During our Nutrition Unit, we read
The Very Hungry
Caterpillar
by Eric Carle. After
discussing the
foods that the caterpillar had eaten, we decided to create our own caterpillar - The Very HEALTHY Caterpillar! Each student was assigned a food and given a yellow circle. On the circle, the student had to write the name of the food, draw a picture of it, and list the health benefit for that food. Example:
Coming Soon! Next, we attached all of the
circles together in the hall to create our Very Healthy
Caterpillar. What
a great way to review the food groups and their benefits for our bodies - and it makes a cute display. Photo of our

Coming Soon! Finally, we created healthy
caterpillars to eat.
