19th July
Went back to CO in the morning to practice a little bit. How long have I not went for combine ??? very long. haix. After that i attended my Jap class, suddenly the learning curve shot up a lot... lots of things to learn and remember le, i'm not complaining yet. have to put in effort and really study, or else will be like teckie... cannot catch up! muahaha. its good to be learning something and having homework to do, or else my brain will really turn rusty. Getting confused between the use of desu-ne and desu-yo.

Met up with James and went to shop shop a bit then went to eat at MOF again. Cos we realize that for vegetarians... MOF is more friendly bcos the menu will denote which dishes are veggie only. Xiao Na and her friend came along too, Sophia joined us after her class. James de is veggie bento while mine is Unagi stone bowl. Interestingly enough, you must keep stirring the rice or else it'll get burnt. The stone is really hot! At the end of our dinner, there was fireworks because of NDP preview... cool dinner hor, lolx!

After the dinner, we made our way to the National Museum for the inaugural Singapore Night Festival opening. Yes you heard it right, National Museum! It's been almost a decade since I visited the museum (if you exclude the Japanese film fest we accidentally trodden in for) and the whole SMU Campus Green was really crowded. I'm so surprise that so many people know of this event. Mr. Wang told me it's nice la, the Dancing in the Sky performance by an Italian troupe. Indeed it was... in fact it is a lot better than the Arts Festival opening performance! Dancing in the sky has 2 segment, the first part has 5 acts of aerial acrobatics. Set against the national museum, the aerial ballet and acrobatics are really graceful and enthralling. They can even 'fly' down to touch and interact with the audience... real cool. The classic one is of course a man and lady dancing in the sky to those classical italian opera singer. The one I like is the flying piano and the dancer, you can see the piano turning and floating in the sky. Sugoi-ne!

The second segment is on the campus green itself ... on land. The first act consist of a water screen, ala Musical fountain where they project images of celebrities onto it. kinda boring~ The highlight had to be the water bowl acrobatic which really wow-ed the entire audience and received repeated applause. applause from Singaporeans is very hard to earn de, so they did really well.

Standing right in the middle of the museum is David. I took it from another angle and it is not made of marble, i have no idea why it's red! The national museum now consist of a few galleries such as the film& wayang which featured old movie tickets, pictures of the old Cathay and Lido etc. Then there is the fashion gallery which showcase the traditional costumes and the 70s a-go-go costumes which my mum probably wore before, haha. Quite interesting to visit the museum in the night lah, more relaxing but it was rather crowded... free mah. Okay la, the entire experience quite okay. The Night festival started off with a bang, really well... I really like the opening performance which is very mainstream very mass appealing. Next week there's more, like outdoor Hairspray movie screening!

13th July
Just had another gathering with the 4-4 people and some other cat high people at Samuel Yeo's 21st birthday. Wei Xuan came back from Germany after his first few months of language course. Cool~ Got to see Joel Toh and Chor BoYang also. Poor tekko lost his luggage from Taiwan, omg. Imagine all the new clothes and souvenirs that you buy - gone! Claim insurance also no use lo, no new clothes... heart pain sia, hopefully Taiwan side can find back his luggage and it's not transported to tuvalu or somewhere. I once almost got a delayed baggage at Laos... it was scary! Samuel Yeo got dunk'd into the pool, so expected but he still act act -.- Quite long never see dom...  just chit chat a while and talk to everyone. Like how I told bertinus... dun do things that you'll regret, it's best to make other people happy. very hard to explain to him but im sure CO ppl all know... anything can happen anytime. During previous gatherings I usually dun talk to dom or weiming etc but this time i put in the effort to, especially since so many of them are flying overseas and probably won't get to meet for years to come. We ate sooo much food omg. stingrays otah chicken wings fried bee hoon cake marshmallows and this time there's sweet potato! kool, next time bbq must have sweet potato, it's nice!

Today went to eat lunch with Yi Jun at Soup spoon... his belated birthday treat. This month I'm spending a LOT on birthday gifts and presents and all. broke~ o.0 Walk into Muji want to buy something also must think twice, haha. Didn't even watch Red Cliff lahz, haix. Then met up with the Firewire gang, so long since we last met! Eve and Kelly are missing due to assignments. Yiting looked burnt out from all the production work and maxine was sexy with her green dress. Went to eat at shokudo, first time there and the food there seems really decent. The burger was huge! look at teckie tryin to stuff everything into one bite, haha impossible! We started playing with her fan which she bought from kino, lolx. KK came up with the idea to do a 2009 firewire calendar, hey hey sounds cool. must find some place to take my photo and strike a pose, bahz! any idea? teckie ask me to help her cosplay some guy from hitman reborn... hmm?! it'll be my first time cosplaying haha so exciting. Syazwan ordered some sakura ebi pasta while maxine's salmon cream pasta looks ultra delicious too! just take a look :

