A Memorial to my Best Friend...

REBEL - my Miniature Pinscher

April 5, 1988 - February 6, 2004

Dawn and RebelRebel, do you remember when we first met? I do - it's a day I will never forget. It was November of 1988, Dawn called and asked me to pick her up from work. When I got there, she leaned over, picked something up, and handed you to me and said "Merry Christmas, Mom." You were the most handsome boy I have ever seen. My mind raced thinking about the fun things we would do together, the trips we would take, the classes we would attend.........it was all just so overwhelming. Dawn knew I had always wanted a tiny, short-haired dog, and then she found you.

Over the years, you have brought so much joy into my life - losing you was never a thought. I want to thank you for always being there for me. Through the happy times and the sad times, you never let me down. I couldn't have asked for a more precious and faithful companion.

When I lost Dawn in 1997, you were a constant reminder of her love and kindness. When I cried, you were there to lick the tears. When I was sad, you would cuddle up to me and share in my sadness. You always reminded me that life must go on. You fought a brave battle near the end, my little punkin' head, and it was very difficult to let you go. But I knew Dawn was calling you to be with her and I had to let you go. It comforts me to know Dawn is taking care of you now until I can be with you both again. I love you, punkin', and I miss you more than words can say. But please know that you and Dawn are with me always and as long as I live, you both live in my heart. Stay close to Dawn and you will always be safe and loved.

I love you....Mommy
