Konnichiwa, Minna-San! Heres the last chapter of Mastery! At least, I think itll be the last one. Anyway, Id like to dedicate this chapter to one of my best friends, Anna D. And if shes reading this, Ill read your fanfics when I get the time, I keep forgetting! Gomen about her fic that I have not read, and arigato for her review of Unknown Love! Well, thats about all, except for this:
I dont own CCS. The only thing I own is merchandise.

Mastery: Chapter 7.

This is going to be one rough half hour. Sakura sighed, preparing to make the hardest transformation of her life.
She tried to change the Light Card. Nothing happened. What the? It wont transform!
I told you, Sakura. You must change them together. Came the strange voice.
Who are you? Sakura demanded.
My identity is not important. What is important is your changing the Light and Dark Cards. That is, unless you dont want to save him.
Sakuras head turned itself to face Syaoran. The metal in his face was not moving, and he showed no signs of life, artificial or not. Sakura smiled happily as Syaorans mouth opened, but her face fell when the robotic voice sounded the time remaining on the command abortion countdown. Time remaining: 1500 seconds.
That means that five of your precious thirty minutes is already gone, Sakura. Youd better get started.
I cant do it alone! Im not strong enough! Sakura yelled in frustration after her fifth attempt to transform the Cards.
Then perhaps we could help you, Sakura. Yue stated. We could go into the wand and give our powers to it.
Lets hope its enough, though. Cerberus said. Because if Sakura is unable to change the Cards then, we will be trapped inside the wand forever.
Iie! Sakura shouted. I cant lose you two! Youre my friends! I wont let that happen!
Then you must change the Cards. Came the deep voice again. You have 23 minutes.
Trust us, Sakura. Well be alright. We have faith in you. Cerberus said.
Okay. Sakura said. The Clow Guardians began to glow, and then they disappeared. Sakuras wand changed from the star-in-a-circle design into one that did not have the circle, but still had the wings.
Sakura tried again. She was able to transform about half of each Card, but with her powers, along with those of Cerberus and Yue, she was still not able to change the Cards completely.
Nervously, Sakura glanced around the room, trying to see anything that could help her more. All she saw was Syaorans lifeless body. She remembered what he had said to her just as all this had started. I-I love you.
Syaoran, I love you, too. Even though you may never know it. Tears rolled down Sakuras cheeks. I love you so much. Machine or not, I love you.
Syaorans eyes flew open. They were blank and expressionless, but they were open. He got up; the wound from his back began to ooze something. Sakura figured it to be oil, since he was mostly machine. He walked over to her and put his arms around her shoulders, taking a hold on the wand. He did not speak, but Sakura could tell what he was doing. He was giving his powers to the wand as well.
Syaoran. Sakura smiled, concentrating on the Cards again. As soon as Syaorans power was spent, he fell to the floor again. Sakura was relieved, since he was pretty heavy. The robotic voice came from Syaorans mouth again. Time remaining: 600 seconds.
Ten minutes. Sakura whispered, doing the math in her head. I have ten minutes to save Syaoran. And I wont let him die! A wave of fury swept over Sakura. Syaoran is going to live! I love him too much to let him die! The Cards began to change again. The line that separated the Clow Card and the Sakura Card parts moved, as more of the Cards came under Sakuras powers. SYAORAN! With one final burst of energy, the Light and Dark Cards became Sakura Cards.
Very good, Sakura. Eriol stepped in through the window. Its finally over. And now, my creation will not die.
You? Youre the one that was making all of this happen to Sakura? Cerberus, who had just emerged from the wand, demanded.
That is correct. For you see, I am the reincarnation of Clow Reed.
Clow Reed? Why didnt you tell us you were going to return, Master? Yue asked.
Because I wanted you to choose the next master of the Clow Cards. I got tired of being the most powerful sorcerer in the world. That is why Sakura was chosen. She is strong enough to overcome my own magic, meaning that, with just a little more practice, she came become more powerful than I ever was.
Eriol went o to explain everything, including that Sakuras father was the other half of Clow Reeds reincarnation.
What about Syaoran? Shouldnt he have woken up by now?
Oh, I almost forgot about Syaoran. He will wake up in a day or two. He is bleeding badly, so you might want to get him to a hospital.
Bleeding? But hes an android! Cerberus stated.
Not anymore. I knew he would fall in love with you, so I made sure he would become human when you finished changing Light and Dark, as well as after the two of you confessed your love for each other.
Sakura looked at Syaoran. It had been nearly half an hour since she had finished transforming the Cards, and she had looked at him frequently. None of those times, until now, did she realize that his face had come back, as cute as ever. His chest moved up and down steadily. He was asleep.
I must leave you now, Sakura. Farewell. Eriol turned to leave. Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun, who had joined him, followed.
Goodbye, Eriol. Sakura said. Ill miss you.
As I will you. Eriol disappeared from sight, and Sakura went to Syaoran. Ill call Tomoyo. She can get us a ride to the hospital.
Two days later, Syaoran woke up. He was lying in the hospital. Sakuras emerald eyes lit up when she saw him. Syaoran! Youre awake!
Sakura. You did it?
Yes. She held up the Light and Dark Cards. All thanks to you. It was my love for you that helped me finish the transformation.
Syaoran smiled. Good. Im proud of you. He took hold of her hand. I just dont know how you can love an android.
Youre not an android. Eriol fixed you before he left.
Hes gone?
Yes. He left right after I finished transforming the Cards.
