The Christian burial ceremony and the prayers then said by the presiding ecclesiastics refer to resurrection in a way that implies some kind of similarity with

       THE SUPPOSED HISTORICAL  RESURRECTION OF CHRIST THREE DAYS AFTER HIS DEATH. 

      There is the undoubted implication in the Burial Service that a similar resurrection will in time be the fate of those who die in Christianity. 
   
Just as the events of Easter Week become part of Christianity and the hope of men, so the death-bed scene of our Holy Prophet, so well authenticated by evidence, took place in the presence of his two cousins, Ali and Ibn-Abbas, his wives, and above all, his future great successor, the Caliph Omar, then one of his leading companions. All this evidence is exactly the same. 

The last words of the Prophet were "Companionship on High."

the above makes sense  only if jesus and the other 2 malefactors were first crucified and then hanged - as per the mosaic law. allow me to quote the same again.

the lord god of israel had commanded precisely as above.

to the undiscerning western mind and reader, the acts 10:39 may appear to be an exact fulfillment of the above prophecy. but according to barnes [see above/below] it was neither the truth nor a true rendering of the greek text.

so which of these versions could we really trust when the bible is at the mercy of its translators?

regardless, he was suspended first and then killed. if true, this form of punishment was exactly opposite of what the lord god of israel had commanded.  in this manner, the said prophecy/command was abrogated. 

but did not jesus say:

Matthew 5:17 (KJV) 'Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil'?

although the high priests, the chief priests and the jews demanded his crucifixion and death, according to the 4 gospels, this divine law or command was not followed in jesus' case at all. 

rather, it is said that he died within hours after the said cruci_FICTion. whereas, the 2 malefactors were deliberately killed, for important judaic reasons cited in the gospels. 

however, none of these were then hanged in accordance with the mosaic law after their death. they were simply taken down from the cross.  and jesus himself was laid in the sepulchre instead.  

John 19:41 (KJV) Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
John 19:42 (KJV) There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

regardless of how we look at this issue - something does not seem or sound right here. the said divine/mosaic law was abrogated by the very people who were clamoring for his life.

please note that the author of Luke 23:21,32 also gives us a DIFFERENT version of the events elsewhere. it must be recalled that luke was neither a follower nor disciple of jesus. 

according to his own admission, he was merely compiling various oral traditions that had been passed down from the first witnesses or that which was BELIEVED among them.  see luke 1:1-4; acts 1:1-5.

yet, there is no unanimity on this issue or his reporting thereof. on the contrary, each account is as different as the next one cited by the same author namely luke, the gospel writer and paul's physician and fellow traveller.

THIS then is the real difference between the original prophecy namely, the divine command and its poorly 'tailored' to fit fulfillment in the new testament.

on the other hand, if the book of acts is accepted as the correct version of the events as they transpired then the 4 gospel-accounts - dealing with only the cruci_FICTion are all wrong and contradictory. 

after it's all said and done, how do we account for luke's flagrant inconsistencies just cited? in other words, he had contradicted and belied his own gospel, which bears his name.

however, was jesus ever crucified in the great city of babylon, sodom or egypt? 

and yet, we have a scripture text which actually states that - as per the testimony /revelation of jesus himself - rev 1:1,2. 

but then, this is not a typical example by any means. in fact, there are a few more contradictions in the new testament in this particular regard. 

on the other hand, in spite of its untold atrocities, jesus never referred to jerusalem, as either 'the great city, that woman, sodom or egypt,' etc. 

we must also note that all 4 gospels have asserted plainly that jesus was cruci_fied in calvary or golgotha, i.e., a place of skull.

