Born to Love
23rd Apr Yesterday was learning and rapping S.H.E's Zhong Guo Hua! It's a very creative rap song that uses Tongue Twisters. Angeline and I learnt for like 4 hours, then Chin Teck rapped till 4a.m. in the morning, LOL! It's a very addictive song. Received my enlistment letter also, was kind of excited receiving it. Heaved a huge sigh of relief, 14 July BMTC 1, 8.30am. It's after my Sydney trip, save all the troubles of deferring but I gonna miss the biggest HARRY POTTER launch! Finally I'm going in, can't wait to get it over and done with. Waiting for my NUS letter, which got lost because they called to say I didn't put my unit number. Wonder where is it now... it's taking so long!
16th Apr Right now... I'm suppose to mug my advance driving test but I don't seem to have the energy to mug anymore. Hwang Jini is too addictive! So are the WaT and Koike Teppei songs. Next monday I'll start my driving lessons, ha! Hope I don't crash the car... I never do well on Daytona or any driving game - except Chocobo Fantasy Race! Why can't we just 'drive' chocobos instead?! They can swim and fly and run over large landscapes... OK I'm back to mugging.
Some of the cello cases were left behind and I picked them up, along with this junior. Later I asked him his age and he told me he's only 12...sec 1! I thought he was 15 or so, ha. So I asked him to guess my age, he said 17 and I told him 20. The reaction was quite amusing, haha. Mr E. Heng also had to carry a double bass up. I suddenly remembered the time when he cried on the bus at Hawaii, being too worried about us for the competition. Cat High played the set piece ... not excellent or the best. The choice piece was weird, like they were all possessed. No melody no tempo, just sound effects. It was captivating nonetheless and I heard the piece is very hard to play. Some parts like the sha chui and bell were dam cool. Honestly, I couldn't assess the standard but they all just look possessed, the song was plain creepy. When it was time for announcement, they asked all the schools to settle down or else they won't release the result - the schools would have to come back tomorrow - LOL! Kids are still kids, so gullible. The guy started announcing... Zhong Hua gold, Anglican gold, Dunman High gold-with-honors, ACS barker gold (bark bark bark! the boys went) and some girls screamed for them. They BHB stood up and thank like some boxing star... the emcee said "ACS boys, please settle down!" LOL. Oh their uniform are nice, japanese style...rich what. Chin teck prefer the prunes... ask her what that means. Then Bedok South gold and I started to panic... so many gold awards! What if Cat High doesn't get gold?! Ngee Ann gold...(they weren't cheering or happy)... Ahmad Ibrahim silver... Silver?!?! Ahmad Ibrahim was better than Ngee Ann lo! seriously! panic panic... Mayflower got gold - hurray for Mike! Catholic High School - Gold with HONORS! I literally jumped on my seat and hit Ronald quite hard I think. After that, I couldn't really remember what happened but I was too ecstatic and a huge sigh of relief. I mean, I am not the one who got the gold with honors or I put in any effort at all for this SYF. Once I reached outside, Long lao shi just went "Alex!!!" and she hugged me, haha. I almost wanted to cry too, so happy for her. Suddenly I realized that the one who put in the most effort and the most stressed is her, all these years, even as we graduate she continued to work harder. CHSCO was set up end of 1999. SYF 2001 bronze, 2003 silver, 2005 gold, 2007 gold with honors. Her effort really put the smiles on all the boys and fulfilled the dream.
Online I talked to Charlie
and he also said... he couldn't understand why he feel so touched. As
alumni, it's a different sort of satisfaction and feeling because we
don't get the gold with honors or what. But I guess, and we both agree,
the old boys paved the way and step by step, SYF by SYF, the CO
improved. But most of it still comes from Long lao shi~! 苦尽甘来... I'm so
happy for her! |
