   'the supposed historical resurrection'

versus

'so well authenticated by evidence'

His Royal Highness Prince Aga Khan III

         Reincarnation or Companionship on High?

An article by Imam Hazrat Mowlana Sultan Mahomed Shah (s.a.s.)

Source: Africa Ismaili Kisumu Supplement, March 28, 1969

The Christian burial ceremony and the prayers then said by the presiding ecclesiastics refer to resurrection in a way that implies some kind of similarity with

THE SUPPOSED HISTORICAL  RESURRECTION OF CHRIST THREE DAYS AFTER HIS DEATH.

There is the undoubted implication in the Burial Service that a similar resurrection will in time be the fate of those who die in Christianity.

Just as the events of Easter Week become part of Christianity and the hope of men, so the death-bed scene of our Holy Prophet, so well authenticated by evidence, took place in the presence of his two cousins, Ali and Ibn-Abbas, his wives, and above all, his future great successor, the Caliph Omar, then one of his leading companions. All this evidence is exactly the same.

The last words of the Prophet were "Companionship on High."

The Aga Khan: "I am amazed by the ignorance of Islam"

PARIS - He is one of the spiritual leaders of Islam who best knows the land and the people of Central Asia, the area which holds the world in suspense. He is the Imam, the religious leader and guide of the Ishamilite, whose communities are spread in various countries of Asia and Africa, but also in Europe and in North America. Throughout Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and West China, there are more than five million Ishmaelite. ......

"I think that monotheistic religions, having an analogous belief in an only God, should and must dialogue. The three religions which Abraham inspired have many more common facets than those which divide them.

Religion must be a means by which to affirm the ethical significance of existence, irrelevant of one's faith. If we want social development, to meet halfway, to dialogue, peace, we cannot neglect ethics and the impact which education and culture have on social growth."

[emphasis added, navali]

Dhālika Bi'anna Allāha Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Wa 'Annahu Yuĥyī Al-Mawtaá Wa 'Annahu `Alaá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun (22:6).    Dhālika Bi'anna Allāha Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Wa 'Anna Mā Yad`ūna Min Dūnihi Huwa Al-Bāţilu Wa 'Anna Allāha Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-Kabīru (22:62)   That is because Allah, He is the Truth and because He quickeneth the dead, and because He is Able to do all things(22:6).     That is because Allah, He is the True, and that whereon they call instead of Him, it is the false, and because Allah, He is the High, the Great (22:62)

EXPOSITION.

Ver. 5. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in
the day of his wrath. Now that he has come into the field of action,
the infinite Jehovah comes with him as the strength of his right hand.
Eternal power attends the coming of the Lord, and earthly power

Psalms 22:1 (KJVSL) A Psalm of David  My God <'el>, my God <'el>, why hast thou forsaken  me?

Psalms 118:22 (KJV) The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. Psalms 118:23 (KJV) This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

The words of the cry are found at Psalms 22:1. "Eli" is Hebrew, "Eloi" Aramaic or Syro-Chaldaic for "My God." The former would be used by Jesus if  he quoted the Scripture, the latter if he spoke the language of the people.

Matthew 21:42 (KJV) Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Matthew 21:43 (KJV) Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Matthew 8:11 (KJV) And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. Genesis 3:15 (KJV) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

the divine mystery and its fulfillment

  • abraham had two sons by 2 different WIVES.

  • both were divinely blessed.

  • god had made 2 covenants with him, his wives and the 2 sons.

  • but there always bad blood between the two from the get go.

  • these sibling rivalries have continued throughout the biblical history.

  • it continues to this very day.

b.    on the other hand, although jesus was also 'her seed' [mary] - he was not raised for them [israelites] from among their brethren [ishmaelites] - deuteronomy 18:18,19 & john 1:19-15.

'that prophet' <4396> -- profhvthß Prophetes (prof-ay'-tace) -- was expected AFTER elias-elijah and the christ

John 1:20 (KJV) And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed,
1.     I am not the Christ - Cristovß Christos (khris-tos') <5547> .

John 1:21 (KJV) And they asked him, What then?
2.    Art thou Elias -- ÅHlivaß Helias (hay-lee'-as) <2243>?
And he saith, I am not.

