Yesterday Jeremy was telling me about little nonya, how it'll be translated. Moon lady will scream each time "Give me back my chicken soup!" haha, omg. it's a terrible terrible idea to dub it in english... they've really milked it enough and they should just sell the rights overseas, like what they've done for tvb and msia. continue to sell to korea and china and all, im sure it'll be the wave. went for CO this morning and prac The Sun. I'm
basically ok with the score le, now left the tuning and the speed need to
catch up... really semi pro sia, haha. prac one time can go combine. ok la
haven yet, really need more prac and still got jiang jun ling but so glad
i touched my instrument. brought the guan back to prac myself, hopefully
wed will be ok during combine. after that went to meet angeline and li xin
and we ate Sumo house, the cheap jap restaurant which i always think is
value for money. then we went to play guitar hero world tour at angeline's
house where joyce also joined us with her super hyper mode cos she want to
play the drum set. o.0 haha. that game is quite ok la, really hard lo. if
only got chinese version and have mayday songs in it, so much better. the
only song i know in world tour are What I've done and Hotel california..
very limited hor, the rest all so ulu songs. no money to buy and pay for
rights ba, haha.
feb 28th... last day of feb, last year still got 29th.
1 day less... i realize the ntu comm studies entry score is pretty low,
impossibly low which i dun even think its really true... muz be the appeal
cases pull down the cop. BBBC and 3.2 leh, wah piangz... now my course
like some lousy course... even tho really cannot compare to law or med or
some engine. haix, what is the world coming to...

Alex alex... how can you forget to take the key?! i was suppose to draw the key and open the conference room but i was too busy rushing powerpoint that i asked my sergeant to draw and open. then halfway thru meeting, dun need the sergeants le, so they left... den after the meeting, i thot my boss has the key but NO! that guy booked out le, phone no batt~! wahhzzz. luckily in the end all solved but WHY i always have something bad with keys. In NYP also, key always kena locked in CO room cos the door is auto locked and always had to go SAO to draw the master key... worse if its sat, nobody at SAO. i should never handle keys~ arghzzz. had dinner
with jeremy, hinyeung, andrew and boyang... jeremy and hinyeung i think we
haven met since like... 1.5 yrs ago!!! that was the last time i remember
and wow, really long. but we still biatch like there's no tomorrow about
anything and everything hahaha. and cby...er xin daooooo~ i muz publish
here big big
4.8 !!! ntu chemistry~
wah laoz, i
thot gu jing 4.5 already highest liaoz but this one is .... wah~ nothing
to say, almost puke out my baked rice (we were eating at kim gary). but
cby was nice enough to give me tips about add drop, hehe~ i think i must
hunt after him during the add drop period. andrew will be going into ntu
same as me but he's doing accounting... quite surprisingly. im still
amazed, how is 4.8 humanly possible lo, i 3.8 already almost max out alot
alot liaoz. ok even though it was mostly project, i never really mug for
exam except during exam week and a few days before mid term. So
essentially each module arh, i mug for 4 days only. 4 x 4 modules
which is 16 per sem... 32 days a year, i mug. im sure it's lesser than
that but yah... that's all needed for poly de exam papers.
which brings
me to another point: now a lot of CO ppl anyhow jus miss combine or
sectional because next day got common test or presentation. pls lo, is jus
a 30% common test or mid term test. see le also haix. last time me and
xiao pang where got pon CO jus for these small tests, is just a matter of
balancing your time and spending quality time mugging instead of msn-ing
or dota-ing or youtubing and wasting time away during crucial period
(during off peak of course i do those things also la!). i really jus wanna
tell those juniors, if now u cannot handle poly acad and come regularly
for cca and you care SO much about your gpa, what makes u think can go
into uni and do well there. CO is a very good way to train your time
management skills and make you be self discipline lo... know when to study
and when to play. yes u're better than the mugger who dun join any CCA.
but to say in a brutal manner, if u need to use cca time to mug arh...
means u are just not there yet.
i think i oso
v. stress now, monday i was typing a 1k word essay on my interest in
media.. n i took 2 hours to brainstorm the main points and sketch on a
blank piece of paper, then another 2 hours to type the essay out.
wahhhh~!!! jia lat liaoz. such a simple topic but i dunno how to write to
make it good. jiat lat arhhh jia lat~!!! howww howwww, anyone wanna me my
english tutor?!

