Nothing seems more memorable than to be in the capital of USA during Memorial Day. It was just spectacular. Of course it was emotionally and physically gut wrenching to see Vietnam Veterans standing by the wall, mourning for missing mates and those who have gone. You could actually feel the pain. It really was a solemn place. There are also those who have been disabled by the war. They may put on a happy smiling face but you can never tell how scarred they are by the whole experience. Makes you wanna go up to them, give them a hug and say "Welcome Home".

Washington D.C. projects an image of power, authority and anything ?macho macho?. The big shots are there. Those who have the power to make things right or screw things up are there. It is a remarkable and beautiful place with historical buildings and monuments. The size of Pentagon is immense. It looked like a fortress.Though it is a different story at the perimeter of this place where slums and ghettos are a plenty. There are poor people by the streets and it just doesn't give you a great feeling about that place. It spells of danger. It is an absolute contrast from the center of it all. Then again, nowhere is really safe.
