Here are the photos from Jac Jac where we celebrated our mummy's birthday. See
the care bear balloon, took quite long to hunt for it leh. Then the carebear on
the left over looking the monitor screen, that was a previous birthday present
we gave her, haha. As you guys can see from the photos, the big white plaster on
my head! arghz.

Still waiting for Bertinus to send me his photos. Yesterday I realize that
Chorby and Joel Toh gonna be roomie at NTU, lolx so hard to imagine. Then I also
realize that sweekuan got addicted to korean drama after i introduced him to Qiu
Tian de Tong Hua in sec 2... erm... have i really done that?! lolx i dunno,
don't remember at all leh. Bertinus, haha he got into drama after we joined
dramafest where i was the director. it's the only play i directed yah. Arnold
and the Big Black Box, this solo drama play... with only Bertinus acting and Yi
Jun voice over as the box. 3 man drama production. if im not wrong tim was prop
manager though but he was too busy with council stuff. bleahx.
27th July
had Jap class today where we were overloaded with new vocabularies. omgz. my
mind kind of blank out during dictation but it should be fine. i bought a
dictionary at kino, had discount thanks to yijun's member card, heeehee. Murata
sensei asked me about my forehead injury, haha. Started to get to know my
classmates like Marcus and Valerie and Jacqueline... some are from the Sat and
some are from the Sun class. I think I'm gonna change to Saturday class from
next semester onwards... sun need to book in quite rush. Been so long since I
made new friends yah... Then at taka I ate this Korean rice cake which is like
crabstick like and in the korean kimchi-taste chili sauce... quite interesting.
It's at B2 the DongDaeMum stall. im really starting to fall in love with korean
food, oh no!
Went to Pasir Ris and both YiJun and SK were late... so I went to library to
borrow this book called "What are journalists for?" haha oh gosh. and then I saw
this book History of international television... wah must read but it's
reference Zzzz~! cannot borrow... sian. Then they both reach le and we walked to
costa sands changi. Quite surprised to see Hin Yeung there. We made a portrait
for bert... seeing that he's such narcissist. haha. i photoshop it and then yi
jun and i went down to bras basah to get it printed and framed up. hope he like
it, haha im sure he does! his hair is like double-permed! lolx. quite long never
see hin yeung le lo... and robin even longer! he's coaching cat high lah, dam
good pay siaz. somehow our topic wandered into the cathartic effect and Mugabe
and Olmar al-Bashir! gosh, been so darn long since i've talked to someone who
really knows what goes on in the world... fellow debater. ahhh so long never
debate le ahhh... wonder how cat high is doing, so long never go back.
Then YiJun and us started talking about Batman and Red Cliff... muahaha! The
combination of Yi Zhong tian and the movie spurred up the desire to know about
about ROTK (romance of the three kingdoms). If you want a really concise summary
of the entire story... down to about 2 pages it's available at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_of_the_three_kingdoms . Later, we
started hak boon bashing and revisiting the nostalgic moments of cat high days.
this month i've seen pengfei 3 times sia. lolx after not seeing him for more
than half a year. in class, we weren't really had that much to talk but now...
like we can crap a lot but too bad he's flying off to toronto soon.
26th July
ijus stayed at home the whole day today... very unusual but its due to people
who fly my aeroplane. so many things in my mind but i cant say it here... this
blog is losing its purpose too. so what if there's so much story to tell? so
what if the product is marvelous? a lot a lot of so what. so many things i cant
say, so many things that i have to keep to myself... Not too long ago, someone
recommended me a song by The Fray - How to save a life? and the first line of
the chorus goes "What have I done wrong I lost a friend" which is exactly what i've
committed. to betray someone's trust and spill out the beans... ended up getting
deleted off face book, changed phone numbers, blocked off msn and just cold
stoic stares when we walk pass each other. Having lost 2 friends to accidents, i
can only say i can't stop it from happening. but having lost one due to myself
is an enormous blow. i really dunno ...
maybe i shouldn't be left at home like this the whole day. kinda depressing.
everyone else is busy with work, studies, play, their own friends, their new
friends. the world moved but im standing still. slowly slowly, bit by bit the
sun will set and darkness will engulf the world. i kept wondering who can ignite
to light up the place or will i have to wait for judgment day. when it comes,
will i be able to brave on?
