Okay I know most of you would probably think I'm mad but I went to watch Cape No. 7 in the cinema, even though I've already watched it online last week. Yes it was a wise decision because watching it online, you missed out so many parts of the story and the joke. Watching in cinema is sooo much funnier, I think the cinema was filled with joyce's laughter and I was also laughing so hard when Mao Bo was playing the tambourine. It's really good... and it's hard to describe what kind of movie it is because it's jus... different, a mixture of comedy romance nostalgia music everything. Joyce Jac Angline Lixin all enjoyed the show... i really love the OST. Next movie I wanna watch will be BOLT.

Today i pon CO again... last week was Long's wedding, this week is because I am involved in my first ever cosplay as ryohei sasagawa of hitman reborn. It's the most simplest character i guess and I still had trouble getting the hairspray, so noobz rite. but the wig turn out fine and I look really so different. Me and KK ran through a scenerio where Yiting cannot recognize me at all, LOL, trying to imagine how she'll react if she saw me. We waited for the girls for about 2 hours, omg. Got to know Kenny, Wilson, Fiona, Crash who're all really cool ppl. It looks simple but doing the photoshoot for the whole day is really tiring and especially in blazer and the hot hot sun, omg! and having the climb up laselle zomg. by evening time i was really like so tired! brain fried up liaoz, photos are still being developed but i really jus look different, haha. not me.

Went to eat MOF and we waited quite a while bcos there's 11 of us. Seafood cold ramen, wooo! rox rox. i luv mof. then we were talking about fruits and teckie dun eat durian. fiona said "u know they eat durian in survivor for one of the challenges" n i was running all 17 seasons through my mind... WHICH EPISODE DID THEY EAT DURIAN?! i have never seen it, how can that be? it really gave me a scare ... den she said... no no it's fear factor. LOL phew! how can i possibly not know if they eat durian. haha. Crash tempted me to watch Cape No. 7 for the third time.... so tempting but i think i jus rather come home and watch survivor first, haha.

Okay I've been trying to fix the computer, the zen and the camera which are not recognized arghz. Irritated and fed up, jac said it so correctly... using windows makes u a repairman. I'm going for a macbook next year if i ever buy a laptop, arghz!

I cleaned up those dirty boxes under the table... all those shoe boxes that my bro bought, cleared the table of antique letters and coupons and what have you. It looks so much cleaner now... Next week or next next week when I'm free it's gonna be the wardrobe cos I can never find some of the clothes that I want! It's over flooded and bursting and my mum hangs like 3 shirts and a pant on one hanger cos there's no more space to put more hangars! How to find the shirt I wanna wear?! arghz. I must organize it better before xmas.

It's my first sitting through a Catholic church wedding or service-or-sort, it's really very different from a protestant church wedding. Okay I've only been through a church wedding only once and that was my aunt's when I was 4? I was the 'ring boy' or some sort, had to hold this heart shape cushion and walk along the aisle to deliver the rings.

Okay first my heartiest congrats to Long lao shi and Mr Paul Ng. 6 years le, I've known Long lao shi for 6 years also, but kena cheated by her for 3 yrs la! In sec sch, she kept telling us Mr Paul Ng is her uncle, that's why they so close. Bleahx, after we graduate then 'enlightened' and realize that they're actually together. You know, in sec sch u're jus so naive that u listen to what teacher say and take it as it is. haha, n how can we be sure they're dating or not... dan chun de wo men! When we graduate and we know le arh, she forbidded us from telling the juniors... until they graduate. Lolx so batch by batch realize they get cheated as they graduate frm the sch, lolx... though i think the story later was changed to 'cousins'. I heard that when Haiyan was invited to the wedding, he still blur blur like "I thought you are cousins?" lolx. Long lao shi... no more lies le! Now Mrs. Ng liaoz.

Reunion of a lot alot of cat high co members... and i'm the OLDEST batch... ala Long lao shi's first batch. Before me there's Gabriel's batch but the co was only 3 months old when we join the sch... so i'm the oldest batch around liaoz, along with zicheng chinglee guanghong junjie. ahhh~ i see jun wei finish A lvl ... ok still not so bad. I see those young young ones still in CO now, omg... I'M A DINOSAUR! prehistoric!!! Poor qiquan kena activated halfway, lolx. Oh and a lot a lot of cat high teachers also, my chem, math, english, history teachers all there lolx though some have left the school. Mr Paul Ng never taught me geog though... Very funny lah the priest when he talked about how Long lao shi and Mr Paul Ng are loving teachers who are dedicated in their work. He asked... who are Mr Ng's students... half rose their hands. Who are Long's students den we rose our hands... lolx. Then the priest went ... oh u all seem to be from the same school ~ erm... DUH!!! haha jus the group got like 60 over ppl bah. Plus Mr Paul Ng himself is an old boy and his old classmates, lolx... like some cat high reunion sia. thank god hak boon not there, bleahx!

