Aga Khan urges tolerance in the world

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Penny MacRae

NEW DELHI, April 19 (Reuters) - The Aga Khan, spiritual head of the world's 15 million Shia Ismaili Muslims, said on Saturday survival of an interdependent globe hinged on people showing tolerance of the cultures, values and faiths of others.

Prince Karim Aga Khan, speaking to Reuters in an interview in the aftermath of the Iraq war, said the need for better cross-cultural understanding had never been greater at what he called a "clearly a defining moment in world history".

Tolerance of other cultures, values and faiths was "essential to the very survival of an interdependent world" and education was a crucial tool in achieving this, said the Aga Khan, a wealthy philanthropist and a key force in preserving Islamic cultural history.

"Pluralism is no longer simply an asset or a prerequisite for progress and development -- it is vital to our existence," he said.

contradicted the holy qur'an

The Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement

If, for the sake of argument, Jesus were to return to this world, he would be about 2000 years of age, and hence, according to the above Divine law, too old to be capable of doing anything at all. In fact, it is certain that, under this law, Jesus died a very long time ago.

Jesus(pbuh): Dead or Alive? By: Nadeem Quraishi The author of this page is NOT a Qadiani This is not a Qadiani propaganda

If Jesus(pbuh) is alive in the Heaven, his age today is more than 2000 years!! How can he live that long defying rules and laws set forth by Allah? Are we not making words of Allah contradict when we say in case of Jesus(pbuh) Allah changed his law and made him live that long? This brings us to the next question: can a person live that long? Let us see what Allah has to say about it

the above speaks for itself.

THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S AHL-AL-BAIT (SAS)
& the Ahmadiyyat Movement

The Renaissance of Islam

On one occasion, in a state of complete wakefulness, I beheld the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who was accompanied by his two grandsons, his daughter Fatima and his cousin and son-in-law Ali, may Allah be pleased with all of them. This was not any kind of dream but was a species of complete wakefulness."

Kitabul Bariyyah, pp.. 164-7
--------

The Holy Prophet, peace be on him, is reported to have expressed himself in this manner on an occasion when he was about to depart on an expedition and appointed Hazrat Ali, his cousin, to be in charge at Medina during his absence therefrom. Hazrat Ali was distressed that he would thus be deprived of the opportunity of serving at the front under the command of the Holy Prophet. To reassure him the Holy Prophet said to him: 'You are to me in the position in which Aaron was to Moses, except that there is no Prophet after me.'

'The following are some of the INJUNCTIONS OF MUHAMMAD REGARDING THE IMAM or Khalifa:

a.     "WHOEVER QUITS OBEDIENCE TO THE IMAM AND DIVIDES A BODY OF MUSLIMS, DIES LIKE THE PEOPLE IN IGNORANCE (JAAHILIYAA)".

b.     "HE WHO FORSAKES OBEDIENCE TO THE IMAM, WILL COME BEFORE GOD ON THE DAY OF^ RESURRECTION WITHOUT A PROOF OF HIS FAITH".' (dictionary of islam, by t.d. hughes, reprinted in lahore, pakistan, 986 - pp. 266)

the above speaks for itself.

WHERE IS THE TRUE QIBLAH  IN  ISLAM?

24:36. (This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morn and evening.
Pickthal's Quran Translation

the qur'anic text just cited seems to be a clear reference to the holy imam's [sa] house. see what the holy qur'an says in a similar instance elsewhere.

' make your houses places of worship -- buyootakum qiblatan'

'Ali was to him - the holy prophet  as Harun was to Musa [pbuth]'

10:87. And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship -- buyootakum qiblatan -- and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers.
Shakir's Quran Translation

25:35. We sent Moses The Book, and appointed his brother Aaron with him as minister;
Yusuf Ali's Quran Translation

10. 87:
C1468. Moses was for a little while to remain in Egypt, so that his Message should have time to work, before the Israelites were led out of Egypt. They were to make their houses into places of prayer (Qibla), as Pharaoh would not probably allow them to set up public places of prayer. and they were now to be only sojourners in Egypt. These were the glad tidings (the Gospel) of Islam, which was preached under Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and completed under Muhammad.
Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:61]

(i) At the time of going to Tabuk, the Holy Prophet designated Ali, as his vicegerent, to take charge of the affairs in Madina, saying that Ali was to him as Harun was to Musa.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 10:35]

( 15) The two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) relate on the authority of Sad bin Abi Waqqas that the Holy Prophet left Ali bin Abi Talib behind him as his vicegerent during the expedition to Tabuk, and Ali said: "O Prophet of Allah, do you leave me behind, among the women and children?" He replied: "Are you not content to be to me in the relation of Harun to Musa save that there shall be no prophet after me?"

2:248. And (further) their Prophet said to them: "A Sign of his authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, carried by angels. In this is a symbol for you if ye indeed have faith."
Yusuf Ali's Quran Translation

the holy imamate

the bible

'an everlasting priesthood'

'and the priest's office [imamate] shall be theirs for a perpetual statute'

Exodus 3:15 (KJV) And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.  Exodus 7:1 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

Exodus 29:9 (KJV) And thou shalt gird them with girdles, AARON AND HIS SONS, and put the bonnets on them: AND THE PRIEST'S OFFICE SHALL BE THEIRS FOR A PERPETUAL STATUTE: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. Exodus 30:30 (KJV) And thou shalt ANOINT AARON AND HIS SONS, AND CONSECRATE THEM, that they may minister unto me in THE PRIEST'S OFFICE. Exodus 28:2 (KJV) And thou shalt make HOLY GARMENTS for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Exodus 40:13 (KJV) And thou shalt put upon
Aaron the holy garments,
and anoint him,
and sanctify him;
that he may minister unto me
in the priest's office.
Exodus 40:15 (KJV) And thou shalt anoint them,
as thou didst anoint their father,
that they may minister unto me in the priest's office:
for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood
throughout their generations.

it is obvious that the learned qadiani leader and founder of the ahmadiyya movement had the full and complete knowledge of the above scriptures.

and yet, he claimed the holy imamate for himself - based on some spurious ahadith -- that were fabricated some 250 years after the holy prophet's [sas] divine mission.

but according to his own grandson and fourth successor of the ahmadiyya  movement there is, "No Need of a Mujaddid in the Presence of  Imamate".

so, was he-ghulam ahmad qadiani a false claimant and mujaddid of the 14th century?

"27 August: Our Leader, Hazrat Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at, may Allah help him with His Mighty support, has said that God’s support and His testimony through His acts have proved that there would be no need for a
Mujaddid (Reformer) in the presence of the Imamate. God’s corroborative testimony has forever put this mischief to rest.

It has been said that the chain of Imamate shall not end, even up to the Day of Resurrection, and hence in the presence of Imamate there is no need for a reformation of any kind!"

