COPING WITH CONFLICT
An intensive, self-help conflict resolution exercise designed for all types of relationships, guiding you from anger to peace, from despair to action, from outrage to insight.

Reasonable

In this conflict, are your expectations REASONABLE? Is the other person's behavior towards you abhorrent because it is unreasonable, unfair and totally out of step with what is generally acceptable for the situation?

If you have made a request for behavior change from the other person, is it a reasonable request, something generally acceptable as fair and normal for the type of relationship you have with the person you're in conflict with?

Are your expectations such that most people would accept them as reasonable?

Would most people behave in the manner you expect from the person you're in conflict with?

First of all, check out Relationships to gauge what's reasonable for your particular conflict.

So, is your expectation of the person you're in conflict with something that most people would accept as REASONABLE?

  • YES, my expectations are reasonable - go to  Double Check
  • NO, I guess I'm being unreasonable in my expectations -  go to Annoyances
