Sailor Moon review
Ah, yes. The most popular magical girl anime in America. The way I see it, Sailor Moon both does and does not deserve this title. Sailor Moon follows the story of junior high student Usagi. (Serena, in America) One day, Usagi is late for school, as usual, and she sees a few boys torturing a cat. She saves the cute little kitty and then proceeds to school. Later, she sees the cat again and the cat, Luna, informs her that Usagi is Sailor Moon, a girl who can save the world from evil. Usagi is given a brooch that allows her to change into A complete double of herself wearing a skimpier sailor uniform and a tiara, which makes her completely unrecognizable to even those who know her best. Along the way, she meets up with the other Sailor Senshi, or Scouts: Ami (Amy), Sailor Mercury; Rei (Raye) Sailor Mars; Minako (Mina), Sailor V and Sailor Venus; and Makoto(?) (Lita), Sailor Jupiter. Eventually, Usagi falls in love with Momoru (Damien) and the two find out that they will become the King and Queen of the Moon Kingdom in the future. Their future daughter, Chibi-Usa (Rini) even goes back in time to see her mother and father when they were young. Further into the series, the other Senshi appear, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, and eventually Saturn. Obviously, a series that sprung 4 sub-series: R, S, Super S, and Stars, and having a grand total of 200 episodes, has to be popular, even if it is a bit repetitive/predictable. I admit that I am one of the many, MANY Sailor Moon fans all over the world, but I also admit this: I have never seen Stars, never gotten into the manga, and only own 3 episodes of the S season(?) on VHS. Sailor Moon is a great series for girls and guys alike. I love it, my friends love it, my cousins love it, and thousands of others around the world love it. Sailor Moon is just THAT GOOD.
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, (Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon) earns a 100% A+. Even though its the same plot over and over again, its always fresh, original, and enjoyable, bringing fun and action into any girls afternoon.
