Taylors, South Carolina

While studying South America, our class read The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry.  After learning about the Rainforest, we made a list of all of the resources that the Rainforest provides for us.   For a snack, we made Rainforest Pops, using three of these resources:  bananas, chocolate, and peanuts.

Rainforest Pops

Ingredients:
1 banana for every two children
1 popsicle stick for each child
chocolate syrup
chopped nuts

Directions:
1. Peel the bananas
2. Cut each banana in half
3. Press a popsicle stick into each half of the banana
4. Roll the banana halves in chocolate syrup
5. Roll the banana halves in chopped nuts
6. Enjoy your rainforest pop!

Look at all of the other foods we eat that come from the rainforest!