Then we took more pictures and more pictures with our cameras, went shop shop a bit at marina square. As I was walking with gong gong pass this bridal studio, this stupid guy came to gave me a flyer o.0! Do i look that old enough to get married... syaz and kk were laughing so loud lah. dotz! then we went down to Suntec to chill out at this Hwaiian cafe Maui Wowi which serves hawaiian coffee. dun seem to taste much different lah. den i was figuring out how to use a DSLR, it's quite interesting and different lah. once KK send me the photos maybe i'll load it up and u guys can compare the quality. I'm quite satisfied with my Pentax for now.

After the chill out I went to meet sophia and her classmate Joanna for dinner at Paragon. Ate soup spoon againz, twice in a day wowee. broke broke le. haha. then walk around paragon lah and into those super expensive shops like A|X and CK. first time walk into A|X leh, really not cheap lo. Then i found the banana republic store, really cool shop and i luv it alot, too bad there's only that one store in Sg. First time there's someone that says "Good Evening Sir" to me... whoa zai bo... good impression of the brand and store. Normally u walk into a store a paragon, they'll give u the snobbish 'u can't afford to buy it' look. this one really makes a difference. Then we went to sit down at Starbucks... whoa another looong time since i sat down at starbucks. So sad that now starbucks have to sack and close down so many stores in US... due to over expansion and a slow economic growth. So at the end of the day, I never got to watch Red Cliff... dotz!

Here are some of the pictures from last week, li xin jac and joanne's birthday celebration. a huge group of girls and me  again. then these peole always say they never see me with male friends... dotz! look up there clearly hor... those are my guy friends. LOL! ok it's 3am, tmr still hafta attend jap class. have i done my homework (shukudai).

10th July
Sorry but I forgot where I took the test from le! Gomen-ne~ Rushing for time this weekend and I missed out Lin Zhi Ling's appearance at the gala-premiere of <Red Cliff>. 赤壁之戰 based on Romance of the 3 kingdoms. I finished the first book of Yi Zhong Tian already, haha. Sophia was kind enough to help me buy the 2nd part of the book, yay. I even picked up my very old Shi Ji which I never finished reading ... it has the Jin Ke Ci Qing Wang story. Why the sudden interest in cheena stories? i oso dunno, haha. juz felt good to actually read chinese books leh, although the words inside are sometimes super cheem.

After reading Yi Zhong Tian I must say... a lot of the stories in Romance of the 3 kingdoms are just stories... fake~ imagined... or over exaggerated and hyperbole. The worst is Dynasty Warrior, haha... they cannot cast magic and spells! LOL. but ya, i started to love San Guo since young because I played the SEGA game San Guo Zhi. I can still hymm the song lahz, stuck in my brain since young. Used to play it for many many hours and my neighbour also came over to play house to play. Like 10 hours a day or maybe more... until my dad was so fed up that he used a hammer to smash the whole SEGA console. my bro was very sad lahz, den eventually after a long time later he persuaded my dad to buy Playstation, haha. but we also learnt not to get over addicted to playing games lah.

And oh yes, this week the news had all been about organ trading... seriously it's soo amoral. I watched this documentary when I was working at Discovery Channel, those poor people kena cheated by being paid only a small percentage of the money used to buy their organs cos the middle man kapo most of the money. Then the operation is soo shady that they just remove the kidney and sew it back, give them panadol and the money and that's it. Many of them used the money to buy tools to farm or pay their debts but later cannot work at all because of the after effects of the operation... meaning they're not given proper care and had to work... resulting in a worse situation than before. EXPLOITED!

Just receive a lot of photos from Jac. No time to upload yet. Just did a very simple personality test which contains 9 questions and it seems to be very accurate. The yellow words are the conclusions drawn from the answers in the test.

Your view on yourself:

Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.
In camp yah, it'l probably how I perceive myself that I'm hiding myself. Good listener, NAH! I hardly listen to anyone leh, nobody come console in me.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
true, never judge the appearance. whether that makes me attractive...errrr... u say leh?

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
not true to what i know but I would really PREFER to know someone first. i guess i would really do that when i want to commit in the future.

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?
err... i really dunno about this yet.

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.
LOL u know better than I do that this is SO true!

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
Regular job arh... i thought the right job for me is more of what I want to do, so that is not very accurate. I know what I want to do and that is important yah.