"His Eminence, may Allah help him, said that the Third Imam (Mirza Nasir Ahmad) had also expounded this same viewpoint to the Jama’at, i.e., that when the Imamate is present, no need remains for any Reformer (Mujaddid), and God’s support and corroborative testimony through His acts have proved that the explanation offered by the Third Imam, may Allah have mercy upon him, was correct. The Fourth Imam, may Allah support him, has said that the corroborative and practical testimony of God, as witnessed in His acts, has forever put this mischief to rest. aaiil.org/text/qadi/mainqadi.shtml - 59k - Cached - Similar pages [ More results from aaiil.org ]

let us now turn to a more important qur'anic subject that had enthralled these  poor claimants for over a century now.

says allah

'but they will mislead only themselves and they will hurt thee not at all'

Wa Lawlā Fađlu Allāhi `Alayka Wa Raĥmatuhu Lahammat Ţā'ifatun Minhum 'An Yuđillūka Wa Mā Yuđillūna 'Illā 'Anfusahum Wa Mā Yađurrūnaka Min Shay'in Wa 'Anzala Allāhu `Alayka Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa `Allamaka Mā Lam Takun Ta`lamu Wa Kāna Fađlu Allāhi `Alayka `Ažīmāan (113).

But for the grace of Allah upon thee (Muhammad), and His mercy, a party of them had resolved to mislead thee, but they will mislead only themselves and they will hurt thee not at all. Allah revealeth unto thee the Scripture and wisdom, and teacheth thee that which thou knewest not. The grace of Allah toward thee hath been infinite.

says allah

1.    'Wa Ma Qataluhu - they slew him not
2.    Wa Ma Salabuhu - nor crucified him
3.    Wa Lakin Shubbiha Lahum - but it appeared so unto them
4.    Wa Ma Qataluhu Yaqinaan (4:157).  they slew him not forcertain'

Wa Qawlihim 'Inna Qatalna Al-Masiha `Isaá Abna Maryama Rasula Allahi Wa Ma Qataluhu Wa Ma Salabuhu Wa Lakin Shubbiha Lahum Wa 'Inna Al-Ladhina Akhtalafu Fihi Lafi Shakkin Minhu Ma Lahum Bihi Min `Ilmin 'Illa Attiba`a Až-Žanni Wa Ma Qataluhu Yaqinaan (4:157).

And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.

Bal Rafa`ahu Allahu 'Ilayhi Wa Kana Allahu `Azizaan Hakimaan (4:158). But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.

Wa 'In Min 'Ahli Al-Kitabi 'Illa Layu'uminanna Bihi Qabla Mawtihi Wa Yawma Al-Qiyamati Yakunu `Alayhim Shahidaan (4:159). There is not one of the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them

4.157:
C663. The end of the life of Jesus on earth is as much involved in mystery as his birth, and indeed the greater part of his private life, except the three main years of his ministry. It is not profitable to discuss the many doubts and conjectures among the early Christian sects and among Muslim theologians. The Orthodox Christian Churches make it a cardinal point of their doctrine that his life was taken on the Cross, that he died and was buried, that on the third day he rose in the body with his wounds intact, and walked about and conversed, and ate with his disciples, and was afterwards taken up bodily to heaven.

This is necessary for the theological doctrine of blood sacrifice and vicarious atonement for sins, which is rejected by Islam.

But some of the early Christian sects did not believe that Christ was killed on the Cross.

The Basilidans believed that some one else was substituted for him.

The Docetae held that Christ never had a real physical or natural body, but only an apparent or phantom body, and that his Crucifixion was only apparent, not real.

The Marcionite Gospel (about A.D. 138) denied that Jesus was born, and merely said that he appeared in human form. The Gospel of St. Barnabas supported the theory of substitution on the, Cross.

The Quranic teaching is that Christ was not crucified nor killed by the Jews,

notwithstanding certain apparent circumstances which produced that illusion in the' minds of some of his enemies: that disputations, doubts, and conjectures on such matters are vain; and that he was taken up to Allah (see next verse and note). Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

[emphasis added, navali]

can we prove the above from the holy qur'an and the bible?

New American Bible

Tobit : Chapter 12

15 I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who enter and serve before the Glory of the Lord." '19 Even though you watched me eat and drink. I did not really do so; what you were seeing was a vision.'

the new testament

please use your god-given intelligence to determine the following facts for sure. and then answer these questions.

JESUS
'the reality or an illusion'

'And now I am no more in the world'

and I come to thee
*
'While I was with them in the world'

And now come I to thee
*
'and these things I speak in the world

John 17:1 (KJV) These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: John 17:11 (KJV) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].  John 17:12 (KJV) While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:13 (KJV) And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

question

now, if jesus' own assertion as above;
i.     is correct and acceptable;
ii.    be it with regards to his reality or illusion;
       and/or his material or spiritual being;
iii.   then WHICH part or FORM of jesus was CRUCIFIED on the  cross?

The Docetae held that Christ never had a real physical or natural body, but only an apparent or phantom body, and that his Crucifixion was only apparent, not real.  Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

therefore, how could we even attempt to decipher his enigmatic statements with our limited human minds, when his own handpicked apostles could not understand him and were accused of being dumb and unintelligent by him? allow me to explain.

follow intelligently the sequence of the following pre-islamic events and each statement as reported.

'One gnostic text from Nag Hammadi, the Apocalypse of Peter, relates a radically different version of the crucifixion :

  •  ..... I saw him apparently being seized by them.

And I said what am I seeing, O Lord?

  • Is it really you whom they take?

  • And are you holding on to me?

  • And are they hammering the feet and hands of another

Who is this one above the cross, who is glad and laughing?

The Saviour said to me, "He whom you saw being glad and laughing is the Living Jesus

  • But he into whose hands and feet they are driving the nails is his fleshy part, which is the substitute

  • They put to shame that which remained in his likeness. And look at him,

  •

and [look at ] me"

(The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels, under, 'The Passion of Christ,' pp. 87).

despite these irrefutable biblical or pre-islamic facts, the said muslim exponents of the holy qur'an have taken upon themselves to not only contradict the bible and the holy qur'an but also they have pursued their own private and 'foreign' agenda in the process.

'reality' versus 'illusion'
 in the holy qur'an

the dictionary meaning

il·lu·sion (¹-l›"zh…n) n. 1.a. An erroneous perception of reality. b. An erroneous concept or belief. 2. The condition of being deceived by a false perception or belief. 3. Something, such as a fantastic plan or desire, that causes an erroneous belief or perception. 4. Illusionism in art. 5. A fine transparent cloth, used for dresses or trimmings. [Middle English, from Old French, from Late Latin ill¿si½, ill¿si½n-, from Latin, a mocking, irony, from ill¿sus, past participle of ill¿dere, to mock : in-, against; see IN-2 + l¿dere, to play; see leid- below.] --il·lu"sion·al or il·lu"sion·ar"y (-zh…-nµr"¶) adj. --il·lu"sion·less adj.