Syaoran smiled again, and squeezed Sakuras hand. I love you, Kinomoto Sakura.
Good. Because I love you too, Li Syaoran.
The next day, Syaorans family came from Hong Kong. They were so relieved to see Syaoran alive. His mother had been a wreck ever since Syaoran had been shot at the age of 8. Syaoran confessed that he remembered the incident well, and he also remembered dying in a hospital bed much like the one he was in now.
Syaorans family understood that he wanted to stay in Japan with Sakura. Thus, his mother and sisters paced their things and moved with him. Sakura and Syaoran grew up together, and graduated high school 7 years later.
Were so proud of you two! Yelan, Syaorans mother, stated. She gave both Sakura and Syaoran hugs. They smiled, standing in their sky blue robes with the rest of their class. Tomoyo rushed up, her diploma clutched in her hand.
We did it! We finally graduated!
And I thought capturing the Clow Cards was hard! Sakura giggled. Syaoran put his arm on Sakuras shoulders and kissed her cheek. It was easy compared to finishing high school!
Ether way, the time weve had together has been fun. Syaoran stated. I was lucky that I could graduate with you guys. Because, technically, Im three years younger than you two.
And all thanks to- Tomoyo started to say, but she was interrupted.
Me. The trio whipped around to see a boy with dark hair and blue eyes smiling at them. He looked older than the last time they had seen him, but his identity was unmistakable.
ERIOL? Sakura, Syaoran, and Tomoyo all shouted. What are you doing here? Syaoran added.
I came to see my friends graduate. Eriol stated.
Okay, but why are you still our age? Syaoran asked. I thought you were just staying our age until it came time for Sakura to change the Cards.
That was the plan, but then I decided to stay like this. I rather like being much older than I appear.
You always were a crackpot. Syaoran shook his head. As always, his brown bangs fell over his auburn eyes. Sakura lovingly brushed them away. Syaoran smiled, pulled the girl into an embrace, and kissed her passionately.
Syaoran! Sakura said, pulling away. Were in public!
I know. That was tame compared to what we do in private. He felt that the slap he received for this was uncalled for. Youre mean! He turned away, pretending to sulk.
Youre a lousy actor, Syaoran. All those drama classes wasted. Sakura teased.
I took a semester of drama in sophomore year.
So? Thats still a semesters worth of classes.
Sakura, remember when the class did Romeo And Juliet? I was good in that.
You played Juliets father. Hes a drunk, cheating moron. You hardly had to act. Sakura sneered. Syaoran was tempted to return the slap he had gotten, but thought otherwise.
Yeah, well who were you?
I was Juliets nurse. I wasnt as good as Tomoyo, though. Sakura said honestly.
Who were you, Tomoyo? Eriol asked.
I was Juliet. Tomoyo confessed.
Thats odd. Wasnt Sakura Juliet when you were in 6th grade? Eriol asked. And Syaoran was Romeo?
I was Yamazakis replacement after he hurt his arm. Once again, it was technically your doing. Syaoran retorted.
How so? Eriol asked.
Well, if you hadnt have sealed Void under your house, she wouldnt have gotten loose, which would mean she wouldnt have attacked the school, which would mean Sakura wouldnt have had to use the Sleep Card to make everyone fall asleep and thus Yamazaki wouldnt have fallen on his shoulder and hurt it.
Touch. Eriol bowed, evidently proud of himself.
Syaoran, you are the king of run-on sentences. Tomoyo sighed. But, you still make sense. Now it was Syaorans turn to bow.
Anyway, getting back to what we were talking about, our time together has been a lot of fun. Sakura stated.
And with all of us heading off to University of Tokyo next year, lets hope the good times keep coming. Syaoran smiled.
Yeah! Sakura smiled too. I hope college is just as much fun as high school!
I thought you said high school was too hard. Syaoran gave his girlfriend a strange look.
I did, but I still liked it.
You mean you liked being with Syaoran all day. Tomoyo teased.
That too. Sakura blushed.
Tomoyo! Come on! Weve got to go! Sonomi called toward her daughter.
See you guys tonight. Tomoyo said, turning away from her friends. At the party.
Yep. See you then. Sakura smiled as Tomoyo walked away. Sakuras father was throwing a graduation party for Sakura and her friends. You can come too, Eriol. The party is at my house. It starts at 6:30.
Ill be there. Eriol nodded. Id better go. Ill see you both tonight.
Bye! Sakura said cheerfully.
Bye. Syaoran stated with nowhere near the amount of enthusiasm his girlfriend showed. Hey, Sakura? I need to talk to you for a minute.
We are talking.
No. I mean somewhere more private. He took her arm and led her away. That went to the dugout of the baseball field behind the school. Syaoran looked into Sakuras eyes, then brushed the bottom of his robe away. He wore jeans underneath, and Sakura noticed a large bulge in Syaorans pocket. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pink box. He then knelt onto one knee.
Kinomoto Sakura, I love you more than anything in the world. Will you marry me? Syaoran continued to look into Sakuras eyes. A look of both shock and joy spread through them.
Oh, Syaoran! Yes! Of course Ill marry you! Syaoran opened the tiny box and took out a beautiful ring. A large diamond was mounted on the center of the ring, and tiny rubies and emeralds surrounded it.
This is an engagement ring? Sakura asked excitedly. Syaoran nodded. Wow! I cant wait to see my wedding ring! She bent down and kissed him. He slipped the ring onto her finger. And, after all they had been through together, they knew now that this was just the beginning.