 WHERE WAS THAT PLACE OF SKULL?  was it the one indicated at:

      rev 11:8 [EGYPT OR SODOM]
 
or heb 13:12,13 [QUMRAN-DEAD SEA]
 
or deut 23:10-12? [QUMRAN DEAD SEA]

was it within jerusalem?
 or just outside the city limits?

what is more important to note is that the author of hebrews 13:11-13, supposedly barnabas -- tells us that jesus was not crucified at any of the places mentioned in the 4 gospels and most certainly, NOT AT JERUSALEM either. 

rather, he points to a different location altogether. I will let Dr. Barbara Thiering shed some light on this matter:

       vi. a. The gospels say that the place of the crucifixion was known as "the place of a skull". This in itself indicates a graveyard, one of most striking features of the land surrounding the Qumran* buildings [Jesus the man, under 'the crucifixion,' pp. 151]

The location lay outside the southern entrance gate to the Qumran* complex ..... A new testament verse says that Jesus suffered "outside the gate" and "outside the camp" ...... (ibid.  pp. 150).

The above is also verified by another important christian source, like so:

   The site of the crucifixion:  Jesus was crucified "outside the city" (John 19:17,20; Hebrews 13:12). At a place called "the skull" (Matthew 27:33; Mark 15:22; Luke 23:33 John 19:17) -- (Halley's Bible Handbook, under, 'Mark,' pp. 481).

The place of crucifixion according to the said epistle:

            The bodies of the animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus _d_i_e_d_ outside the gate, to sanctify the people by his own blood. Let us go to him outside the camp ..... (Hebrews 13:11- 13).

Numbers 15:35 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

Verse 31. The Jews took up stones. Stoning was the punishment of a blasphemer, Le 24:14-16. They considered him guilty of blasphemy because he made himself equal with God, Joh 10:33.
Again. They had before plotted against his life (Joh 5:16,18) and once at least they had taken up stones to destroy him, Joh 8:59.

  It was both "outside of the gate" and "outside the camp" phrases used for the place where Jesus was crucified in Heb. 13:12-13. The latter phrase means a latrine in deut 23:12 (Jesus the man, under 'the crucifixion,' Locations, pp. 445/46).

i.    barnes:  Heb 13:12   Without the gate. Without the gate of Jerusalem, John 19:17-18. 

ii.    The place where he was put to death was called Golgotha, the place of a skull, and hence the Latin word which we commonly use in speaking of it, Calvary, Lu 23:33; comp. Cmt. on Mt 27:33. 

iii.    Calvary, as it is now shown, is within the walls of Jerusalem; 

iv.    but there is no reason to believe that is the place where the Lord Jesus was crucified, for that was outside of the walls of the city. 

v.    The precise direction from the city is not designated by the sacred writers, nor are there any historical records, or traditional marks, by which it can now be known where the exact place was. All that we know on the subject from the New Testament is, that the name was Golgotha; that the place of the crucifixion and sepulchre were near each other; that they were without the gate, and nigh to the city, and that they were in a frequented spot, John 19:20

Where is Qumran*?

           ix.     Qumran* -- Home of the Scrolls To get to Qumran, where the dead sea scrolls were discovered, you hire a car in Jerusalem. ..... The road winds along the side of the mount of Olivet, on the east side of Jerusalem, through Bethany, and downwards towards Jericho and the Dead Sea.

Qumran, in the wilderness of Judea, had been the place of exile of the Essenes since at least the second century BC. ((Jesus the man, under 'the crucifixion,' pp. 47).

so, where and how was jesus crucified? no one can tell us for sure.

here' another more credible version of the whole event.

  Ch.7, "Those Versatile Essenes" Beskow quotes from the anonymous "The crucifiction by an eyewitness, (p.54-55), the Essene Letter", which begins: "I have informed you of all these things, my brethren, that you shall indeed know that Jesus was our brother, and belonged to our Holy Order, ...." 

1.    The document claims that Jesus was revived by Joseph of Arimathea & Nicodemus using Essene healing practices. 

2.    and the youth observed with inexpressible joy that the lips of the body moved, AND THAT IT BREATHED. he at once hastened to JESUS TO ASSIST HIM, AND HEARD SLIGHT SOUNDS RISING FROM HIS BREAST. the FACE assumed a LIVING APPEARANCE, and the EYES OPENED and in astonishment gazed at the novice of our order [pp. 79]  

3.    The two angels at the tomb were really Essene brothers dressed in white. Jesus died some six months later from the injuries sustained during his torture.