8:17. Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.
Pickthal's Quran Translation  [note: allah is the doer of all things]

8:43. When Allah showed them to you in your dream as few; and if He had shown them to you as many you would certainly have become weak-hearted and you would have disputed about the matter, but Allah saved (you); surely He is the Knower of what is in the breasts. Shakir's Quran Translation

8:44. And remember when ye met, He showed them to you as few in your eyes, and He made you appear as contemptible in their eyes: that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted. For to Allah do all questions go back (for decision). Yusuf Ali's Quran Translation

AND I DID NO DIE IN REALITY BUT IN APPEARANCE, lest I be put to shame by them, ....For my death which they think happened, (happened) to them in their error and blindness, SINCE THEY NAILED THEIR MAN unto their death..... IT WAS ANOTHER, their father, WHO DRANK THE GALL AND THE VINEGAR; IT WAS NOT I. THEY STRUCK ME WITH THE REED, IT WAS ANOTHER, SIMON, who bore the cross on his shoulder. IT WAS ANOTHER UPON WHOM THEY PLACED THE CROWN OF THORNS. ..... And I was laughing at their ignorance' (The Nag Hammadi Library in English, The Second Treatise of the Great Seth (VII, 2), pp. 332).

'but so it was made to appear to them'

4:157. That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not: Yusuf Ali's Quran Translation

4:157. And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. Shakir's Quran Translation

The Discrepancies of Mirza Ghulam Qadiani

"Very true, Messiah (Jesus) died going to his native land Galeel."
     (Azala-e-Auham, P. 197)

"Messiah, very secretly, ran away toward Kashmir and died there."
     (Kashti-e-Nuh, P. 53)

In his various books, Mirza Ghulam A. Qadiani, had given three different locations for the Grave of Jesus. Which one is correct?

  1. Jesus AS buried in Al-Khaleeli (Gulailee).
In 1891 Mirza wrote a huge volume, Izala Auham, which ran upto 948 pages. In the second volume of this book, he wrote a detailed, mind boggling explanation trying to prove that Jesus was not taken physically to heavens (as the Muslims believe), but that he was taken down from the cross, went to his native place, Al-Khalil, died and buried there. He writes:

"This is true that Maseeh went to his native place, and died there, but this is not true that the same body which was buried, became alive again..... verse 3 chapter I of Acts is a testimony about the natural death of Jesus that took place in Al-Khaleeli. After this death, Maseeh was visible to his students as KASHF (vision) for 40 days." (Izala-e-Auham, Roohani Khazain vol.3 p.353-354)

  1. Grave of Jesus in Quds
However, 3 years later, in 1894, Mirza changed his story. In his other book, Atmam-e-Hujjat (Roohani Khazain volume 8) he once again tried to prove that Eisa Ibne Maryam AS is dead. In an attempt to prove that, he gave the testimony of one of his rare Arab Disciple, Molvi Mohammed Al-Saeedi Trabilisi Al-Shaami. He wrote:
"This has to be admitted that Hazrat Eisa is also dead, and interestingly enough the grave of Hazrat Eisa is also in Syria and for further clarity, in the footnote, I include the testimony of My brother, My lover in Allah, Molvi Mohammad Al-Saeedi Trablisi. He is a resident of Tripoli, in the Country of Syria and in his area is the Grave of Hazrat Essa AS (Jesus). If you say that Grave is a fake, then you must provide the proof of this fake, and prove that when this fraud took place. And in this event we will not be sure about the graves of any prophet and trust will be lost, and we will have to say that all those burial places are fake." (Atmam E Hujat, Page: 18-19, Roohani Khazain vol.8 p.296-297, dated 1894)
Letter of Molvi Mohammed Al-Saeedi Trabilisi:
"O Hazrat Maulana & My Imam. Assalamo alaikum wa rehmatullah wa barakaatohu. I pray that may Allah give you cure (I recieved this letter of Shaami Saheb during my illness) Whatever you have asked about the Grave of Eisa alaihe assalam and other events, thus I am writing to you in detail, and that is this: Hazrat Eisa alaih assalam was born in Bait-ul-Lehm and between Bait-ul-Lehm and Quds there is a distance of thirty miles and the Grave of Hazrat Eisa alaihe assalam is in the Country of Quds, and is present till now, and there is a Church built on it, and that church is the largest church of all churches, and inside it is the Grave of Hazrat Eisa and in the same church is the Grave of Maryam, the truthful. And both graves are separate." (Atmam-ul-Hujjat, Roohani Khazain vol.8 p.299)
That seems to settle the matter. As far as Mirza Saheb was concerned, Jesus was dead and his grave was in al-Quds.
  1. Jesus' Grave in Kashmir: However 8 years later, Mirza changed the story once again. Now he started propagating his new theory: Jesus is buried in Kashmir.

"It is proved with certianity that Essa AS (Jesus) migrated to Kashmir. After this Allah liberated him with his blessing and he kept on living there for a long time until he died and was included among the deads. And his burial place is still in the city of Srinagar (Tomb of Yus Asif)" (Al-Huda, 12 June 1902, Page 109)

"I have been informed about the grave of Eisa (in Kashmir)." (Roohani Khazain vol 18 p.358, 361)

"The grave of Jesus is in Kashmir." (Roohani Khazain vol 18 p. 320, Nuzool-e-Maseeh, printed in 1909, after the death of Mirza)

So now we have three different statements of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani regarding the grave of Jesus. My question to Qadianis is which is the correct one? Al-Khalil or Quds or Kashmir?

The tomb of the Blessed Virgin is venerated in the Valley of Cedron, near Jerusalem. Modern writers hold, however, that Mary died and was buried at Ephesus. The main points of the question to be taken into consideration are as follows.

Crucifixion of Jesus
The disbelievers of Jesus wished to bring about his death upon the cross for the purpose of calling him accursed in accordance with the pronouncement in Deut 21:23 which declares, "he that is hanged is accursed of God." His death on the cross would thus confirm him as a false Messiah. Islam contradicts the assertion that Jesus died an accursed death on the cross.

1 5 7a.  The words wa maa salabuhu do not negative Jesus’ being nailed to the cross; they negative his having expired on the cross as a result of being nailed to it. ... That Jesus died a natural death is plainly stated in 5:117: "and I was a witness of them so long as I was among them, but when Thou didst cause me to die, Thou wast the Watcher over them". See 5:1 1 7a. The Gospels contain clear testimony showing that Jesus Christ escaped death on the cross. The following points may be noted: (1) Jesus remained on the cross for a few hours only (Mark 15:25; John 19:14) but death by crucifixion was always tardy. (2) The two men crucified with Jesus were still alive when taken down from the cross; the presumption is that Jesus too was alive. (3) The breaking of legs was resorted to in the case of the two criminals, but dispensed with in the case of Jesus (John 19:32, 33). (4) The side of Jesus being pierced, blood rushed out and this was a certain sign of life.

They connect Masih with the word Sah, to wander, to survey, to go on pilgrimage. Thus they believe that Isa is the leader of Imam al sa'yihin (peripatetic ministers) (The Encyclopaedia of Islam, Vol. IV, p.82). The Ahmadiyya movement in Islam has adopted this idea of the wandering Isa into their belief that Isa travelled eastward as far as Kashmir (Ghulam Ahmad, Isa in India, p.53).