The stupid headache is still with me. But AlexKoh, Samuel, Andy, MinSheng and I had lunch at AMK, our usual S11 then hawker centre routine as the doc has spelt out. Funny thing is, most of the conversation revolves around tekko's new girlfriend and how he'll be spending his summer hols with his girlfriend at US for a working holiday. minsheng in the past few years travelled a lot with thea's family and he was 'preaching' about how the rest should go overseas and take a look at the world outside. Then you'll really appreciate the efficacy and beauty of the singapore system, despite some complains many have. But at least you can see both the good and the bad side instead of just complaining. Going overseas, you can experience and appreciate their culture but you must come back. He become spokesperson for PAP le, he joked hahaha! DanielPoh also agrees, a lot of students are just myopic and just stuck in Singapore. So much more to learn and see out there, which I totally agree with. Changi airport is really up there in the world... but Bugis St is really terrible compared to Chatuchak or Temple St. When Andy was puzzled with why his course only goes to US, China, India and not Aussie etc. He didn't want to go to India because of his perception. Min Sheng suggested Bangalore (even though that's more for IT) and we're telling him how hi-tech Bangalore is... andy thought it was in Bangladesh o.0 Alex Koh knows about it cos he read The World is Flat as well, the book that talks about Bangalore as the IT centre for many american companies, Western doctors send the MRI scans or whatever x-ray scans to India so that the doctors there can view it and write the report and email it back the next morning. Indians they speak very well and their mind goes very fast and they're very good at what they do. Once when I was working at Discovery Channel which is a MNC with many offices all over the world, there was a female who flew here from India for meeting and she was sitting at the hot desk beside me. She can log in the computer here and log in into her account, the computer here becomes the same as hers back in India, desktop and all. That's how flat the world is. If I can, I wanna go see Bangalore and Calcutta as well. Petrol Chem is a v. zai course Andy~ just that maybe Aussie is not that big into that! i dunno, it's out of my ken. some guy in
camp actually told me that he thinks people who talks about politics and
all are just for show. it depends lah, some people likes soccer and talk
about soccer all day, some people like movies.
So nice that alex koh and
andy send xmas card to mel and branzy, even though it arrived only
during CNY. reminds me of the time in NZ where one young officer want to
send a postcard to her girlfriend few days before vday and then realize
that it takes a week to send it back to Sg. Duh! that's air mail for you.
I don't think inter-states mailing in other countries takes 1 day like sg
unless its Fedex or DHL. They have their own cargo planes. The next time
we meet up should be August when minsheng comes back during his winter
hols. Last Aug till now doesn't seem that long.
Can see that minsheng now reads the papers more, he has STonline even tho he's in sydney... evolved so much and even Andy lee is shocked that he read books. cos back in those days, he dun even bring books to school~! all the chem txtbk, A math txtbks are MINE (i have locker) so he uses mine. funny hor. Postponed my
jap class to the 5pm class so it was Yukumura sensei. The one who though
Hokkien Mee is healthy, she's all about food! hehe. so we talked about
Crystal Jade?! of all things, haha. somehow and some way we ended up on
the topic on the legal age to get married (oh cos she says she want to get
married) and nobody actually knows. 16 is definitely not, that's for sex.
at first i thought 18 but later 21 seems more plausible and someone say 18
to 20 you need parental consent (that sounds like abortion) and then we're
all oblivious and then we said muslims have a different law. the sensei
was totally shocked... why muslim have different law. yah, we tried to
explain that they can have more than one wife, no alcohol etc. then we
corrected her on malays and muslims, one is a race, one is a religion.
what happens when a chinese marries a muslim and become chinese muslim etc
etc. she was totally confused, hahaha! sometimes even we ourselves are at
a loss. Then we had to practise saying "Do you know about ...." (shi-tte
imasu) so had some photos of ayumi (amazingly one person didn't know her!)
then there was Kimura Takuya albeit a really really young photo and some
people were shocked its her. then there was Taro Aso-san whom again, only
I know... prime minister!!! even though japan recently always change. then
we talked about drama and one student asked her "Where do you download
J-drama?" and was trying to ask what is the jap way of saying
download... Download-to! LOL!!! and and i realize, Zheng Guo Chen on mei
shi da san tong also uses Hokkienese!!! (hokkien japanese) while he's
hosting the show in hokkaido. maybe i shld set up a Hokkienese club and be
the president, haha who wanna join?!