The crucifixion of our Lord took place outside the city walls (Hebrews 13:11-13) and near the public thoroughfare. "This thing was not done in a corner." (See GOLGOTHA .)

  • Golgotha
    It is obvious from the evangelists that it was some well-known spot outside the gate (Compare Hebrews 13:12), and near the city (Luke 23:26), containing a "garden" (John 19:41), and on a thoroughfare leading into the country. 
    • Hence it is an untenable idea that it is embraced within the present "Church of the Holy Sepulchre." 
    • The hillock above Jeremiah's Grotto, to the north of the city, is in all probability the true site of Calvary. 

meaning:  no matter how you look at it, the testimony of jesus plus the other biblical evidence and references just cited, will take us through several mid-eastern countries including the destroyed city of Sodom, 'where <hopou> also <kai> our <hemon> Lord <kurios> was crucified <stauroo>'.

the above disputes show that the gospel writers and all those who claimed to be witnesses of the cruci_FICTion including jesus  - were not even sure of when and how it happened. thus, we have all kinds of inconsistencies and contradictions given in the new testament.

James H. Charlesworth is a professor of New Testament language and literature and director of the Dead Sea Scrolls Project at Princeton Theological Seminary. His teaching interests include early Judaism and Christian origins, with special attention to Jesus research. An ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, Dr. Charlesworth has written or edited more than 50 books and 400 articles.

Q: What do you think about the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin? Could this truly be Jesus' burial cloth?

A: From the beginning of work on the Shroud of Turin I surmised that this cloth dated from about the 13th century. It could not be taken, with confidence, back beyond that date, and this period is one of fabricating relics with great skill. The carbon dating tends to suggest a date not far from that century. I wonder if it is possible that the person on it was a Christian who was crucified in a mocking way? I must confess that such research belongs to others; my focus and area of specialization is the first century C.E.

   Hence, his arms were nailed to the patibulum through the forearms and not through the wrists, the bones of which 'were found undamaged.' It is logical to infer, therefore, that, contrary to the customary portrayal in paintings and biographies,' Jesus had his arms pierced and not his hands. 

We should probably translate the only two passages in the Gospels that mention of the crucified Jesus (Lk 24, Jn 20) not as 'hands', but with Hesiod, Rufus Medicus, and others as 'arms'. Hence, according to Jn 20, Jesus said to Thomas, 'place your finger here and observe my arms...'

A Psalm of David

             Psalms 22:1 A Psalm of David. MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? Psalms 22:16 the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: THEY PIERCED MY HANDS _A_N_D_ _M_Y_ _F_E_E_T._

we must note that the above Psalm among several others --  is quoted more often than not to show that jesus' fate was predestined and predicted in the former scriptures from times immemorial, as contended by jesus himself, like so: 

         Luke 24:25 Then he [jesus] said unto them, O _F_O_O_L_S,_ AND SLOW OF HEART TO BELIEVE all that the _p_r_o_p_h_e_t_s_ have spoken: 

and despite the blistering rebuke, our christian friends are still at pains to show us a verbatim quote of the same - [THEY PIERCED MY HANDS _A_N_D_ _M_Y_ _F_E_E_T_] - in the new testament itself. 

rest assured, this is not an unreasonable request because often parallel passages from the old and new testaments with regards(?) to the 'CHRIST -- anointed and/or the messiah,'  etc., have been cited side by side to show its veracity or whatever. 