Death on the Cross

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

According to them, Jesus was a false prophct, therefore he died on the cross as the accursed of God. The Christians also believe that Jesus was hanged on the cross and died an accursed death. Says Paul:

they are trying to FALSIFY the holy qur'an and its divine message as well.

And Thou art Witness of all things.a =

117a. This verse is a conclusive proof that Jesus died a natural death, and is not now alive in heaven.

Here Jesus says that so long as he was among his followers he was a witness of their condition, and he did not find them holding the belief in his Divinity. The logical conclusion of this statement is that the false doctrine of his Divinity was introduced into the Christian faith after his death, after 'thou didst cause me to die'?; see further 3:55a.

5:117  SHAKIR: I did not say to them aught save what Thou didst enjoin me with: That serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord, and I was a witness of them so long as I was among them, but when Thou didst cause me to die, -- Thou wert  the Watcher -- 'Anta Ar-Raqība `  -- over them, and Thou art witness of all things.

despite the above fabrication by both the qadiani leader and zohurul hoque, the truth, according to the holy qur'an is vastly different, if not outright contradictory.

let us look at the bible in this respect and then we shall turn to the holy qur'an itself.

Hebrews 5:8 (KJ2000) Though he were a Son, YET __L__E__A__R__N__E__D__ HE OBEDIENCE by the things which he __s__u__f__f__e__r__e__d;__

the key words

this part of the text is very interesting indeed because it lays to rest all false arguments and fabrications surrounding this so-called cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection of jesus christ.

a.    BECAUSE if jesus had DIED:

Author of Hebrews
... 13:28. Barnabas
Tertullian first suggested Barnabas as the author of Hebrews. Acts
4:36 describes him as a Levite making him familiar with Levitical ritual. ...

‘Barnabas, His Gospel, and its Credibility (II)

However, the nature of both Hebrews and the Epistle of Barnabas is hard ...
=

please note the above facts because both the qadianis-ahmadis and zohurul hoque were also acquainted with 'the gospel of barnabas,' wherein the author claimed that jesus WAS NOT CRUCIFIED. but someone else was in his stead.

the bible

Matthew 16:24 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. John 10:27 (KJV) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

b.    therefore, all those who believe in his so-called cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection are duped by their  own duplicity and fanaticism.

where was jesus crucified?

let the bible speak for itself

REV 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the GREAT CITY, which spiritually is called SODOM and EGYPT, where also our Lord was _ c_r_u_c_i_f_i_e_d.

Where was -- 'the GREAT CITY' in the biblical times?

1.    Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Re 17:18
Verse 18. And the woman which thou sawest. Re 17:3.
Is that great city. Represents that great city.

Which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Rome would of course be understood by this language in the time of John, and all the circumstances, as we have seen, combine to show that Rome, in some form of its dominion, is intended. Even the name could hardly have designated it more clearly, and all expositors agree in supposing that Rome, either as Pagan or as Christian, is referred to

if the above interpretation is correct then was jesus crucified in the great city of rome?

2.    Revelation 14:8 (KJV) And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, Revelation 16:19 (KJV) And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, Revelation 18:10 (KJV)  Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

was jesus crucified in the great city of babylon?

we must also note that all 4 gospels have asserted plainly that Jesus was crucified in Calvary or Golgotha, i.e., a place of skull.

Where was that place?

Was it the one indicated at:
a.     Rev 11:8
b.     or Heb 13:12,13
c.     or Deut 23:10-12?
d.     Was it within Jerusalem
e.     or just outside the city limits as in qumran?

Well let’s see what a world renowned scholar and visitor to “that place” had to say in this regard.

She says: The Book of Revelation speaks of “the great city which is spiritually called SODOM and EGYPT, WHERE THE LORD WAS CRUCIFIED.’ QUMRAN WAS NEAR THE ANCIENT SITE OF SODOM ...... Qumran COULD also be called “Egypt” when the Therapeutae met there, as has been seen. [Jesus & The riddle of the Dead Sea Scrolls, by Barbara Thiering, 1992 - pp. 105].

Although the above is nothing more than a conjecture, it is clear that she was thinking about a place outside Jerusalem. If that is the case then do we have any biblical account --hard facts -- to support that view?

Well, let us look at the following for now:

HEB 13:12,13 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered **without the gate.** Let us go forth therefore unto him **without the camp** bearing his reproach.

DEU 23:10-12 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad **out of the camp,** he shall not come within the camp: But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come *into the camp again.* Thou shalt have a place also **without the camp,** whither thou shalt go
forth abroad:

Let us now turn to Barbara Thiering and see what she has to say about
this matter as well. She asserts:

1. THE LAST SUPPER

All gospels say that the crucifixion and the events preceding it
took place in “JERUSALEM”, using the plural form of the word. As has been seen, the distances of places given in the gospels, measured in stadia,
FIT EXACTLY THE OUTPOSTS OF QUMRAN, but remain vague when related to Jerusalem [ibid.].

2. THE CRUCIFIXION

A New Testament verse says Jesus suffered
“outside the gate” and  “outside the camp”. ... The phrase “outside the camp” also had a further sense to those who knew their Old Testament: Deuteronomy 23:12 shows that it designated the latrine area --- [ibid. pp. 113].

3.     the gospels say that the place of the crucifixion was known as "the place of a skull". this in itself indicates a graveyard, one of most striking features of the land surrounding the qumran* buildings [jesus the man, under 'the crucifixion,' pp. 151]

4.     the location lay outside the southern entrance gate to the
qumran* complex ..... a new testament verse says that jesus suffered "outside the gate" and "outside the camp" ...... (pp. 150).

the above is also verified by another source, like so:

5.     the site of the crucifixion:  jesus was crucified "outside the city" (john 19:17,20; hebrews 13:12). at a place called "the skull" (matthew 27:33; mark 15:22; luke 23:33 john 19:17) (halley's bible handbook, under, 'mark,' pp. 481).

6.    Without the gate. Without the gate of Jerusalem, Joh 19:17-18. The place where he was put to death was called Golgotha, the place of a skull, and hence the Latin word which we commonly use in speaking of it, Calvary, Lu 23:33; comp. Cmt. on Mt 27:33.

a.    Calvary, as it is now shown, is within the walls of Jerusalem;

b.    but there is no reason to believe that is the place where the Lord Jesus was crucified,

c.    for that was outside of the walls of the city.

The precise direction from the city is not designated by the sacred writers, nor are there any historical records, or traditional marks, by which it can now be known where the exact place was.

All that we know on the subject from the New Testament is, that the name was Golgotha; that the place of the crucifixion and sepulchre were near each other; that they were without the gate, and nigh to the city, and that they were in a frequented spot, John 19:20. "

This would favour the conclusion that the place was probably upon a great road leading from one of the gates; and such a spot would only be found upon the western or northern sides of the city, on the roads leading towards Joppa or Damascus." See the question about the place of the crucifixion examined at length in Robinson's Bibli. Research., vol. ii., pp. 69--80, and Bibliotheca Sacra, No. 1.