I was practising the guan for kutu... wishing that David is still there and i
wouldn't need to practice so hard :p Once i was discussing with teckie about our
own funerals... what happens if we pass away. Quite morbid and unusual topic for
young people like us. mine would be something like on a weekend and it should be
a happy memorial service where people should be fed with Sarpino's pizza (boo to
Canadian!) and Daniel shall lead a short speech in memory of me. Some people
will be barred from entering the ceremony and live with guilt forever cos these
are the people whom i've asked for help but never did. Prior to the ceremony,
the date and time of the event shall be put on my msn nick and also emailed to
all my contacts on gmail and facebook... so that my overseas friends will know
and the event shall be filmed down and hopefully simulcast live via the internet
for them.
ok i shldn't be bloggin about such things but where else can i tell? shld jus
control my emotions, yah. maybe soon enough, this blog shall cease to exist as
well or become private. just like how bit by bit, they force me towards the
cliff until the day... until the day.
25th July
How unlucky can one person get? The few of us were sitting by the reservoir
waiting for the tunnel to pick us up after training in the forest. So everyone
started to pick up rocks and throw into the water, see who can throw further
etc. We were all seated in a straight line, throwing the rocks ahead. Somehow
this person whom I do not even know his name, threw the rock perpendicularly and
hit me in the eyebrow! What the! The water is straight ahead, how can he throw
90 degrees off the intended direction? I really do not know. All I knew was that
my head was dripping blood, literally. OMG I have never bleed so much in my
entire life and my whole hand was soaked with fresh blood. So in the night I got
sent to the medical centre... my officer was driving at 150km/hr! which is his
normal driving speed on the highway... errr~ I was too scared and holding on
tight to the side that I couldn't even speak and tell him to slow down. I watch
the meter go from 80 to 100 to 120 and then to 150... omg, freaking scary!
Seriously these people... I really have nothing to say. Anyway I got 4 stitches
at the medical centre, freaking painful after the anesthetic effects wore off.
Ouch! Sure leave scar on my forehead, haix. Suay~! to the extreme.
Helped to celebrate our Karen mummy's birthday. Went down to Mrs. Field to buy a
brownie cake and then searched around for balloons cos Jac says she likes
balloons. I was at Bugis wondering where to find balloons for her... then Jac
say flower shop. Er... the only flower shops that I know in Bugis are beside the
Guan Yin temple!!! LOL so I was heading towards that direction when I saw a few
birthday planner wholesale centre where they sell all the balloons, banners,
party poppers etc for kids and all ages. So I got a carebear helium balloon and
brought it all the way to NYP. Having the bandage on my head already attract
enough attention le, now I have a balloon wor! attract attention only. hahaha.
Karen confirmed that the HK trip is now $640 for alumni members! yay~ yasui-ne!
the current students pay about 400, gosh!
I ate lunch with Yi Jun at Yukee duck rice and he ordered half a duck! omgz!
HALF a duck, im so amazed that we can finish it... actually the portion oso not
very big but first time i order so much sia. Quite value for money actually,
haha. Poor Sweekuan fell sick today, or else he can eat with us. We went hunting
to make Bertinus' birthday present, haha.
21st July
Tekko finally got back his luggage... it went missing after a trip back from
Taiwan. Initially when he told me, I thought it is most likely Taipei side
delayed baggage which is rather common because the plane has too many luggage
and they'll put it in the next available flight. Ended up, tekko found out that
the luggage was actually in the cargo side instead of the usual check-in side...
so it never came out of the conveyor belt. o.0 I'm quite surprised Changi
Airport can make such mistake. At least he found back the luggage, lucky.
Still... reminded me of how I can actually overlook the possibility that the
all-award-winning changi airport can also make slip-ups as well. Dun always
assume that it is other people who make mistakes... morale of story yah?