Headache! The moment i book out and was travelling on the bus, felt really thirsty and I think it's the terrible weather and the haze. Even my throat now feels irritated and I hate this time of the year really. Worse, my internet connection is irritaing me as well cos it keeps DC! arghzzz this week is suppose to be a good week but haix. everything went downhill after my birthday, haha. ok nothing much la, just the stupid headache. In the process of brainstorming how to write a 1000
word essay on my interest in the media... erm. seems like an easy topic
but where should I start from?!?! Survivor? that seems like the easiest
way to start but nothing very unique leh. maybe im jus wasting time doing
useless things. I hope that the uni tuition fees gets frozen this year,
den no need to pay yay!
Recently shi ying told me Mike looking for latest chinese pop songs to play for Esplanade... they already listed Bei Pan (how to play this kind of song?!?!) and Ru Yan from Little Nyonya (that's a good choice!) and I suggested Hai Jiao OST. These songs are pretty standard la, no tu po xing... u know what is latest and nice?! of course is the Band of the Year - DA ZUI BA! hahaha Jie guo lei Jie guo lei and the latest addictive song - Jing Gu Zou oh jing gu zou~ hhahaha, but sure cannot play that cos the music is stupid. ok im going to zzz le. tired n sick.

Okay I know what happened to the previous post, it didn't save!!! I type a freaking long post arghs! Something is very wrong with my HTML editor recently, actually my whole com. Weird~! the post should be about how my sensei got scolded by her mum because in Japan, disposing waste requires you to separate them into various bins for recycle. Food is one bin on its own, then plastic, wooden chopsticks etc. Even the mcdonald curry sauce, the lid on top is made from different material from the plastic below, must tear it out and separate them o.0! She says singapore is so convenient, just throw into dustbin, haha. so true! That night James Li Xin Sophia Angeline and I sat down at vivo on v.day. oh before that we sat at Kim Gary for a full 3 hours, haha so guilty rite, deprive the other couples of their seats, hahaha. so evil. anyway, at vivo i had to drink a litre of apple juice because Amelia came up with this idea of buying a super HUGE beer mug for me, it can contain 1.5 litre k! it's that huge! Li xin they all bought me a polo shirt, quite interesting design. Today Xiao Pang weilin jac help me celebrate by having a spread of sushi... omg. eat until i soo full la. i think this yr my bday like 'grow fat day' because i was forced to drink 1 litre of apple juice on sat, today is alot alot of sushi and lastly a small birthday cake. Back in NZ, i bought those soaps for souvenirs and my fren ask me why i buy that, i say it's for the girls la. where got guy cherish and appreciate such soaps. n i really had a hard time counting how many to buy, i just take whatever that's left on the shelf ... lolx! ok those soaps not cheap okay! THE POINT is... it's easier to buy stuff for girls than for guys, haha. i tell them, i buying for my female frens, they half-believe o.0 haha. and another
huge thing, Survivor is back! 18th season ... woo~ n i'm super excited
this season because when the finale comes, it'll be my ORD so i'm
essentially only 12 episodes away. ok u must understand the psychology of
a survivorfreak... time pass faster when there's survivor because each
week, just watch the show... from tribal challenges to twists, mergers and
finally down to final 4. i'm not as obsessed as before but it's still a
weekly ritual, even though this season i have a gut feeling that it's
ultra boring. 18 seasons on, i think even have trouble naming the
seasons and the winners. Richard Hatch (Borneo), Tina Wesson (Australian
Outback), Ethan Zohn (Africa), Vecepia Towery (Marquesas), Brian Heidik
(Thailand), Jenna Morasca (Amazon), Sandra (Pearl Islands), Amber (All
Stars), Chris (Vanuatu), Tom Westman (Palau), Danni
(Guatemala), black guy i forgot his name (Exile Island), Aras
(Fiji), Yul (Panama), Todd (China), Parvati (Fans vs Favourites), Bob
(Gabon), winner 18 (Toucantine). i wont even try to name the amazing race,
heh! back in sec sch days i watch everything... survivor amazing race
american idol the bachelor the mole the apprentice america's next top
model (i know james still watches that... biatchy show, haha!) joe
millionaire for love or money the family temptation island paradise hotel
big brother n a lot a lot more. now its more dramas... even my dad watched
Mo Nu You Xi - the korean comedy drama~ he win le lo.
oh n i must dedicate one para for xiao pang because
she can hao lian her Nokia handphone with wifi feature which she was
trying so hard to get online while at ichiban boshi, haha. it has many
many features but i only heard about the wonderful joystick or whatever
that's in the middle that's really sensitive and good to use and the
symbian OS which doesn't lag as much as windows mobile.
ok dun ask me what i've been
donig the past few days, i myself also dunno, just at home surfing
youtube, listening to jap songs, watching korean dramas and the new yang
chen lin & wang dong chen show... suppose to scan my transcript and
all but argh! jus put up some photos here, the rest are in facebook so pls
go there n see
k!