The verse/s in question read:

HEB 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned **without the camp.** HEB 13:12,13 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered **without the gate.** Let us go forth therefore unto him **without the camp,** bearing his reproach.

What does the above mean?

how could anyone DEFEND the bible and/or defend the so-called cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection of jesus christ on such flimsy and contradictory evidence at best?

rest assured, even the biblical authors, who were closer to the said events, were still unsure of the exact place and nature of cruci_FICTion that had taken place then.

so, how could the qadiani leader and founder of the ahmadiyya movement and zohurul hoque, respectively be so sure of the same some 2000 years AFTER the fact? their said claims and divine inspirations are full of blunders and baloney.

c.    that said, please note that the hebrews verse 5:7 quoted above, settles the other argument, put forth by the said ahmadis and zohurul hoque. see complete details below.

please allow me to touch on something more important from the qur'anic perspective before we return to this matter shortly.

4:136. O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray.

'and unto David We gave the Psalms'

17:55. And thy Lord is Best Aware of all who are in the heavens and the earth. And we preferred some of the prophets above others, and unto David We gave the Psalms
Pickthal's Quran Translation

17. 55:
C2240. Not only are we not to judge other ordinary men and carp at them. We are not to set up false standards for judging the Prophets of Allah. If one was born of the unlearned Arab race, he yet was a mercy to all the worlds. If one spoke to Allah as Kalimullah or another's life began with a miracle; it does not imply superiority. It only means that Allah's wisdom is more profound than we can fathom.
C2241. The gifts with which the prophets came may themselves take different forms, according to the needs of the world and the times in which they lived, as judged by the wisdom of Allah.

A striking example here given is the gift of David over others. David was given the Zabur, the Psalter or Psalms, intended to be for the worship of Allah and the celebration of Allah's praise. For the Book of Psalms, see the last part of n. 669 to iv. 163, where exactly the same words are used about David. Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

d.    see jesus' earnest prayer before the so-called crucifixion, death and resurrection. Luke 22:40-44.

The 4 gospels show that Jesus FEARED TO DIE. He prayed and supplicated;

*REMOVE THIS CUP FROM ME* -- *with strong crying and tears UNTO HIM THAT WAS ABLE TO SAVE HIM FROM DEATH, AND WAS HEARD in that he feared.* [luke and hebrews]

Therefore, there can be no argument over this issue. These scriptural facts prove that Jesus WAS NEITHER CRUCIFIED nor killed -- as revealed in the Holy Qur’an centuries ago.

what is the QUR'ANIC MEANING of:

'Idh Qāla Allāhu Yā `Īsaá 'Innī Mutawaffīka Wa Rāfi`uka 'Ilayya Wa Muţahhiruka Mina Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Jā`ilu Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ūka Fawqa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Ilaá Yawmi Al-Qiyā Mati Thumma 'Ilayya Marji`ukum Fa'aĥkumu Baynakum Fīmā Kuntum Fīhi Takhtalifūna (55).

(And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.

zohurul hoque vis-à-vis the said nadeem quraishi argues that:

Analysis of the verse 3:54 from Surah Ale Imran
In the verse  3:54 Allah says:

3:54 UNNAMED TRANSLATOR

Behold! Allah Said: "O Isa! I shall cause you to die  and I shall exalt you towards me and I shall  clear you of those who reject Faith, and I am going to make  those who follow you above those who reject Faith - until the day of Awakening. Then towards Me is your return, so that I shall decide among you as to in which you used to differ. [mostly zohurul hoque's translation  and language, compare pp. 96, navali]

please note that the contender [Nadeem Quraishi] had DELIBERATELY used the late a. yusuf ali's words, 'reject Faith'  - in order to throw people off guard.

he adds, ''They key words here are :  Ya Isa, inni mutawaffika wa rafi’uka  ilaiya
Meaning:  "O Isa! I shall cause you to die and I shall exalt you towards me….."

My contention is that the position of the Quran is superior to Hadith.  Whenever a Hadith comes to contradict a Quranic verse, the Quran must prevail, not the Hadith.

In the verse 3:54, two conditions are stipulated about Jesus(pbuh):

first,

Allah will cause his Death,

second,

he will be raised.

The second condition can not take place till the first condition is met.  In other words, before Jesus(pbuh) can be raised, first, he must die.  Let us see various translations of the same verse.

Correct translation : "O Isa! I shall cause you to die and I shall exalt you towards me…"

Once again, please notice the sentence: Ya Isa, inni mutawaffika WA rafi’uka  ilaiya… that is ‘rafa’ will take place only after the ‘wafat’.   ‘Rafa’ after death can not mean physical ascension, but only exaltation in rank.  This is more implied when the words ‘I shall clear you of those who reject Faith’ are present with it.

this needs no further comment.

however, i will gladly accept his following challenge:

Please think about it:  If you do not believe that Jesus(pbuh) is dead, then you must come up with concrete evidences from the Quran and only from the Quran.  You must conclusively reconcile all the verses that I mentioned in my discussion.   Please don’t say such and such scholar told that he is alive!!!! Please don’t say such and such book  clearly tells that he is alive!!!!  Please don’t say such and such Fatwa testifies that Jesus(pbuh) is alive!!!!  To validate the words of these scholars, are you going to shatter the words of Allah?   Please don’t give greater value to a man-made book over that of divine scripture.

Please have courage to accept the truth.

reminder

'Once again, please notice the sentence: Ya Isa, inni mutawaffika WA rafi’uka  ilaiya…

that is ‘rafa’ will take place only after the ‘wafat’. '

how true and valid is the above interpretation?

4.    was there any form of ‘wafat’ - gathering or ‘rafa’ - ascension  involved or mentioned in their case here?

5.    if not, where are the 'once dead and now living' muslim martyrs from eons past?

6.    did they leave and/or were they removed from allah's presence at anytime?

Jesus(pbuh): Dead or Alive?

I am trying to show you plenty of evidences from the Quran to prove that Jesus(pbuh) is not alive -- he is dead and that he was not raised alive in the Heaven. Unfortunately this may sound so much like a Qadiani propaganda. However, it is not a Qadiani propaganda and the author of this text is not a Qadiani.

hey what can we say when he contradicts the qadianis themselves? allow me to explain, if i may.

false and unfounded arguments

Jesus(pbuh): Dead or Alive?  Let us examine the use of the word ‘rafa’ in the Quran. The word ‘rafa’ occurred many times in the Quran conveying a meaning of spiritual honor and exaltation.  Please note carefully what Allah says in the verse. He is saying that Jesus(pbuh) will be raised towards Him  and not towards Heaven.  So the question of  Jesus(pbuh) being alive in the Heaven can not arise, because he was not raised in the Heaven.   In the literal context even if we think that he was raised bodily  near Allah,  question comes, where is Allah? Is He ensconced  somewhere in the sky, in Heaven or in a throne like a king?  Didn’t Allah say that He is omnipresent – in other words, He is present everywhere? Would you say that Allah is confined in a  physical body towards which He raised Jesus(pbuh)?  Please answer, how can Jesus(pbuh) be raised to sky or Heaven when Allah said he will be raised towards Him.  And that Allah is present everywhere (2:115); Allah is nearer to man than his heart (8:24); Allah is nearer to man than his jugular vein (50:16).

rest assured, in order to promote the qadiani philosophy, this man whoever he is, had deliberately contradicted and falsified every aspect of the holy qur'an per se.