My first time going through a catholic session so quite unique lah, cannot comment whether a religion practice is good or bad or weird or not... is their practice mah. But I must say... the Father really young! and his chinese OMG. I wonder why Long lao shi never type a script for him first, lolx. We all couldn't stop laughing when he tries to speak in chinese... he says the bride and groom must be nervous, i think he more nervous. he thanked the father and mother for bringing up 'Zhe Ge nu er' sooo... grammatically wrong! And the best part really goes to "Let's invite the parents as 'Zhen ren'" it should be Jian Zhen Ren... not Zhen Ren! Zhen Ren only use in courts, not church! ok but other than that the ceremony well smoothly... aww so nice. like FINALLY! haha. then another funny thing that happen was... most of the guests left after the buffet but we still toking to her ma, den she had to attend to something la, before she left us she jus throw her bouquet of flowers. Usually should be girls who catch but unfortunately there were only boys left. She jus throw lah, no warning... so I siam... charlie they all also. den this guy, new batch la i dunno his name... jus dunno n landed in his hand, LOL! dam funny sia. where got guy catch the flowers de! funny loh.

After that I went to meet Li Xin and Jasmine at the anime fair at suntec convention, omg the queue is freaking long. They went in the morning le, so i din bother to buy the ticket n go in, they say inside is disappointing lah. Then I saw samuel chan at the book fair. Morning i saw kenneth and bryan wong and a group of cat high guys playing bball at khatib. Later evening before dinner i saw khai nam, ask him why nv go long's wedding, lolx. Then I saw Andrew! lolx... li xin and jasmine jus stunned i see so many ppl on the streets. for me, used to it le, the highest frequency is citylink mall... go there on weekend sure see ppl i know. sg too small le. lolx. today jus all happen to be cat high.

Suntec has this new archery thing which li xin is interested in but we played arcade le. quite interesting lo, the shop space is like SO small but they can squeeze out 7 lanes for shooting... amazing. Went to eat shokudo ... the jap marche... my minced beef katsu curry is not bad. After that we went to the Cathay where jasmine bought even more books and sophia joined us. and then... finally... we sat down in the sofas of starbucks, enjoyed my cup of white mocha frappe with choco chips. ahhhh~ I'm offically a starbucks addict, 1.5 mth nv drink starbucks le, keep whining and moaning that i haven go starbucks. haha, addicted liaoz lah. funny thing is, around us were people using macbooks... 3 of them! omg. it's everywhere!!! there's this uncle who was web camming with this young girl and using sign language... i guess is his daughter overseas or somewhere bah... so hmmm touching hor! Then came the best part which Jasmine and I totally enjoyed - the best about starbucks is u sit there and biatch about people who past by or seated near u.

There's this young guy who's totally 'niang' and speaks with an american accent on his macbook, then this v. chio girl in leather jacket who looks abit japanese like erika fujiwara on a laptop. so we start talking about the guy and the girl, whether they good looking etc etc. then the guy ... wah totally dam funny, listening using headphone and jus singing along like those youtube vids, hands pointing here and body shaking there. we jus kept laughing la, and sat there for like 2 hrs watching the 'comedy'. But my hypothesis is that they are also msn-ing each other and biatching about us, cos they type type type and then laugh at the same time, muz be msning each other lah. So fair fair lo, we laugh abt u, u laugh abt us... that's Starbucks. LOL.

My com is spoilt again, I have no idea why but I guess it's because the hard disk is corrupted and now... all my photos are gone. My brother's work which he needs to compile into his portfolio is also gone. Unbelievable! I've tried repairing but it gets worse each time, I'm so fed up with windows already. I need a mac!!!

