One of the snags of a motorhome versus a caravan is that when you have pitched camp, you can not drive off without a load of packing up work.
We have got the awning largely with this problem in mind, but we also wanted the mobility of cycles and hence a cycle rack.

I went through a number of possibilities and rejected most, inspecting other vans and bike racks as I went. In the end I decided to fit a rack to one door and have the bicycle off centre.
Next step was to find the right bike rack and Fiamma looked the bext available. The cost was in the 100-150 range, but I picked up an incomplete one from EBay for 9.99. It needed new fittings, which I made out of angle iron and then I bolted it onto the back door(with some strengthening metal behind).

The result means that the bikes are well above the number plate and also the lights. I can get at the door lock easily enough, but the door handle is partly obscured, especially if a bike is on the rack.