Ex 25:22
      22. there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat--
The Shekinah, or symbol of the Divine Presence, rested on the mercy seat, and was indicated by a cloud, from the midst of which responses were audibly given when God was consulted on behalf of His people. Hence God is described as "dwelling" or "sitting" between the cherubim.

question

1.    how could a 'dead person' predict or talk
about his own 'death and resurrection' in future tense?

2.    why did allah make this particular distinction between john,
and jesus, especially, if both were already 'DEAD' by then?

please note also that both john and jesus were first cousins - born roughly six months apart - luke 1:5-36. and although, john was beheaded before jesus' so-called cruci_FICTion, he baptized jesus when he turned 30 and began his own prophetic mission among the children of israel.

3.    therefore, how do we explain these qur'anic differences?

4.     allah speaks about:  jesus' 'Mutawaffīka' & maut-death' in 2 different contexts altogether.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:55]

In Badshah Husain's English translation of the Holy Quran, Sale is quoted on page 14 of Vol. 11. as under:

"It is supposed by several that this story was an original of Mohammad's but they are certainly mistaken, for several sectarians held the same opinion, long before his time. The Basilidians (Irrenus I.I.C 23 and C. Epiphan Haeres 24 num III) in the very beginning of Christianity, denied that Christ himself suffered, but that Simon the Cyraracean was crucified in his place. The Corinthians before them and the Carpocratians next (to name no more of those who affirmed Jesus to have been a mere man) did believe the same thing; it was not himself, but one of his followers very like him that was crucified. Photius tells us that he read a book entitled "The Journeys of the Apostles", relating the acts of Peter, John, Andrew, Thomas and Paul, and among other things contained therein, this was one, that Christ was not crucified, but another in his stead, and that therefore he laughed at his crucifiers (Photius Bible Cod 114, col. 291) or those who thought they had crucified him (Tolands' Nazrenus p. 17 and c.)"

The Jewish plot to kill Isa was prevented by the best of planners, the almighty Allah.

Tawaffa is to fulfil a promise. Inni mutawaffika means "I will complete your term". The word may mean death or to take away. It has been used in both its meanings in the Quran. The Ahmadi commentator, to deny the miraculous escape of Isa from being crucified, misinterprets the word tawaffa as Isa's physical death. The Holy Prophet and the holy Imams have said that Isa will come down again from the heaven before the day of resurrection and offer prayers behind Imam Muhammad al Mahdi, the last Imam in the progeny of the Holy Prophet.

4:41. But how (will it be with them) when We bring of every people a witness, and We bring thee (O Muhammad) a witness against these
Pickthal's Quran Translation

COMMENTARY: HQ. 4:41. A proper and an intelligent study of the matter of this verse guides the reader to a very important factor about the personality of the Holy Prophet. The word 'Shaheed' means a WITNESS. When 'Shaheed is followed by 'Ala' it means 'Raqeeb' or 'Mohaimim' meaning a close watcher, a careful observer and a WITNESS in the pure and most perfect sense as used in 2:143, 22:17, and 5:117.  [S.V. Mir Ahmed Ali, Comm. #530 re: 4:41 & #1201 re: 16:89, pp. 376 & 865-66]

The address in the verse is to the Holy Prophet. The question arises can anyone who was not present on any event bear WITNESS over the situation. The verse says that a witness will be called of every people of every age and the HOLY PROPHET WOULD BE CALLED TO BEAR WITNESS over all those witnesses. This statement of the Holy Qur'an clearly indicates the Holy Prophet was ESSENTIALLY PRESENT WITH EVERY PROPHET IN EVERY PART OF THE EARTH AND IN ALL TIMES.

And according to 2:143 HE REMAINS SIMILARLY PRESENT WITH EVERY HOLY IMAM UNTIL THE DAY OF JUDGMENT TO BEAR WITNESS OVER THEM ALL. It is a serious matter for an intelligent study of the personality of the Holy Prophet that when the Word of God so strongly establishes the spiritual or the essential existence of his presence during all times and in all places .....

There is the saying of the Holy Prophet: "Kunto Nabiyyan wa Adama bainal ma' wattin" I was a Prophet when Adam was still in water and clay, i.e., I existed as the Apostle of God even before Adam was yet to be created.

The essential existence of the Holy Prophet with all apostles and in all times, has been referred to in 2:143; 16:84,89 -- [ibid. pp. 376].

HQ. 016.089 And (bethink you of) the day when We raise in every nation a witness against them of their own folk, AND WE BRING THEE (MUHAMMAD) AS A WITNESS against these. And We reveal the Scripture unto thee as an exposition of all things, and a guidance and a mercy and good tidings for those who have surrendered (to Allah).

As Muslims, we believe and/or accept the above as well, submit to the Holy Qur'an because it is Allah's Revelation and Commandment.

Ali ibn abi Talib is known as mazhar al aja-ib and mazhar al ghara-ib because, as willed by Allah, he used to appear in different forms to carry out divine plans under very special circumstances. These two epithets are exclusively reserved for Ali. Even today the true believers invoke Allah to send him for help (???*navali).

C2411. One of Our servants: his name is not mentioned in the Qur-fin, but Tradition gives it as Khidhr. Round him have gathered a number of picturesque folk tales, with which we are not here concerned. "Khidhr" means "Green": his knowledge is fresh and green, and drawn out of the living sources of life for it is drawn from Allah's own Knowledge. He is a mysterious being, who has to be sought out. He has the secrets of some of the paradoxes of Life, which ordinary peoplc do not understand, or understand in a wrong sense, as we shall see further on. ne nearest equivalent figure in the literature of the People of the Book is Melchizedek or Melchisedek (the Greek form in the New Testament). In Gen. xiv. 18-20, he appears as king of Salem, priest of the Most High God: he blesses Abraham, and Abraham gives him tithes.

C2412. Khidhr had two special gifts from Allah: (1) Mercy from Him, and (2) Knowledge from Him too. The first freed him from the ordinary incidents of daily human life; and the second entitied him to interpret the inner meaning and mystery of events, as we shall see further on.

Prayer Accepted:

This prayer of Jesus: Take away this cup from me, offered in a state of agony and anguish (Luke, 22:44), was heard by the Most High God and there appeared an angel unto him from heaven strengthening him (Luke, 21:33). Paul, the founder of Church Christianity, speaking of this acceptance of Jesus’ prayer by the Most High God,
writes in his Epistle to the Hebrews (5:7):

Who (Jesus) in the days of his flesh when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was heard in that he feared.

Was Jesus HANGED[1] to death?

