When I planned the conversion, the intention was to fit a side window in the sliding door. I found two places on the web who could supply and fit the window at a cost of about 80 plus 20 for the fitting. I wanted to ignore all this stuff while I got on with everything else, because the door fittings didn't impact on the rest of the build.

But when most of the other stuff was done and we started using the van (and hence getting insurance and DVLC use change), it all got harder.
For a start the paperwork required windows and pictures of same, so when we got insured, it was on the understanding that we had a limited time to finish the build, including windows and provide picture.
Secondly the websites I had found previously proved useless. They didn't answer emails or the phone.

Next step therefore was to seek out other places and there didn't seem to be any. I found that very few windows exist in breakers yards as they just smash them. One place was able to supply a window for around 200.
But a friend knew of a place that could do the job and they were nearby. So over to see what could be done and we decided to also have windows in both back doors. They seemed like a good place and started work to get a quote, but never replied to emails or phone messages and eventually I got a 300 rough guide for the side window and they were still working on the back ones.

At last I found the right man - Dave of ACE Windcreens and I would recommend them to anyone. We took the van over, told him what we wanted, he suggested we get them tinted and quoted 250 plus VAT for the three. Deal done and date set for a bout a week later and all was done cleanly, on time and efficiently.
Unfortunately the back pair leaked a bit, but they were happy to shove some gunk around the trims and so sealed it all.
