Welcome, friends, to the home of the Fanfic Refugees. This site is a safe haven for several authors whose work has been deemed "unacceptable" by the increasingly nazi-esque regime of a certain popular fanfiction site. To attempt to "define" which forms of literary expression are "proper" and which are not is the worst kind of censorship tyranny, and by gum, we're not gonna stand for it anymore.
UPDATE, 4/29/05: Several new fics have been added to the site in response to the latest mandate from the fanfiction heavens, decreeing that any fics including musical lyrics not written by the author are subject to immediate deletion. If this seems ludicrous and insane, just wait. Our favorite soul-devouring site has recently declared that "this has always been our policy." For those of us who have been around long enough to remember when "Songfic" was a category, this is rather puzzling. Equally puzzling is the inability of any writer anywhere on site to use the term "ff.net"--the word is automatically blanked out. This writer would not presuppose to guess why such a rule would be in effect, except that The Powers That Be are well aware that any use of that word would be significantly less than flattering, and would most probably be followed by "sucks a big one" or "can bite me, the nazi bastards."
Anyhoo, in addition, the review system has again been updated. We've switched over to a different message board which loads more quickly and has more features--not to mention, just plain looks nicer. So give it a whirl, and let these fanfiction rebels know they haven't been forgotten!
PS: All reviews from the the previous message board and the first, clunky guestbook set-up have been transferred into this new format, so no reviews have been lost.