3.    Art thou 'that prophet' --

John 1:25 (KJV) And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then,

1.    if thou be not that Christ - Cristovß Christos (khris-tos') <5547>

2.    nor Elias - ÅHlivaß Helias (hay-lee'-as) <2243>

3.    neither 'that prophet' - profhvthß Prophetes (prof-ay'-tace) <4396>?

profhvthß Prophetes (prof-ay'-tace);
Word Origin: Greek,  Noun Masculine, Strong #: 4396

geneva Joh 1:21
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, iI am not. Art thou 'that prophet'
<
4396>? And he answered, No.

i.     The Jews thought that Elias would come again before the days of the Messiah, ..... And yet John denies that he is Elias, answering their question just as they meant it.

k.     They are inquiring about  some great prophet <4396>?, and not about Christ, for John denied before that he is Christ, for they thought that some great prophet <4396>? would be sent like Moses, using to support this position De 18:15,

so according to this christian source - 'that prophet' <4396> OR some 'great prophet' <4396> was clearly expected  after the said elijah and the christ.

not only do these irrefutable biblical facts speak for themselves but also according to the bible, the ishmaelites and the israelites were the two main nations. they had a common patriarch father in abraham [pbuh].

Salem - 'Peace' - ISLAM

questions put to:

    i.    where was the biblical SALEM
ii.   which name was older SALEM or jerusalem?
iii.   however, if this was an early name of Jerusalem, as claimed or believed by larry mitchell [foi] and other western and/or biblical scholars:

1.     then why did the LORD GOD speak instead of SALEM
        in the book of genesis?
2.     why did david speak instead of SALEM
in the psalms many centuries later?
3.     why did paul/barnabas speak instead of SALEM
in the book of hebrews NOT once but TWICE many centuries  AFTER david?
4.     that said, would these scriptures then fall under:

a.    '2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All  scripture is given by inspiration of God'?

b.    Mark 12:36 (KJV) For David himself said BY THE HOLY GHOST

c.    Luke 20:42 (KJV) And David himself saith IN THE BOOK OF PSALMS

apparently, larry mitchell, foi gospel ministry inc., calgary alberta - an avowed 'anti-islam' judeo-christian - [and his followers], could not answer these simple bible based questions.

so i offered him the following interpretation.

proof

  • Psalms 76:1 (KJV) In Judah [is] God <'elohiym> known: his name [is] great in Israel.
    Psalms 76:2 (KJV) IN SALEM
     <Shalem> <8004>
    _A_L_S_O_ IS HIS TABERNACLE,

and his dwelling place in Zion.

i.     In Judah ;
ii.     in Israel;
iii.    IN SALEM  <Shalem>
        _A_L_S_O_;

iv.    in Zion.

what did these 2 verses mean?

[i believe, larry mitchell has a similar bible program. his good wife bought him a christmas present not too long ago, he told me.]

what did the adverb '_A_L_S_O_' mean in the above text and context, i asked him and his followers? we read these verses and tried to analyze them together from his personal copy of the kjv bible.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

and although he felt that i was very intelligent, he told his people not to welcome me at  foi booth any longer. and further,  he only accused his female followers - for associating(?) with me and/or corrupting their 'PURE' judeo-christian faith.

frankly, i don't know where this poor individual got this funny idea from and WHY he was accusing me behind my back when, his own bible had created this dilemma for friends of israel and other 'anti-islam' christians, who were bent on proving the falsity of islam - without any sustainable proof from the bible or the holy qur'an save conjectures and distortions only. allow me to explain.

where was salem?  well, let the book of  genesis point out its exact location.

i beg to differ with the latter half of the commentary because both salem [a northern city of samaria] and jerusalem [a southern city of judea], were not only well known by this time but also they were at least 40 miles apart from each other.

the noted experts on the bible and individuals concerned had no immediate answers! they were visibly shaken and uncomfortable with this analysis, valid questions and above all and their absolute inability to answer.

a FEARFUL,  foul-mouthed AND DRUNK individual, chris at the 'foi' booth in calgary alberta, reacted adversely and also tried to assault me physically.  he claimed that i was corrupting their faith by asking him/them such bible based questions!

  God of Abraham

How Abraham Discovered God

The Ugaritic texts were written ca. 1400 BCE. They were discovered in modern Syria. Abraham discovered God in Haran, Syria, and then moved to Canaan.

King of righteousness. Such is the meaning of Melchizedek. The word may not be the name, but a title.

King of Salem. This means "King of Peace." It will be observed that the payment of tithes for religious purposes is at least 400 years older than the Jewish law. See also Ge 28:22.

