The average American will eat about 81 pounds of chickin in 2000, compared to 28 pounds per person in 1960. Chicken is popular with everyone, but people ages 18 to 24 consume the most-not including chicken eaten at fast-food restaurants. Domesticated turkeys don't fly, but wild turkeys do. That's primarily because of the larger breast bone and the larger amount of breast meat which defeats their attempts to become airborn. They just physically can't get their bulk off the ground. |