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.
Success, hmm. yah confidence says a lot and im rather confident that I can do well in my area of interest, after NTU that is, hah.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.
First line is SOOOOO true! 100% spot on man. I use anger to cover up how I feel... don't really remember an example. okay maybe im not just afraid but i hate things that i can't control... so does that means anger?! Lol den it's true.

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.
true self, yah is like that. Unpredictable, getting more n more true but I'd rather be happy more often. who doesn't?! awww shucks i cant be calm for long? quite accurate but haiz, i rather be calm for a longer while leh.

6th July
Okay now for a long post for this satisfying weekend that I have. Let's start with Weilin's MRT incident. I summarize it, details can be read from her blog. She tried to remind this mother, whose boy is making a mess with the biscuits he is eating, that food is not allowed on the train. Then the mother screamed back at her about how kaypo she is etc etc. Seriously, this kind of parents... the retribution will be suffered by the child because you're teaching him the wrong things.

We went down to Cosplay Festival, a subculture that's growing in popularity thanks to the boom in Japanese manga and anime. Sadly, this year's Cosfest does not seem as good as before, nothing too spectacular. Chin teck and Ying Xin did a performance from Hitman Reborn... i'm so out of touch with manga and anime already. Ka Ching did Cooking Mama from NDS, awesome... so simple and yet effective! Weilin suggest that if I cosplay, i should do Oriel from Card Captor Sakura... quite true hor. Here are some highlights of the better ones from Cosfest 08.

After the cosfest I went down to Aloha Changi which is near changi village... freaking ulu place! My buddy tekko's 21st birthday, he had some photos of our cat high days omg! it's sooo nostalgic lah and funny, especially seeing Daniel Lee sashaying in the canteen. quite a number of the 4-4 went la, usual gang. MinSheng is back from UNSW medicine for his winter holidays... den the funny thing was pengfei immediately went with conviction "Hey MinZheng! long time no see!" and we were all like HAR~! *bash pf* so many years le still can make such mistake. even Suah can separate the twins. im sure it'll remain a classic joke against pf for many years to come... to actually recognize the wrong twin!

Tekko's birthday cake is a chocolate UOB card, lolx. Then he went on to perform Yang Cong haha. Funny thing is during his thank you speech, he actually said about the times we had CHidol, OMG!!! that was sooo freaking embarrassing lah, how we used to actually hold our own singing sessions before the existence of kbox. we even book condominium de function room to hold our CHidol event haha. I remember we used to have virtual amazing race also. CHidol is that one thing that bonded so many of us together. I missed out MinZheng's return last month... so did MinSheng lah, cos the holiday schedule for UK and Aussie different so they didn't get to meet. But melvin and the rest got to meet up with minzheng. Then MinSheng asked "So how is he ?" HAHA! Imagine a brother asking another person about his twin brother.

We're talking about UCL and UCLA... branzy was joking about his interview where he mistaken UCLA for UCL. UCL university college of London and University of California, Los Angeles is sooo far apart leh. I also didn't realise that studying medicine overseas can be so freaking expensive, like 500k! that's half a million for 6 years~ Weiming going to UCL to study medicine mahz. Peng Fei is flying to toronto this month. Mel and Branzy going US next month... branzy was showing us his visa. The remaining few of us stuck in singapore loh... alaric flew off to uniMelb le... actually i got offered to uniMelb but the mass comm course there doesn't seem that good leh. Andy Lee and the rest just came over from camp or just ended their camp. I was like 'huh? army camp?' and then realise they were talking about their orientation camp lahz! haixxx... such is the detachment i have from the class, as usual... ever since i step into poly i lost track of their SPA discussions and A lvls stuff and army stuff and now uni stuff. Pray I can skip one year in NTU lahx.

Today went to Fish & Co. to celebrate Li Xin's birthday and then we have our 2nd half at party world. Fish & Co. as usual, I don't really like their food at all, there's no oysters or mussels today... So the seafood platter looks so freaking small, kena cheated. Even the stingray that Angeline ordered is nothing spectacular. The only reason we chose Fish & Co. is because of the special celebration that it has. The entire crew will perform this hakka-like rap while LiXin had to stand ON the chair holding a sparkle. hahz! Everyone was looking at her lah, even the crowd from outside the restaurant. Then she had to blow while standing on the chair, the cake on the table... she can't bend or squat, heehee. Weilin bought some trick candles where the flames will never be blown out, haha. Then li xin blew and blew and really tried so hard... when half the candles are blown out... after a while the flames remerged and became even stronger! LOL even the crew was laughing, the candles melted all the way almost. Then I gave a huge blow and took out the candles quickly... hey i blow suona de okay... the whole thing was sooo funny lahz. After that we went to party world cwp to celebrate Joanne's and Jacqueline's birthday. Had to separate cos Li xin de is 21st mahz... more special for her. Sang some of the old FIR songs, woo! and had such a fun time trying to biao my falsetto with the Cao ge songs, lolx. Jacqueline's present is a doraemon (duh!) cushion and a Canon Eos 40D book that teaches her how to do photography and all the tricks with the camera. Joanne de are winnie the pooh, yeehor, tigger and piglet plushies that holds "happy birthday to joanne". Yee Hor is so cute! Photos are still with Jac!