Heb 7:2
King of righteousness; this is the meaning of the Hebrew word Melchisedec. Salem; that is, peace; Melchisedec was therefore in his own name and that of his city a fit type of the righteous Prince of peace, Isa 9:6; 11:4-5; 32:1.

(1) The first revelation of this name (Ge 14:8) indicates its distinctive meanings. Abram, returning from his victory over the confederated kings Ge 14:1-17 is met by Melchizedek, King of Salem. . . the "priest of the most high God" (El Elyon), who blesses Abram in the name of El Elyon, "possessor of heaven and earth." .... but when the King of Sodom offered other of that spoil to Abram, his answer was; "I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord Jehovah, the most high God El-Elyon, the possessor of heaven and earth, ...Ge 14:18-23.

IMPORTANT

1.     THE NORTHERN  CITY OF  'SALEM'

[separated by a distance of 40 miles]

2. THE OLD SOUTHERN CITY OF JERUSALEM

jerusalem's first mention  in the bible occurs @

Joshua 10:1 (KJVSL) Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek <'Adoniy-Tsedeq> king <melek> of Jerusalem <Y@ruwshalaim> had heard  how Joshua had taken  Ai  and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king so he had done to Ai and her king  and how the inhabitants  of Gibeon had made peace <shalam> with Israel , and were among them; Joshua 10:3 (KJVSL) Wherefore Adonizedek <'Adoniy-Tsedeq> king <melek> of Jerusalem <Y@ruwshalaim> ...

Joshua 15:63 (KJV) As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

Jerusalem, which is Jebus

1 Chronicles 11:4 (KJV) And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

yowby Y@buwciy (yeb-oo-see');  Noun Masculine, Strong #: 2983

Jebusite = "descendants of Jebus"
  1. descendants of the 3rd son of Canaan who lived in or around the site of Jebus, the early name for Jerusalem

for all practical purposes, jerusalem must have DERIVED its name from the city of jebusite [genesis 15:21] and the peace treaty - 'had made peace <shalam>'

whereas, the scriptural history of "Salem" begins when Abraham, the 'hebrew--foreigner' [genesis 14:13] meets  another foreigner in the person of the canaanite king and priest "Melchizedek" (king of justice) about 2000 BC.

however, Melchizedek , the king of  "Salem"  [Genesis 14:18]; was also a pre-eternal divine being with an endless priesthood - [psalms 110; hebrews 7:1-3.] if so, when did he become the king of "Salem"? when was the city of  "Salem" built? and who built it?

these simple biblical facts suggest that the history of  Melchizedek & "Salem"  goes well beyond the pages and history of the bible per se.

on the other hand, david conquered 'jerusalem' by defeating the jebusites in 1052 BCE (chronicles 1 11:4-9), nearly 3000 years ago. in other words, its scriptural history only began during the respective reign of joshua and david.

Jebusites

The Jebusites were the inhabitants of Jebus, known today as Jerusalem. The Israelites encountered the Jebusites when they crossed the The Jordan River into the Promised Land under Joshua, however Jerusalem remained under Jebusite control for many years until it was decisively captured by King David.

III. The name which this gave to the place: Beer-lahai-roi, The well of him that liveth and seeth me, Ge 16:14. It is probable that Hagar put this name upon it; and it was retained long after, in perpetuam rei memoriam--a lasting memorial of this event. This was a place where the God of glory manifested the special cognizance and care he took of a poor woman in distress. Note, 1. He that is all-seeing is ever-living; he lives and sees us.

hagar's blessed seed and abram's son

Genesis 16:8 (KJV) And he said, Hagar, Genesis 16:10 (KJV) And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, genesis 16:15 (kjv) and hagar bare abram a son: and abram called his  son's name, which hagar bare, ishmael. genesis 16:16 (kjv) and abram was fourscore and six years old, when hagar bare ishmael to abram.

the lord god's very first promise [genesis 15:1-4] to abraham was fulfilled in ishmael 13-14 years before the birth of his 2nd son  isaac. the lord god also changed his name to 'abraham' after the birth of his eldest son ishmael.

as the biblical dispensation progressed, the lord god brought the ishmaelites in the forefront. jesus conveyed this message very clearly to his handpicked disciples. paul, too could not hide these facts forever. see details below.

rest assured, if there was one thing that had divided the jewish, the christian and the muslim worlds right in the middle for all these centuries past, it was jesus' unfathomable divinity/trinity and  the above controversy.

neither history nor the christian bible supported the same with absolute certainty. there were more unanswered questions than any sustainable evidence to prove the aforesaid.