Cape No. 7 is great! To me, it's like the Taiwan's answer to 200 pound of Beauty. Great songs, great plot, great acting and the melodrama that you need. It's quite funny if you understand the Taiwanese culture well enough... like the part when Van gets caught for not wearing helmet... but everyone else don't wear helmet! One guy even chiong over red light... which is like SO typical in taiwan, lolx. And the part where they residents watch performances at the CC hall and everyone was just talking... making the Tomoko (lead actress) so angry... that is so Taiwan also. I remembered once we perform in an indoor sports hall like the place in the movie, the whole atmosphere was around the same! then there's the bing lang thing, lolx. some parts i dun get it either lah. Then you have the cross-nationality romance and the colonial letters... which mirrors The Classic or Il Mare (ala The Lake House). Add in the Titanic-like ship and you have a great romance story. Pepper it with a little High School Musical like ending... chasing their passion, a hawaii-beach style concert finale. Kousuke Atari's song is so amazing and the ojisan's version also haha. The rock song and the interlude ending really like 200 pound of beauty ending loh.

> Ahhh!!! I happen to chance upon this SAT book and just looked through some of the math question and I realize, I forgot that equilateral triangles are 60 degrees on each side, so I couldn't solve the question! Let's not even talk about those root 6 = root 2 x root 3 kind of thing which I plain forgot le. Those math questions are easy for sec 4 standard but I forgot most of the things le... lolx. The English essays are like whoah... cheem topics lo, English very rusty le, bleahx.

Haven prepare anything for Long lao shi's wedding >.< and it's next sunday... oh no! Then the week after that there's teckie's de cosplay photoshoot which I also haven prepare at all. And then I have not drank starbucks for more than a month, the last time was at HKU de campus lah! Isn't that an amazing feat... not to drink starbucks for so long. rawr! Just now after class I went to Cuppage cos Angeline also having class, coincidental... i was wearing so lok kok lah, didn't expect to hang out at orchard de, like tshirt berms and sandals yah! lolx so we went to eat at this japanese stall ... gyoza, karaage and this special potato salad that has chicken in tomato sauce and it taste like kou lou yok! We ordered too much le haha and there was dinner at home, -.- guilty. haha. but i've been like deprived of spending some money for the past few weeks lah!

Having jumped around a few classes, I realize my class Murata Senseii  is the best of the all, she's the most experience. She even knows that this year de xmas deco is not as nice as last yr de loh, lolx. The senseii for the other classes are new and only half a year old. And she was saying how she learn some mandarin like 'Da Bao' when she want to buy food... LOL! Next month i'll be moving on to Basic Sem 2 le...

Hardly got someone ask me to update de lo. 5 days only leh... the previous post was hmm... like that loh, jus disappointed and it's gonna stay inside. But I still went back for sectional practice cos it's just weird if i dun go. I guess it's intrinsic in me le... anyway what i've done this week is just - mugging Jap, mugging 'Word Power' which is a book on English vocabulary, reading newspaper, reading a book on Fox News, playing carom, mugging 'Media Theories' and watching some episodes of TVB show Speeches of Silence. Rainy season very good, can stay in bunk n read n mug. I gave up the book on Free Trade because there's a lot of economics background which I lack... too cheem a book already. Media theory oso v. cheem lo but that one no choice, must digest now or else will lose out when i go to NTU.

My cupboard is now filled with lots and lots of books, now I'm getting the GMAT and this book call What they teach in Harvard Business School. Very interesting but I realize if i want to do MBA... must have good foundation in accounting and finance which i have none! hmm... GMAT is the entrance test for getting a MBA... kinda like SAT. abit early to talk about MBA hor, it requires at least 2 yrs of working experience and actually u muz be v. good to take a MBA. muahhaa. if can take jiu good lo.

Mike win le lo, expanding to a new sec sch and making us perform in the new sch, win le lo. Can't wait for xmas... hope it come soon!

I'm just disappointed for the past 2 days and actually last week too. All the "we'll watch this movie nxt time", "anything can talk to me", "2-7 is something special" words being said are just meaningless words. I remember once when MinSheng called me out of the blue and said "Eh alex shieh, i feelin dam bad now, wanna go for a swim?" one early saturday morning and i immediately left the house to swim with him. Last night was one of the night...walking out of St James, i had a lot a lot of emotions and i was feelin dam bad and it got worst when i jus went home alone. Come to think of it, almost the same thing happened last week and today as well. I guess I'ved fucked up all along and in fact, I have nothing at all.

So I'm just gonna exile myself and 'kill off' alex for a while...no CO or dinners or mahjong or k-sessions etc. - jus too disappointed with myself.

