Fullmetal Alchemist (Hangane no Renkinjyutsushi) Review

Summary: Brothers and alchemists Edward and Alfonse Elric must struggle through the loss of their mother, opposition, criticism, and in Ed's case, teasing in order to reach their ultimate goal: Finding the fabled Philosopher's Stone and returning each other back to normal, their bodies having been mutilated after an unfortunate accident when they were young.

Favorite moments: I loved the whole series, especially the scientific language and theories discussed. 9I'm a total nerd, I know...)

General gripes: The plot's a little hard to grasp at first, but you'll get it after a few episodes. As always, it's easier to watch it from the beginning, that way you don't have to play catch-up as well as catch-the-plot.

Positive thoughts: A very thought-provoking series with tons of emotion, beautiful music, and a perfect cast (Including Romi Paku in the Japanese and Vic Mignogna and Aaron Dismuke in the dub.) FMA brings up a lot of important morals and philosophies, and displays them all perfectly.

Negative thoughts: The English dub doesn't use the same opening theme as the original, but that's not really a bad thing, since the dub theme is almost as good as the original, "Melissa."

Overall thoughts: What else can be said about Fullmetal Alchemist? The voice cast is amazing, the music and animation are remarkable, and the writing is out of this world. if you think the science will make the series hard to understand, you're wrong, because there nisn't much talk about science, merely a few theories that anyone who's read the Harry Potter books could recognize. (As was said in the summary, they're searching for the Philosopher's Stone, or the Sorcerer's Stone if you've only read the American versions.) Anyway, this is one of the best anime I've seen, and that's saying a lot. of course, it always helps when the main character is a total bishie with a metal arm and leg. ^_^. *Squee*