5th July
Supported Chin Teck and Rabbit for their cosfest performance. I went down with weilin and yingcong lah, thankfully we were early enough manx. Or else we would have missed their performance because it was earlier than planned. Poor liyi arrived on time and missed out the performance. Photos are still uploading... After that went to Tekko's 21st bday to meet up with the 4-4 ppl, this is the final month before minsheng, brandon, weiming, melvin, peng fei all fly overseas le. more about the cosfest and the birthday tmr, now is 2.30am.... zzzz~ tmr another 3 bdays to celebrate.

4th July
Went for combine practice on Wednesday, reach NYP already 9pm le lah, thanks to my full time job ppl that drag and drag. Luckily mike was practising Kutu and I came in just at the right time when he practiced the last part, heeehee. Ying Cong recited the poem in Canto which is sooo funny, haha. Then his canto also cmi, i think it's not meant to be read that way that's why. And that's why happens if you revoke your HK citizenship, wan yi must be laughing in the dark. Things seems to be movin on ... hopefully we can all go HK and be back safe and sound.

This year there's sooo many chalets that I've lost count and can't remember who is having it where le. After numerous returns to Aloha Loyang, tomorrow Tekko's is Aloha Changi o.0 and then next week is Samuel Yeo's which I dunno where den next next next wk is Bertinus. I asked... issit Aloha Changi again... he said no... Costa Sands Changi. faintz. Yes and August there's still swee kuan Sophia Angeline and all. i like birthday celebrations... but i dun like chalets, especially one after another. too much BBQ and buffets... cough cough.

Next week is my much-awaited Red Cliff. Add on to my sudden passion for three kingdoms thanks to the book (my next chinese fictional venture shall be Shi Ji 史记。which is a compilation of all the historical stories like Jing Ke ci Qin Wang. Dun ask me where this sudden cheena interest come from... maybe it's the brainwash from CCTV, hah.

Went to eat Soup Spoon with weilin before we hunt for presents for Lixin Joanne and Jac. weilin ate the bread bowl, which is essentially a bowl made of bread and then there's soup in it. I ate crusty pot pie, the pie is very nice and crispy even though its plain. Starting to like soup spoon more n more le, but the seats are always limited. Photos still with weilin.

1st July

Been stuck in camp for a week on standby, really going crazy le. I am going to finish reading my 易中天品三国! So fast right, whoaha im so amazed by myself also. but for Angeline Teckie and DanielPoh... today quite emotional for me and a lot of miscommunication. im still glad that you guys care. will talk to you individually. im really mentally quite drained liao, hopefully tomorrow can go CO combine. So hard to believe that one year ago, we just received the gold award at the opera house. Now everything is jus crazy but time is passing so slowly.

Saw the invitation of CH homecoming on facebook which is so cartoon. Very long never go back le, since last year the CHMA bah. Saw an email from my ASEAN friends, miss them a lot too, been so long since we had the exchange program. Wonder when I go NTU will i have such opportunity also, jia you jia you.

Was talking to teckie jus now and having been through the two bizarre
cases, we've learnt to treat people and say words that wont make us regret if anything should happen. A weirder thing is we've started to think about what happens if we pass away, in a sense of humor kinda way... she wants her comic books all to be burnt with her. i want a live telecast of my memorial service so that my frens overseas can watch it. this is something that only we ourselves can relate to. talk to other people our age, they dunno how to response... only we all can understand... and the worst is having 2 within 5 months... nobody else will understand us and what we're going through. crazy crazy year this is.

I always believe there are 2 kinds of people in this world. One who listen to stories and one to tell stories. Today I heard a new quote
'有故事的人才能做出灿烂的作品。' My very dynamic and interesting life... I always belong to the one that tell stories. Maybe I'll embark on a piece of work really soon, which may take at least half a year or up to a year. Hopefully it will turn out great, haha.