Today marks a significant change and a new chapter forward, putting back all the bad memories and burying them up. Anyway, CNN has this super cool thing which is like Starwars... the hologram news reporting. While on TV it seems like the news anchor is talking to Will.i.Am face to face, he is not. The image of Will.i.am is not projected onto the studio floor, the news anchor is probably just watching a screen of Will.i.am. However, thanks to computer graphics and effects, about 40 cameras takes down the image of will.i.am and create a 3D live cast, added as a layer onto the screen. And there you have it, 'hologram' news reporting. Well it was a really bad idea to do so for the election event because in news reporting, it is important that we see the atmosphere of where the interviewee is. What's the point of just seeing that person if he is talking "Oh it's so exciting here, there's such a huge crowd" and you see only him. I'd rather have the 2D images and see the live situation for myself. HOWEVER, I think it'll be cool if it's like a talk show or formal interview... like if they are going to interview LKY or have a forum with several guests from all over the world... they dun have to fly to the same place. It'll be like multiple video conferencing but they'll have to work out the technical issues of talking to many people at the same time. That's the only good use of this 'hologram' news casting...



And then Fox news has this huge cube with 4 screens, one on each side. I think it'll rotate and the news anchor will talk to different screen, as each one shows a different thing. Not very high tech but it's just for the pleasing of the eyes. NBC News anchor will be against a green screen as she is inserted into this virtual reality world, ala playing video game. Erm seriously...  it's just an advancement of the 2D 'weather map'. Haix, so hard to be a news anchor nowadays as they must learn how to be like a hollywood actor, do news casting against a green screen or 'projected' person who is not there.

Change has come! I was on the BBC News Radio the entire morning of the American Election. Barack Obama's speech was really exhilarating. One generation ago Martin Luther King gave the "I have a dream speech" and who would have expected a Black guy to be the next president. Well, Halle Barry had the honor of being the first african american to be awarded Oscar's Best Leading actress. But seriously, why is the world so concerned with this election?

I first came across the name Obama Barrack about 2 years ago, same for John McCain. I remembered the NTU's admission test had the question "Which of these people is not a Democrat?" a) Obama Barrack b) hillary clinton c) obama barrack d) Al Gore. Mind you it was 2 years ago and thankfully I got the question correct. At that point of time, I had never ever imagined he would become a democratic party candidate in the first place. During the primaries, I was actually hoping that Hillary would win. I guess the world is so concerned because everyone is tired of George Bush, tired of America. Sick of the Iraq war, the invisible Weapons of Mass Destruction that he claimed, Saddam Hussein died but so what?! Never ratifying the kyoto protocol...failure to recognize Sudan's genocide in time and now the financial meltdown. And seriously, Bush didn't even win the popular vote, one of the closest fight in America's history where Al Gore lost by 500+ votes in Florida and the supreme court refuse a recount. By that I mean, even though Al Gore won more votes if you combine the whole of America but lost out 500 votes in Florida, that's why Bush won - Electoral College. At that point of time I really could not understand the system and why they use it but today, I see true democracy. But if you look at the numbers of this election again... Obama has not won the popular vote by any wide margin, only 52%, low compared to kennedy's or nixon's. He has won very few of the white's votes and very few of the elders' votes. We still have the staunch republicans conservatives who still refuse to vote for anyone that allows abortion. Seriously, there are other more important issues than that! A century ago there were still slaves and few decades ago blacks were given jobs and freedom. That dream has come true and I'm happy for them. Nevertheless I do have some reservations about Obama because he said he would attack Iran if need be. He still has some reservation about free trade and we all have to wait and see if he'll come up with some sort of New Deal that will create reforms and make some socialist changes to America.

Now that America has made the right decision, expectations from around the world are high. Hopefully the global economy will step out of the darkness soon, Iraq and Afghanistan is stabilized and peaceful, Sudan, Myanmar, N. Korea and Iran issues can be solved diplomatically. Ratify the Kyoto Protocol! Better ties with China, Asean and the muslim community. And seriously, educate the americans so that they know more about the world and smarter than a 5th grader. No more big bully oil-sucking ignorant nation that it has been - always guns gays and abortion. bleahx!  To all the first time voters that made this remarkable change possible, kudos to you. Kudos to all the volunteers and grassroots workers who organized this massive turnout~ The whole race that I've seen this entire year... kinda like American Idol yeah? so interesting... i wish Singapore can have such interesting elections. Then again we don't have interesting history like US.