Singapore is
so freaking hot! arghzz. The moment I reach home I was sweating like a
human fountain. The final day of R&R at Rotorua and Auckland was
really short, kena cheated kind. Took the gondola up the hills of Rotorua
and it offered a splendid view of the lake. Middle of the lake is a
volcano, amazing. Then luge down the hill... I heard its much more fun
than Sentosa's so I'm not gonna try sentosa's.
At Auckland,
it's really small and a milder version of Sydney. It's not as lively and
there really isn't much to shop or play. Saw their town hall, colonial
buildings, ferry terminal and the shopping stretch. Their red light
district also cannot compare to King's Cross. However, the surprising
thing is that there are many Koreans! The hotel we stayed in was at the
prime CBD area but it's really old and the horrors of the 2 elevators...
omg. old and small and only 2! really like Crest Hotel, thankfully there's
no instruments to move.
10 hour flight
back to Sg. Air NZ's entertainment system is really haix, after 5 hours or
so it'll lag and the movies can't be watched. jia lat loh! I watched The
Boy in striped Pajamas, very nice art film about a German boy moving to
the countryside and meets a Jewish boy from a concentration camp... which
he thought was a 'farm'. 27 dresses was really funny as well, I like
Katherine Heighl in the show... Watched other shows like W. which is a
funny mock at Bush and how he grew up as a farm boy and fail at
everything.
Jap class was
wooo~ 3 lessons crash into one, omg. luckily I did my revision at NZ and
tried to pick it up... the te-form. really difficult sia! and the
listening is getting harder and harder. maybe it was vday so everyone was
feeling a little 'out of study mood' and chit chat around haha. my class
is really quite fun cos the pace is slow and can afford to talk and have
fun la basically. my sensei said how she
6th Feb
It's been more than a week here in NZ and everything has been so far so good, except for the hard disk which I'll elaborate later. 2nd day of CNY I left home around 4.30pm, alone as usual. Reached the airport and received my ticket. All the while I'm pretty much alone because I'm in a different group of seats. Quite used to flying le so not much problem there. Air NZ is pretty decent, with blanket and pillow and all. But the entertainment system omg... jia lat. Mine was so laggy that the screen can't display properly, so the air steward went to restart the system but the problem persisted. Then I changed a seat and the SAME thing happened again, arghZ! So I just slept since it was getting late. Woke up the next morning and it worked, so I watched Kite Runner. Didn't get to watch the ending but i'm very tempted to read the book. Reached Auckland airport and it's a small airport like Sydney's. Nothing much, saw an arcade and a photo film shop. Boarded the bus to Auckland for lunch where we ate at a HK restaurant called Ocean City Restaurant. Abit scary cos the memories of Sydney's terrible tasting Ru Jia Chun still haunts me. I'm always wary of eating Chinese food at western places. It's a buffet lunch and I just went straight to the dim sum corner. Most of the dim sum taste normal lo, like Sg's... har gao, wonton, fen chang etc. The egg tart, omg! GOOD! as good as HK! outside crispy crispy and inside the egg is so soft... luv the egg tart there. It cost $14 aussie for buffet lunch which i think is really cheap here... but bear in mind they have 12.5% GST here. Didn't get to go Victoria Park market even though it was just beside the restaurant, argh, no time. It was afternoon so the weather still okay, like 20 degrees. On the bus, whoa the sceneries... for about 5 hours sia. Non stop. Can see the farms, like those paintings of green hills... everything is so green. Lots of cows on the way, can see more cows than you see people here. Occassionally there's sheeps and horses. Then the mountainous area was pretty scary, you can see the S shape sign which means curve roads ahead and it says "Next 7km" whoa! lolx. Saw the Lake Taopo which is like a super duper duper HUGE lake and it's so nice. Many people just sitting by the side of the lake and there are some shops along the beach, like Bondi beach but the lake is so much bigger. The bus had to go around the lake, so the right side is the lake... the left side is a tall mountain or cliff. At each there there's a number like 75 which means 75 degrees. The smaller the number, the sharper the turn. scary... the bus was still going quite fast u know. Finally saw Mt Raupehu and Mt 'Doom'. Which meant that i'm near camp... kinda dread the feeling cos we have to sleep in tent. Went into the tent, it's quite okay, much better than I expected cos the one in Tekong is terrible. Safari beds but there's sleeping bag cos it's still very comfortable. The showers, omg... machiam hotel. There's washing machine, shower and a sink and it's single! Hot water... better than the camp