Extreme Herder... To the Extreme!

Every day in Neopia, wouldn't you just love grabbing adorable Babaas, Noils, Angelpusses, and Doglefoxes and hoarding  them into a pen?  If so, Extreme Herder is the game for you!

And now I've got Petpet hair on my hands!

Extreme Herder starts with four gates that you can
toss the Petpet into the pen, and four openings on
the side of the screen.  You grab a Petpet by run-
ning into it, and to put it in you touch the pen's gate.
If Balthazar, the vicious faerie-hunting Lupe, gets
too close to you or the Petpets, though, he'll gobble
them up as a mid-morning snack.  Now, here is a
bt of strategy on how to avoid this.

I don't want to get eaten!!!

Ok, so you are starting your game.  On the window that pops up when you start, there are four openings to the pen in the middle, and four openings on the side of the window.  These window openings, if you walk into them, make you come out on the opposite side's opening.  They can be quite useful at times, so use them while you still can.  Yes, I said while you still can.  Sadly enough, the game has to get harder, and by the 7th level, all these helpful side-window openings have vanished.  Basically the same thing happens to you with the pen openings, they disappear, first the top one, then the bottom, then the right, until by the 11th level you only have the left gate into the pen and no side-window openings.

Stars, Snowflakes, and Little Orange Ball Thingies

Stars

On every level one of the Petpets running around oblivious to the huge wolf coming to eat them will have a four pointed star on its back.  This star means you will get Bonus Points (BP) for picking it up.  The first three levels you will get 2 BP for the petpet, the fourth level 3 BP,  sixth 4 BP, eighth 6 BP, tenth 8 BP and so on.  Don't make it top priority to get only these petpets though, because it might put the others in danger and you only have 3 lives.

Snowflakes

Why there are snowflakes on the ground, don't ask.  Looks like the middle of summer there to me.  However, at least these snowflakes melt if you leave them too long.  Anyway, snowflakes are one of the most important things to know about in the game.  They appear by the four corners of the pen, and you pick one up by running into it.  Once you've picked it up, Baltazar will freeze and you'll have a few precious seconds more to gather the petpets.  However, if you don't pick them up fast enough, they will melt away and a new one will appear somewhere else around the pen, or maybe the same spot, you never know.

Little Orange Ball Thingies

Who knows what they are, I just call them Little Orange Ball Thingies.  They will appear around the screen corners (not the pen like the snowflakes do), and will temporarily make you go faster, so you can grab the Petpets up in a second!

The Habits of the Wolf

You may or may not have noticed that
once you've picked up the last Petpet
and all the others are in the pen,
Baltazar hobbles over into the top-left
corner, where he always comes out of
at the start of a level.  You can stand
there with it as long as you want,
giving you time to strategize for thenext
level.  Balthazar also always goes for
the Petpet that is nearest to him, instead
of where the majority of them are.  If you are desprate, it may be a good idea to put a Petpet near him and sacrifice a life for the saftey of the others.

Wahh!  I Died! Now What?

Now comes the best part about this game.  You click send score and watch as your score of 100 gets to be 400 np, or your score of 200 goes to an amazing 800 np!  And that was only for one of your three plays in a day!  So I recommend this game for all poor people, because it is fairly easy and even novice players can get around 400 np.  So three plays getting 400 np means 1,200 np in a day!  You'll be rolling in the dough in no time.
