Great place, fantastic weather and unfortunately, expensive things. Items on sale are nicely packaged, enticing tourists and locals alike to buy them. It's a rather unique and orderly place. Lots of "Hello Kitty" Sanrio stuff and pockets of Pokemon themed items. Kimonos are on sale (still blimey expensive) everywhere at the airport, including interesting looking t-shirts. Some are in English but those lines don't really make any sense, but i've been told that they are rather popular. Mount Fuji is a splendid nice place. We were fortunate enough to have gone up to the 2, 020m mark. The rest of the mountain or volcano was snowed in. Weather was great and air was fresh and crisp. I had a wonderful time slipping on the ice. NOT. Visited Ginza too. It is a place where there plenty of shopping. Too expensive for my wallet. The only thing I could afford were clothes at UniQuo or something like that. Sorta like TARGET and WALMART. Went to Tokyo Disneyland. Had fun listening to Disney characters speaking in Japanese. I couldn?t understand a word they were saying. The workers at Disneyland werent conversing with us in English either. They spoke to me in Japanese even though I really hadn?t any idea what they were saying and made a point to give them a really puzzled look. I guess they thought I was born with that kinda look. Enjoyed Splash Mountain and other rides. I was laughing during the whole ride. Visited Tokyo DisneySea too. Its one of the new Disney theme parks just next to Tokyo Disneyland. I had a lot of fun. Took a lot of pictures and bought myself more popcorn. It was cappuccino flavored. Bought badges and postcards. More souvenirs than I had purchased at Disneyland. My personal favorite themes were American Waterfront and Lost River Delta. Missed the Indiana Jones roller coaster ride because it broke down. For a few hours. By the time we left, it was still down and there were a few hundred Japanese still waiting to ride it. There was a way cool ride into a volcano too. But there was a waiting time of 2 hours for that 5 minute ride and we hadn?t that much time. So we didnt have a choice but to skip it. I totally refused to go for those spring baths. They disallowed swimsuits and there is no way I would bare my flabby body in front of people as we share a spot in the bubbly waters. |