one la. the best time of the day is showering time. Everyone is given long john, fleece jacket and gloves. I have my own as spare but not used... maybe RnR den will use bah. The first night it was 4 degree but there's air heater in the tentage. All these toilets and tentages are commercial ones, I guess the kiwis likes to go camping, so have all this kind of things. Singapore those mobile toilet should really change to these! Cook house is in a huge white tent, think of those Pasir Malam or Downtown east. Only complain is the huge flies which fly around... there's the fly killer and it really kills a lot of them. 3 of them at the door and 2 at the back, so when you hear a buzz, it means that one is killed. Quite sadistic but humourous when you hear a long buzz means it's stuck at the metal being electrocuted - MONSTER KILL! or two at one go... double kill! lolx. Breakfast is pretty standard. There's bread and toast, congee on the sides so it's free flow. The main breakfast usually consist of bacon, omelette, noodles, or sometimes fried eggs. Not a fan of western breakfast. Lunch and Dinner usually there's beef/lamb and chicken/fish. 2 main dishes to choose la, some people dun like beef or lamb ma... but beef here is like staple for them. I usually eat the beef or lamb or fish.. the fish is quite fresh... the beef and lamb also red and juicy kind and they really cook it well. Oh the salmon is good also. Then there's potato in different forms everyday. Mash potato, fried potato, steam potato, potato salad, fries... so many lah! everyday is potato! Then the standard veggie.. like sg de nothing special. Then at the side there's SALAD BAR! sometimes is garden salad, sometimes is coleslaw, or pasta salad, or this weird cold beans and bean sprouts. free flow! i luv salad. For dinner and sometimes night snacks there's desserts like cream puff, pizza, brownies, fritatta (taste like Murtabak cos it has lamb meat, onion, eggs etc but there's potato again), truffle cakes, black forest, toffee cheese cake which was the BEST! wah everyday must CONTROL and resist the temptation cos it's really really good. not that im afraid of growing fat but shy la... later they all look disgusted at me how... I'm still hoping to eat fresh NZ oysters... that time at sydney fish market didn't have enough, hehe. There's a small convenience store here which papers magazines (newspaper cost $1.60 here!) chocolates snacks tidbits ($5 for a pack of huge M&Ms!) coke ($2+) or alcohol (almost same price as coke!) and SIM cards which I paid about $60... had to share with my fren cos really ex sia. One sms cost 30c... but still cheaper than M1 lah, 60c per sms. Then they also sell furnitures and tv and hi fi sets! im not kidding! there's a mirror that's like bigger than me... going for 2k. Cos it's like a town in here, the army people stay in their bunks got tv and radio and all. There's even a library with a very fierce librarian cos she always goes "Guys, you're suppose to use for only 15 min cos there's people waiting behind". On average all kiwis are friendly except librarians. haha. As there's a 5 hour time difference, it's 2am when I wake up here at 7. It's dinner time for me when it's lunch for others in sg. Then the internet connecting on this lappy only works fast enough in the morning, so it's in the middle of the night in sg. Luckily those cat high frens are scattered all over the world. Talked to wei xuan (in Germany) and Peng Fei (Toronto, Canada). funny la, cos 9am here. is 9pm germany and 3pm canada... which is 4am sg. Oh and the cook
house, before you enter there's a sanitizor with alcohol gel. Wah super
cooling and hygenic. the staff there are our age, university students and
they come from all over the world like Sweden, Chile, Swiss etc. Cos it's
like their holiday and so they fly over to NZ for vacation and find a job.
2 months work in the cook house and they pay $14 per hour! So imagine you
work 2 shifts which is 16 hours... u calculate lo, each month really a
lot! Then they stay in camp free accomodation and food... so that 2 months
they can save up to 6k and then the 3rd month they just travel and fly
back, covering their air fare.
Tekko is doing
the same this year. He says NTU offers this summer internship where he'll
be going US to work for 2 months and the 3rd month is free and easy. Have
to pay an initial 3k lah but the money can earn back ma and looks good on
the resume also. Hmm...so interesting right, I also want to do that. haha,
maybe after I ord in May can fly overseas and look for work. come back in
aug just in time for school, hehe im day dreaming. Ok la I've flown this
year... must keep up my once-a-year take airplane goal.
Okay so when I'm back on 13th... it's be night liaoz, 6pm reach back sg. 14th I have to go for Jap class, catch up with what i've missed the last two weeks. 15th- 17th I'm free, 17th night have to book in ... moi birthday so I should be eating at home. |