20th July
Wahhh... I think this month I've uploaded too many photos that my webpage editor
is lagging when I'm typing! Hence i have no choice but to start a new page for
July, heehee. means I've got too much to write this month lah. Here are some of
the photos taken using KK's DSLR which is much much better quality than my
camera. Duh! The first pic with the fan... haha it belonged to teckie and we're
under the zhuge liang craze so we all started posing with the fan. lolx.

Went to watch <Red Cliff> with Angeline at Yishun GV today. The cinema was
really cold with the air-con blasting. gosh! and the cinema was less than a
fifth occupied even though its a sunday. So now onto the review of Red Cliff...
very very disappointing and it's too Hollywood. Poor script, poor adaptation of
plot, poor dialogue, poor casting. I guess it's meant for the mainstream people
who dunnoe a thing about San Guo. I'm disappointed because it fails to stick to
the original story, a LOT was changed and forcefully added in. Like the scene of
Zhuge Liang helping the horse give birth, huh?! even though its meant to show
that Zhuge Liang grow up from the farm... but so what?! doesn't add much to the
story or the character overall. in fact, there's no depth to the show at all.
For example, Zhou Yu was describing about the tiger when he went hunting with
Sun Quan. It is easily inferred that the description of the tiger is about Cao
Cao. Then he must say "Isn't the tiger like Cao cao?" it's so in your face
Hollywood. The battle scene which featured all the heroes is just a showcase of
fighting ala power ranger! shouting Hollywood! Hollywood way of telling the
audience what Guan Yu is like, what Zhang Fei is like... through action and
fighting styles. It'll have been better if they can use their emotions and
express it...more subtle, more literature abit can?! The use of words and
language is super lame, everyone agrees. It's ok that they make Zhuge liang abit
funny and humorous but overly doing it is just lame. In San Guo Yan Yi... Zhuge
Liang is unreal smart like immortal... miao shi ru shen~ can make magic and
borrow eastern wind. Nope, somehow Zhou Yu seems smarter than Zhuge Liang. And
Zhou Yu at that time suppose to be 28 years old or so, they cast Tony Leung.
Okay at least he is a good actor, big name. But Zhao Yun suppose to be a young
adult 20 something... very good looking and they even attempted to make him do a
'Legolas' stunt by going under and then mount onto the horse like Orlando Bloom
in LOTR. Well, they claim this movie to be the Chinese answer to LOTR. Heck they
cast a ugly old man for Zhao Yun~! A lot of things they never explain also, like
how Lu Su also helped in forging the alliance. Zhuge Liang like so easily jiu
persuade Sun Quan to ally... without explaining properly why they both should
ally and Zhuge Liang suppose to know how to tackle Sun Quan and make him ally..
like knowing that Sun Quan is 26, young and gullible and xue qi fang gang...
Guan Yu is sooo blend... dun hav Ba Qi~ Cao Cao just seems plain evil but he is
suppose to be rather smart also... so the character more multi-faceted and
harder to tackle. It'll be better if they make the show a battle of wits like
Death Note rather than just fighting and more blood spurting. Even the blood
spurting is so fake and over. I don't want to go into the terrible CGI also,
cannot compare to LOTR lahz. Zhao Wei is a little relief but a big distraction
to the show. Lin Zhi Ling, her first time acting ... shan't say too much. She
can make bandaging wound so... sexually suggestive. win liao lorh! I think it
all boils down to the script lah, not staying true to the story and failure to
portray more depth and characters. It's just a very shallow 'this is how guan yu
is like' to the general audience, especially American audience. hollywood againz!
