This is where I live. It is within the DFW metroplex and is the home of the Ballpark. Six Flags is right here too. Guess you never figure out that despite all these entertainment centers, I get quite bored staying home. After all, I didnt have wheels. Still, it is an awesome place to be. Okay, even if we are in the Tornado Alley and I have seen my share of serious twisters, it really is a nice place to be. Crime rates are pretty low as compared to Dallas.
ARLINGTON
Dallas is a business district and it does get kinda boring if you are not there for business. There's lots of shopping to do there, especially in this mall called the Galleria. This is the place where President Kennedy was shot and killed. No, I haven?t seen any ghostly apparitions of the President or Jack Ruby or anyone closely involved in the assassination. But I?ve read the history of it all and it?s quite interesting to note that whoever who were the prime witnesses to the tragedy were killed or died in mysterious circumstances. Of course the 6th floor museum just tossed up further questions about the whole thing. Interesting nonetheless.
DALLAS
Fort Worth is the place where it's truly Texan. There are Longhorns (peculiar smelling too), cowboys, stockyards and all that cool stuff. A very attractive place but things do look different now after March 28, 2000, when the twisters decided to stop by at Fort Worth for a visit. Did you see that car fly? Amazing.
FORT WORTH
Okay, listen up. This is the capital of Texas. Used to be known as Waterloo but I think I like the current name better. Great music, great weather. It isnt as polluted as Dallas but just as tough getting around in. Lots of pubs and clubs and party folks. Not my kinda scene.
AUSTIN
I love those historical buildings. The Crockett Hotel, the Alamo and among other stuff. Though I think that Hard Rock Caf should look a lot better being along the Riverwalk. This is the place where Texas and Mexico meet. Its a unique mix and the culture is really rich. Saturated, in fact. Not mentioning all the cute AF guys I get to gawk and grovel at. Hehe. Shopping malls are breathtaking (yes, breathtaking. Its so big it takes effort to walk every square feet of it) The visit to the Alamo was awesome. It was solemn in there while the city bustled outside its hallowed walls. We arent supposed to touch the walls, for fear that when you touch it, the building may collapse. I have read articles that the place is haunted and guests of nearby hotels claim to see ghosts walking on the grounds of Alamo and on the rooftop of it. I didn?t see anything. But it did feel kinda funny walking inside the building. I guess it was just a fear of seeing a decapitated body or something gruesome appearing out from the walls or ground. Or a ghostly hand playfully smacking my bottom or brushing my arm. Eeeeeeek. I really should stop reading those ghost stories.
SAN ANTONIO
This place is right by Colorado River. It is a really great place to retire. You can have your house built by the river and can jet ? ski to your heart?s desire anytime you like unless there?s flooding. That?s when you have to evacuate from the area. Beautiful place with beautiful houses and beautiful people (no kidding!)
MT. BORNELL
This is quite a mysterious place. In fact, in all the cities and towns in Texas where I have been, this is the only city whereby moths and all other creepy crawlies flock to me. I was getting off the bus and was welcomed with a halo of moths around my head. The sandflies tried getting into my clothes and it wasn?t really a very nice thing to do. I mean, I didn?t stink at all. I showered before I left the house!
WICHITA FALLS
This town hosts the home of the SCREAMS Halloween theme park. I worked here for a couple of nights to raise funds for the Battalion. It's quite an abandoned area. Very dark, very quiet and very spooky. But people flock to this place, an hour or so away from Arlington, every October to spend some money and get spooked silly and wasted. (Note: Can't remember the spelling of this place though). I know I was freaking out, having to hear sounds of wild animals eating people up as they screamed for mercy. Utterly gross. And oh, right across from where I worked as security, was a ?cemetery?. Whatever little light illuminated the ghostly looking buildings and that?s when imagination runs wild. Who was standing behind me breathing down my neck?! Oh, it?s just the Cadet Captain.