From the very inception of Christianity, Christians have disputed whether Jesus was CRUCIFIED or impaled. Even, whether he was crucified at all, as recent archaeological discoveries has shown.

If he was, as the scripture asserts then, he was NEITHER CRUCIFIED[2] NOR IMPALED[3] at the same time.

Although the final analysis and result may be the same, the method used had been disputed for centuries. Each feuding sect gave its own version of the events it deemed correct or to have taken place, at the exclusion of all others, regardless.

But the main question here is, why should these Christians argue over these 2 issues only and LEAVE OUT the more critical one namely, 'WAS JESUS _H_A_N_G_E_D_ ON A _T_R_E_E'?,_ as the book of Acts and Galatians purport?

Or else, HOW MANY times did Jesus die and HOW did his death come about each time?

a.     By hanging?
b.     Cruci_FICTion?
c.     Impalement?

how was the above prophecy fulfilled in jesus, if ever? therefore, how could the proponents of the so-called 'cruci_FICTion' - be so sure of the nature of punishment inflicted upon jesus when NEITHER the bible or the holy qur'an say which it was.

on the contrary, the latter refutes BOTH forms of punishments.

'distortions' as usual - he speaks as 'allah'

Mirza uttered such non-sense Kufr in his books as “I am God, in my vision.''

Mirza is God

"I saw in one of my vision that I myself am God and believed that I am Him." (Kitab-ul-Bariayh, Roohani Khazain vol. 3 p.103)

Mirza Ghulam Ahmed  "I saw myself in a dream as God's eye and I believed that I was actually Allah, and in this state I said: 'I wish a new order a new heaven and a new earth.'

Hebrews 5:8 (KJ2000) Though he were a Son,

note: it does not say, 'by the cruci_FICTion that he suffered.' it clearly asserts, 'YET LEARNED HE OBEDIENCE by the things which he suffered;'

if so, was jesus disobedient prior to his so called cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection? how do we determine that?

The Gospel of Barnabas was accepted as a Canonical Gospel in the Churches of Alexandria till 325 C.E.  In 325 C.E., the Nicene Council was held, where it was ordered that all original Gospels in Hebrew script should be destroyed.

How early is *E-A-R-L-Y* in the Christian context? Please note that the Gospel of Barnabas is LISTED AMONG the Lost Books of E-A-R-L-Y Christian Literature. See below.

Now, will Jochen Katz care to answer this question for us since he is being unduly stubborn? He feels that this pro-Islamic gospel was manufactured by some Muslim in the 12th century or thereabouts.

But one James, his accomplice says, *Gospel of Barnabas (I), rejected among a list of forgeries in the _6th_ century.* See below. Apparently, these pious internet Christian missionaries have just created an insoluble problem for themselves because if, the *f-o-r-g-e-d* Gospel of Barnabas was rejected in the _6th century_ as alleged:

a.     When was the original Gospel per se, written and by whom?
b.     What was the status of the original Gospel in Christendom up to that point in time?

http://www.answering-islam.org/Barnabas/gosep.html

Gospel of Barnabas (I), rejected among a list of forgeries in the 6th century. Nothing else is ^^^^^^ known about this. Not known if it ^^^^^^^^^ has anything in common with (4) below.

Gospel of Barnabas (II), Latin manuscript from Italy in the **16th century,** translated into English by Lonsdale and Laura Rigg, published in 1907 by Clarendon Press, Oxford.

http://ironbark.bendigo.latrobe.edu.au/~blackhir/Entry.html *But there are also signs that it was not initially composed under Muslim inspiration. It shows, in fact, only a mistaken and superficial familiarity with Islam. The underlying text is more accurately described as "Jewish-Christian" or "Ebionitic". Its doctrines are those of the Ebionites, the Judaic "heretics" of early Christianity. If 'Barnabas' is a late forgery, what earlier sources might its author have used? THE MEDIEVAL GOSPEL OF BARNABAS. See below.

FOREWORD The content of this book represents only about a third of the complete manuscripts WHICH EXIST IN _A_R_A_M_A_I_C_ IN THE SECRET ARCHIVES OF THE VATICAN and in old Slavonic in the Royal Archives of the Habsburgs (now the property of the Austrian Government [The Essene Gospel of Peace, 1937, by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely pp. 7]

The Essene Gospel IS NOT THE ONLY MANUSCRIPT of its kind IN THE SECRET ARCHIVES OF THE VATICAN. There were GOSPELS supposedly by Matthew, _B_A_R_N_A_B_A_S,_ James, Peter and Thomas, used by the Manicheans, together with the Book of the Obstetrician, The Essene Book of Genesis, The Canto of Christ, ---- ALL THESE MANUSCRIPTS WERE CONDEMNED AS APOCRYPHAL AND 'DAMNED FOR ETERNITY' along with their authors and followers -- [pp. 10].

despite all this pre-islamic knowledge, these people with vested interest and claim, respectively had decided to pursue different avenues.  allow me to explain, if i may.

the bible

Luke 1:5 (KJV) There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife [was] of the daughters of Aaron, and her name [was] Elisabeth. Luke 1:34 (KJV) Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:36 (KJV) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

phase ii.    23:46. to firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 23:48. so they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed

23:50. And We made the son of Marium

Shakir's Quran Translation

note

i.    first of, allah refers to moses, aaron [pbuth] and their israelite-egypt religious history. in other words, theirs was not a political struggle for survival.

ii.   second of, jesus descended from imran and the aaron's [pbuth] priestly family on his maternal side. see above Luke 1:5,34-36 (KJV); HQ. 3:33,34 AND  zohurul hoque pp. note#3:53, pp. 91 & 19:28.

iii.    moreover, both jesus and his mother [pbuth] were mentioned ONLY in the context of the earlier israelite-egypt religious history and the prophets, etc.

'and We gave them a shelter'

the bible

'and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt'

Matthew 2:13 (KJV) And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
Matthew 2:14 (KJV) When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
Matthew 2:15 (KJV) And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

see 19:22-26 and the pertinent details given below as well.

Yusuf Ali's Commentary 23. 50:
C2906. The virgin birth of Jesus was a miracle both for him and his mother.
C2907.
THERE IS NO NEED TO LOOK FAR for the place where mother and child were given secure shelter. IT IS DESCRIBED IN XIX. 22-26.

It was the place to which she withdrew to be delivered when the time drew near. There was a fruitful palm-tree, evidently on high ground, for beneath it flowed a spring. She retired there in seclusion, and she and her child rested there until it was time for her to go to her people with her child.
Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

please note that according to the above qur'anic text, maryam, jesus' pregnant mother [pbuth], was already 'on lofty ground having meadows and springs.'

she suffered the birth pangs alone in that place. she delivered her 'blessed son' there and not in srinagar, kashmir. there is not a word or hint about the indian sub-continent here.