The worst is, why did the enemies go into the trap in the first place during the
battle, never explain at all. They just walk right into it... super lame. The
fighting scenes are overly long and boring, no creativity or surpass any current
standard. The part which Zhang Fei used the horse to create smoke ... I think it
was borrowed from another battle and it was to make the impression that they
have a lot of troops. In the movie, they never explain how this tactic came
about and what happened to the enemy. Also, poor little Hua Tuo just appear for
a second and there's nothing said about him le. Historically he suppose to treat
Cao Cao's illness by suggesting to do an operation on his head... but Cao Cao
killed Hua Tuo because at that time, it was crazy to do operation. So I don't
even see why that character appear in the first place when they don't want to
finish the sub-plot. I've expected a lot a lot more from the hype and the time
taken to do this production, been waiting for it two years ago when I heard
about the cast le. Sadly, I think Warlords is a better show loh... ultra
disappointed. i'd expected it to be as good as LOTR like they claim it to be.
After the movie wanted to eat Chong Pang nasi lemak but Angeline and I took the
wrong bus. I thought it was suppose to go a direction but it went another way
instead and went onto the highway!!! Ended up at Bukit Panjang o.0! so we just
went into Bukit Panjang plaza to see what is nice to eat there. Saw this HK
Street Cafe which seems to be a Kim Gary clone so we went in there and ordered.
The food there all okay okay lahz, more expensive than Kim Gary but the food is
not as good. Then again, still better than Xin Wang and Central HK Cafe... Kim
Gary still the best lah, sophia mus be happy haha. Then we took the LRT,
angeline first time taking the LRT lohz, lolx.
19th July
Went back to CO in the morning to practice a little bit.
How long have I not went for combine ??? very long. haix. After that i attended
my Jap class, suddenly the learning curve shot up a lot... lots of things to
learn and remember le, i'm not complaining yet. have to put in effort and really
study, or else will be like teckie... cannot catch up! muahaha. its good to be
learning something and having homework to do, or else my brain will really turn
rusty. Getting confused between the use of desu-ne and desu-yo.

Met up with James and went to shop shop a bit then went to eat at MOF again. Cos
we realize that for vegetarians... MOF is more friendly bcos the menu will
denote which dishes are veggie only. Xiao Na and her friend came along too,
Sophia joined us after her class. James de is veggie bento while mine is Unagi
stone bowl. Interestingly enough, you must keep stirring the rice or else it'll
get burnt. The stone is really hot! At the end of our dinner, there was
fireworks because of NDP preview... cool dinner hor, lolx!

After the dinner, we made our way to the National Museum for the inaugural
Singapore Night Festival opening. Yes you heard it right, National Museum! It's
been almost a decade since I visited the museum (if you exclude the Japanese
film fest we accidentally trodden in for) and the whole SMU Campus Green was
really crowded. I'm so surprise that so many people know of this event. Mr. Wang
told me it's nice la, the Dancing in the Sky performance by an Italian troupe.
Indeed it was... in fact it is a lot better than the Arts Festival opening
performance! Dancing in the sky has 2 segment, the first part has 5 acts of
aerial acrobatics. Set against the national museum, the aerial ballet and
acrobatics are really graceful and enthralling. They can even 'fly' down to
touch and interact with the audience... real cool. The classic one is of course
a man and lady dancing in the sky to those classical italian opera singer. The
one I like is the flying piano and the dancer, you can see the piano turning and
floating in the sky. Sugoi-ne!

The second segment is on the campus green itself ... on land. The first act
consist of a water screen, ala Musical fountain where they project images of
celebrities onto it. kinda boring~ The highlight had to be the water bowl
acrobatic which really wow-ed the entire audience and received repeated
applause. applause from Singaporeans is very hard to earn de, so they did really
well.

Standing right in the middle of the museum is David. I took it from another
angle and it is not made of marble, i have no idea why it's red! The national
museum now consist of a few galleries such as the film& wayang which featured
old movie tickets, pictures of the old Cathay and Lido etc. Then there is the
fashion gallery which showcase the traditional costumes and the 70s a-go-go
costumes which my mum probably wore before, haha. Quite interesting to visit the
museum in the night lah, more relaxing but it was rather crowded... free mah.
Okay la, the entire experience quite okay. The Night festival started off with a
bang, really well... I really like the opening performance which is very
mainstream very mass appealing. Next week there's more, like outdoor Hairspray
movie screening!