Alright now to the softer stuffs. Here's a sneak preview of the upcoming movies that I have a slight interest in watching... the first starting with Bolt! There's also Beverly Hills Chihuahua but I heard pretty bad reviews about it and it's from a relatively unknown company. Bolt is from our magical Walt Disney and look at the cute hamster in the ball! Kawaii Desune! Bolt has lived his whole life on the set of his action TV show, where he believes he has superpowers. When separated from the studio by accident, he meets Mr. Mittens (actually a female cat) and a hamster named Rhino. While trying to find his way home, he learns that he doesn't have superpowers and that the show is not realistic. Bolt is coming out on 4th December.

19th December we see Jim Carrey as his usual self in YES. To make his life more interesting, a guy would say yes to anything for a whole year! Seems like a simple and interesting plot but I've never spent money in the theatres for Jim's movie. soo... I'd rather wait and spent it on AUSTRALIA! Why because it's Nicole Kidman and Huge Jackman with one of my favorite director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) which is about Australia in World War II. I expect it to be a really touching love story and I heard its 3 hour long ala Titanic and it's coming out on xmas day itself! Other movies like Doubt (Merryl Streep, Amy Adams), Bedtime Stories also on Xmas day... Walt disney movie feat. Adam Sandler - what is your bedtime stories comes alive. reminds me of Enchanted.

Disney's latest cash cow jumps into the silver screen. Can I have this dance is a really lovely song! Eve was surprised that I like High School Musical...duh! I've been watching it since the first show came out when the song Breaking Free hits iTunes number 1 chart. I do watch disney shows k... i like hillary duff also~ budden i dun hav time to watch hannah montana and that girl is thinking of quitting arghz. I guess it all began with Moulin Rouge and Sound of Music. I saw both shows around sec 2 bah, Sound of Music was introed by my music teacher. Moulin Rouge... jeremy lent me the VCD de~ that was how i knew nicole kidman also. ya lah, sec 2 was the same period i read harry potter and watch survivor and charmed. Oh and Sec 2 we did Sing to the Dawn musical also, and Mr. Alvin Tan also intro us to Les Miserables... something that I always wanted to watch in the threatres but will never get to. i wanna watch Les Miz~! the last time it came to sg i was probably only 6 or younger... i wonder why lately dun have musicals in esplanade liao, other than dim sum dollies.

Then again, no money to watch Avenue Q also... Mr. Wang already book the tickets long long time ago le. Why are art shows in sg so freaking expensive... even though there are a lot a lot of festivals in Singapore~ Was reading zhao bao today and it gave a feature story about all the festivals we have from the start of the year there's the M1 Arts festival, Hua Yi Festival, Singapore Arts Festival, Mosaic Fest, SingFest, Sun Fest, Biennale Fest, Dance Fest, Night Fest... endless man~ i also wanna watch a world class philharmonic concert... like NY Phil or Royal Phil or Russian. missed out so many chances le!

Yesterday went for the Korean Festival which is totally disappointing! The food there can see cannot it, it's just an exhibition, I was expecting it to be like Hokkaido food fair where each stall sell its own food, i so wanted to eat korean rice cake and kimchi. Sadly, THEY DUN EVEN SELL KIMCHI! what kind of a korean fest is that?! KK Kelly and I sat down to watch some B-Boys doing hip hop dance, dunno what world champion lah but its just weird dancing in the day on the stage. They're quite good lah but just... weird lo. technique wise quite pro lah but i remember the shinhwa concert was better, haha. Eventually we went to eat Kim Gary...hmm~ really close to HK food and simply the best in sg i can find liaoz, for reasonable price.

Okay the photoshoot, the idea of colonial building kinda flop cos the lighting is very bad in the night! Jus cannot get the correct feel and we have no lighting equipments lah. The alley at supreme court is closed, haix, i think that would look really really nice but too bad. should have spent more time recce the location and find a good spot lah, lack of preparation. Ended up on Andersen bridge and did one decent de but overall feel still not what i really want but ahaha i already took a dam long time and ebu is hungry. maybe im just not photogenic or i dunno how to do artistic shots wif dslr lahz or im too meticulous about details. the photos kk haven upload yet so cannot have the final say yet. posing wif teh guan is really hard cos its black and small, unlike guitar or saxophone where it's big and obvious! some more night shoot is very very challenging! So now we're left with Max's, KK's, Ebu's and Kelly's. How to rush out before xmas neh? Planning to book a hotel room and shoot a few at one go, muaha. End of this month there's the hitman reborn shoot with teckie and rabbit, need blazer!

I just bought a snoopy monopoly set! muahaha, it was just so irresistible! can come my hse play monopoly le! muahaha. ok here's a sneak preview of a better looking one... but if u look closely, the asset tag is there! lolx!
