![]() to the Simple Snackbook an online recipe book of easy to make healthy snacks for children ![]() About this Project As my class prepared to begin their nutrition unit, I became more aware of what they were eating. As I watched I noticed that most were bringing chips and candy for snacks with their lunches. While they are aware of the healthy foods, they often still choose the unhealthy snacks if given a choice. This project is meant to give teachers and parents fun ideas for preparing healthy snacks that their children will want to eat. My class has taken the Dole 5 A Day Challenge. We are vowing to eat more fruits and veggies! The snacks in this snackbook are simple, fun snacks that children can enjoy at school or at home with their families. They will enjoy making them and eating them! ![]() How Do I Participate? Participating classes will work together to create an online snackbook of A-Z simple and healthy snacks (each snack MUST contain at least one fruit or veggie!). Each class will take their designated letter of the alphabet and be responsible for: Providing a recipe

Send an e-mail of your idea for the project to Mrs. Madden at [email protected] so she can reserve your letter. This project has officially closed, but if you would like to adopt one of the letters not taken during the project please contact me at the email above. We would love to see all letters taken. ![]() A-Z Simple Snackbook Showcase