take for example:

i.               Psalms 22:1  -------> parallel passages ------->        Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34 

ii.                Psalms 22:18 -------> parallel passages ---->      Matthew 27:35; Mark 15:24; Luke 23:34; John 19:24 

iii.               Deuteronomy 21:22,23 -----> parallel passage --->    Galatians 3:13

iv.               Deuteronomy 18:15,18    -----> parallel passage ----->         Acts 3:22,23

v.                Zechariah 11:12 -----> parallel passages ------->    Matthew 27:3,5,9;  

in spite of the above examples, i have yet to find something in the new testament that directly corresponds to : *THEY PIERCED MY HANDS _A_N_D_ _M_Y_ _F_E_E_T._*

if the above is the gospel truth as per john's version, then how was the psalmist prophecy fulfilled in jesus?

jesus makes a clear distinction between 'matter and spirit'

Luke 24:39 (KJV) Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:40 (KJV) And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

NOTHING in these lucan verses suggests that 'his hands and feet' were nailed to the cross. jesus is merely comparing himself to the spirit-ghost, that his disciples had taken him to be. he cleared their doubts in this manner.

Luke 24:37 (KJV) But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. Luke 24:38 (KJV) And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

having said that, allow me to present several refutations in this case. hopefully, this alone will show how much the christian world itself is divided over an issue, which for all practical purposes, is the foundation of the 'pauline'  christianity and the roman catholic church.

 JESUS WAS NEVER CRUCIFIED

         such was the the bloody stage set for the career of the crucified of pontius pilate, whom the church confounds and makes us confound with the REAL JESUS, [THE ESSENE JESUS, pp. 9], who never took any part in politics and who as we shall see, WAS NEVER CRUCIFIED - [the essene origins of christianity, by edmond bordeaux szekely, [pp. 39]

The Cross (Greek: stauros) Biblical Overview

Though the Bible does not specifically describe the instrument that Jesus died upon, tradition has it that he was put to death on a cross; consisting of a stake and a crossbeam. The Greek stauros is sometimes used to describe a simple stake, and other times a more complex form such as the cross.

    all known medieval paintings show jesus christ being crucified with nails driven through the _p_a_l_m_s_ of the hands, NOT THROUGH THE _W_R_I_S_T_S_ AS ON THE SHROUD  ['the second messiah - templars,  the TURIN SHROUD & the great   secret of the freemasonry   pp. 197]

 

    The arm bones of the victim revealed a deep scratch on the radius of the right forearm while the bone was living, just above the wrist produced by a nail penetrating between the radius and the ulna. Christian paintings usually show the nails piercing the palms of Jesus' hands, but that is impossible. The weight of the slumping body would have torn the palms in a very short time. The nails were driven into the victim's wrists, because they are sufficiently strong to hold the weight of a slack body. We also know his name. On the ossuary is his name: "Yehohanan, the son of Hagakol." 

if this is the case, and it is then how could anyone defend such hypothesis let alone follow it as the fundamental pillar of the pauline christianity and an absolute means of your salvation? details given below.

please consider the following accounts in their totality:

   obviously, it is impossible to conclude that jesus and  jehohannan were crucified in exactly the same manner

 jehohannan was crucified closer to the time of jesus' own crucifixion. .. finally let us return  to the issues raised by the appearance of the tlh  in the dead sea scrolls. scholars have wrestled  with this verb often PRESUPPOSING  that crucifixion was by means of nailing a victim to wood. 

now, we LEARN from anthropological examinations of the bones of jehohannan that he was 'HUNG' by his arms from horizontal bar or a TREE.  

any remaining  problems with translating tlh to denote crucifixion should now be removed  ['jesus and the dead sea scrolls' - edited by James H. Charlesworth, pp. 283-284]. 


AN 'EYE-WITNESS' ACCOUNT RELATED ONLY 7--SEVEN PASSOVERS--YEARS AFTER THE EVENT -- by a personal friend of jesus in jerusalem to an ESSEER [ESSENE] brother in _a_l_e_x_a_n_d_r_i_a._

they then laid hold of jesus and, lifting him up, placed him on the short stake which is always put in front of each cross, that the body of the criminal may rest there WHILE BEING TIED