2nd translation of the qur'anic text

19:22. So she conceived him; THEN WITHDREW HERSELF WITH HIM TO A REMOTE PLACE
19:23. AND THE THROES (OF CHILDBIRTH) compelled her to betake herself  to the trunk of a PALM TREE. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten! 19:24. Then (the child) called out to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely your Lord has MADE A STREAM TO FLOW BENEATH YOU; 19:25. And shake towards you the trunk of the palm tree, it will drop on you FRESH RIPE DATES: 19:26. SO EAT AND DRINK AND REFRESH THE EYE. Then if you see any mortal, say: Surely I have vowed a fast to the Beneficent Allah, so I shall not speak to any man today.

19:27. And she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her). They said: O Marium! surely you have done a strange thing. 19:28. O sister of Haroun! your father was not a bad man, nor, was your mother an unchaste woman. 19:29. But she pointed to him. They said: How should we speak to one who was a child in the cradle? 19:30. He said: Surely I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet; 19:31. And He has made me blessed wherever I may be, and He has enjoined on me prayer and poor-rate so long as I live;
Shakir's Quran Translation

for all practical purposes, jesus christ was born here some 33 years i.e., BEFORE his so-called cruci_FICTion.

therefore, why connect the events of his birth with anything that did not even take place for another 3 decades at least?

and here is the biblical proof:

John 10:15 (KJV) As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
John 10:16 (KJV) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.
John 10:17 (KJV) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

  • condition 1- John 10:15 (KJV) - 'and I lay down my life for the sheep.'
  • condition 2 - John 10:17 (KJV) -- 'because I lay down my life.'

meaning: BEFORE proceeding to kashmir or wherever to gather the remaining sheep of his fold or the other fold -- jesus had to die first

his crucifixion, death,  and resurrection had to take place before he could execute his other plans.

Survival of the Crucifixion

The first Muslim writer known to have included the tradition of Jesus having traveled to India in his youth with the tradition that he, as Yuz Asaf, had traveled in southwest Asia in the latter half of the first century, was the 10th-century historian, Shaikh Al-Said. 41 [41. Shaikh A-Said-us-Sadiq, Kamal-ud-Din (Iran:Syed-us-Sanad Press, 1782) 357-358. See K. N. Ahmad, Jesus in Heaven on Earth, 365-366.]

according to this (KJV) text, jesus could not and did not proceed to kashmir BEFORE his so-called cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection.

cruci_FICTion:
John 10:15 (KJV) As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

GATHER HIS SHEEP
John 10:16 (KJV) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold:
them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.

1ST OR 2ND cruci_FICTion
John 10:17 (KJV) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

whether or not he survived the said cruci_FICTion is not even an issue here. on the other hand, it could refer to his journey back to israel from india via persia only and not the other way round.

the issue is -- there is no way, he could have belied himself by going to kashmir BEFORE his prophesied and predestined cruci_FICTion, simply no way!!! the opposite is perhaps the truth and the buddhist scripture supports the biblical text in this respect as seen above.

therefore, i believe that both scriptures are very clear in their respective context and connotation, regardless. and to argue otherwise is to betray one's conscious and islam - in every sense of the term.

the bible

Isaiah 41:18 (KJV) I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Isa 41:18
18. Alluding to the waters with which Israel was miraculously supplied in the desert after having come out of Egypt. high places--bare of trees, barren, and unwatered (Jer 4:11; 14:6). "High places . . . valleys" spiritually express that in all circumstances, whether elevated or depressed, God's people will have refreshment for their souls, however little to be expected it might seem.

Isaiah 42:15 (KJV) I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

WAS JESUS BORN IN KASHMIR?

Luke 1:39
Arose. In consequence of the angel's words. Went into the HILL COUNTRY. THE CENTRAL PLATEAU OF JUDEA, containing the cities of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron. Hebron was a Levitical city (Jos 21:11). Whether the city was Hebron, Juttah, or some other,
is only conjecture.

Or is the Tomb of Jesus in Kashmir? http://alhafeez.org/rashid/grave.html

Another website called 'Tomb of Jesus' goes to extreme length to prove
that Tomb of Jesus is in Kashmir. Although the owner of website (Tombmaster) denies that he belong to any religious group, but soon the cat comes out of the bag when the owner of this website confesses on Ahmadi forums that he is Ahmadi and is very close to Mirza Tahir, the Qadiani Khalifa. He writes:

"After surviving the crucifixion, Jesus Christ arrived in Kashmir, where he took up residence for the remainder of his life. THERE HE MINISTERED TO ISRAELITE TRIBES OF THE AREA, CONTINUING TO PREACH. He eventually married a woman named Maryan, who bore him children, and, so the theory states, he died at the age of 120 years. His tomb [see picture of his tomb on our home page] is located in the Mohala Kan Yar district of the capital city of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, Northern India, and is called the Roza Bal ("The Site of the Honored Tomb")."

688 Ch. 23: THE BELIEVERS [Al-Mu’min.n
50 And We made the son of Mary
and his mother a sign, and We gave
them refuge on a lofty ground having
meadows and springs.a

50a. There has been much discussion as to the land spoken of in this verse. Rabwah is lofty ground, and qarår means cultivated land, and a place where water rests in a meadow (LL). Jerusalem, Egypt, Palestine or Damascus, which are the names suggested, do not answer the description, which applies exactly to the valley of Kashmir. Part of the lost ten tribes of Israel is also traced to Kashmir, where a large number of towns and villages bear the names of the towns and villages of Palestine. The presence of a tomb known as the tomb of Nabß (i.e., the prophet), or ‘Íså (i.e., Jesus), or Y∂z Åsaf, in the Khån Yår street in the capital of Kashmir, lends additional support to this theory. The fact that the chapter deals with the final triumph of prophets and their followers and their deliverance from the hands of their enemies also gives us a clue to the mystery attending the circumstances of the disappearance of Jesus Christ after the event of the Cross; for, as shown in 4:157a, Jesus did not die on the cross. According to a saying of the Holy Prophet, Jesus lived 120 years (IK, vol. ii, p. 246). This verse tells us that, being delivered from the hands of his enemies, he was given shelter at some other place, and the description of that place as indicated in this verse, along with the fact that Kashmir has a tomb, which every available evidence shows to be the tomb of Jesus himself, leads us to the conclusion that Kashmir is the land referred to in this verse.

Ch.7, "Those Versatile Essenes" Beskow quotes from the anonymous "The crucifiction by an eyewitness, (p.54-55), the Essene Letter", which begins:
"I have informed you of all these things, my brethren, that you shall indeed know that Jesus was our brother, and belonged to our Holy Order, ...."

1.    The document claims that Jesus was revived by Joseph of Arimathea & Nicodemus using Essene healing practices.

2.    and the youth observed with inexpressible joy that the lips of the body moved, AND THAT IT BREATHED. he at once hastened to JESUS TO ASSIST HIM, AND HEARD SLIGHT SOUNDS RISING FROM HIS BREAST. the FACE assumed a LIVING APPEARANCE, and the EYES OPENED and in astonishment gazed at the novice of our order [pp. 79]

3.    The two angels at the tomb were really Essene brothers dressed in white. Jesus died some six months later from the injuries sustained during his torture.
