Hey there, Minna-San! Im back with chapter 5! Its summer and Im getting down to writing whenever I can, even if I dont know what to write. I dont have much time to write, because Im always reading, swimming, or hanging out with my friends, one of which is moving at the end of summer, so I want to make the last month and a half we have with her fun. Anyways, enough with my personal life and onto chapter 5 of Mastery!!
I dont own CCS. Thats all Im saying, so tough.

Mastery: Chapter 5.

Whyd we have to bring him with us, Sakura? Kero asked, glaring at Syaoran, who stood, sword drawn, next to Sakura. Hes not even HUMAN for crying out loud! He added silently to himself.
Because I promised him Id call if there was anything strange going on. And this is the same aura that I felt when I saw Clow Reed during the final Trial. Knowing that Clow Reed has been dead for a long time, I thought that this would count as strange, Kero.
Whatever. Kero growled. He glanced at Syaoran just in time to see a gleam of silver rise quickly into the air towards Sakura. SAKURA! WATCH OUT!
AHH! Sakura screamed, dodging out of the way just as Syaorans sword flew past her shoulder. S-Syaoran? What are you doing?
Its not me! Syaoran said, looking as terrified as the others. Somethings making me do this!
Yeah, your sick, twisted, demented brain, Brat! Kero yelled.
No! Theres really something controlling me! Syaoran said as his sword took another swing at Sakura. His arms seemed to relax a little, and he was able to gain control of them briefly. He pulled out one of his ward papers and invoked it. It was suddenly clear what was controlling him as water and ice began to cover threads attached to Syaorans arms and legs.
Sword! Sakura yelled. A flash of light swept over the Card Sakura was holding. The background of the Sword Card changed from gold, white, and purple to different shades of pink as the Card became a Sakura Card. She then called forth the Card and her Wand turned into a long sword. She quickly cut the threads that controlled Syaoran, and he fell limply to the ground.
Kero saw this as an opportunity to talk to Syaoran alone, and Sakura too fell to the pavement. Tomoyo, who had taped the whole thing, rushed to Sakuras side to see if she was alright. Kero flew to Syaoran, who was struggling to get up, and hissed into his ear with his strong Osaka accent. Id watch yourself if I were you. And as for your remark about who needs human emotions if you cant have the one you truly love, I just find it necessary to tell you that Sakura is not someone that would love an android, no matter how much he loved her.
Syaorans eyes widened. You know? Syaoran asked cautiously. Kero nodded. I have no interest in Sakura, for you information. Im not going to ask how you know about me, but I will tell you that I am programmed to be able to fall in love once, and only once. And I have strict orders that Sakura must not be the one I fall for. I wouldnt want to, anyway. Shes a good friend, but shes not exactly girlfriend material. Syaoran glanced at Sakura, whose head was resting on Tomoyos lap, her eyes closed, and clearly unconscious. Breath a word of this to anyone, you tiny little toy, and I will personally kill you, whether it is ordered by my master or not.
Who is your master? Hes the one that is doing this to Sakura, isnt he? Kero stated as though a light had come on inside his head. Hes the one with Clow Reeds aura!
Dont be an idiot. My master and I are trying to help Sakura get through this, not hurt her.
Then why were you here before Sakura started transforming the Cards?
Because my master knew what was to come. He knew that Sakura would pass the Trial; he knew that she would become Clow Mistress; he knew that she would have to transform the Cards, and that someone with an aura similar to the creator of the Cards would try to harm Sakura as she did so. I was sent to protect her, help raise he magical abilities, and to make sure she was ready for this when it came time for it to happen. My master wanted to help her with this part of her journey himself, only that was made impossible due to an accident, which I will not go into detail about. So, he ordered me to stay here, and fulfill his role in this as well as my own. Syaoran told as much of the truth as possible, without giving information about who his master was, or any other information that might give the impression that his master was the one causing all of the disturbances in Tomoeda.
Again, who is you master, you little brat! Kero demanded, his beady black eyes glaring into Syaorans auburn ones.
Someone who wishes to help Sakura. Syaoran answered plainly. I am not programmed to tell you anything further.
Is that so? Well, then, Ill be keeping an eye on you, Brat. As soon as you try to contact this master of yours, Ill find out just who he is! Kero flew away just as Sakura came around and starting looking for him.
There you are, Kero! What were you and Syaoran talking about? Sakura asked sweetly.
Nothing. I just wanted to ask him if he could find the person whos causing all of this. He is a blood relative of Clow, after all.
Good point. Sakura stated, clearly missing the huge lie. Can you, Syaoran? She asked louder, so that Syaoran, who was still ten feet away, could hear her.
What, find whoever it is thats doing this? I dont think so. It cant be Clow Reed, though. Hes been dead for ages, and the only people who are related to him are members of the Li family. I know that none of my family would do something like this. Theyd consider it a waste of time just coming over here. They think I can handle it all by myself. Syaoran said, going only by what Eriol had told him of his non-existent family.
Tomoyo looked down at her watch. Its getting late. We had better get back home before our families get worried.. She stopped; suddenly remembering that Syaoran lived alone
Yea. Good idea. Syaoran said. Ive got homework to do, anyway. Ill see you tomorrow. He turned and left the awkward scene. He rushed to his apartment and pulled out his communicator. He hit the first speed-dial button, which would connect him to Eriol, and waited for an answer.
Hello?
I have a problem. The Seal Beast knows what I am. He knows Im not human.
Syaoran, what are you talking about? Came a clearly female voice. Syaoran looked at what he was holding. It wasnt his communicator, but his cell phone, which had been given to him by Sakura and Tomoyo.
He quickly hung up the phone and sat on his bed, scared out of his mind. He had told Sakura that he was an android! Now what was he going to do? He threw the phone as far away from him as possible, hoping that somehow, that would erase what he had just said from Sakuras memory. He changed out of his fighting robes and rushed out of the apartment again. He had to tell Eriol what had just happened. But how would his master react? Syaoran didnt want to think about what Eriol would do to him when he found out, and didnt really want to tell him, but his feet would not stop moving along the familiar path to Eriols mansion.
He was going to die. He was going to be shut down. He was going to become scrap metal. All these thoughts swam through his brain, but still his feet moved forward. He soon found himself in front of Eriols house, and reluctantly, he knocked on the heavy door.
Come in, Syaoran. I wish to speak with you. Came the deep voice of his master. Syaoran gulped. Did he already know? Syaoran opened the door, and proceeded to Eriols sitting room.
Master. Syaoran bowed, and swept himself onto one knee before his master. He was petrified and shaking, he was waiting for Eriols shouts of disappointment. He waited, and waited, but nothing came.
Syaoran, You have done well. The Cards are almost transformed. But there is one thing. I have just been watching your thoughts, he pointed to a strange sort of television screen that showed, playing over and over again, the scene that had just happened when Syaoran told Sakura about not being human. And I must say, I am not too pleased with this. I knew that it would happen sooner or later, and I am glad that it was not anytime before now, but I think that you would pay just a bit more ATTENTION, (He shouted this word so loudly, Spinel fell from his bookshelf) and this could have been avoided altogether. Syaoran was now shaking so badly, he was sure that he would never be able to stop.
Master, I am deeply sorry. Cerberus was bound to tell her eventually. There was nothing I could do, except find a way to either erase her memory, or kill her.
I know this, Syaoran. However, to avoid any odd questions, I would much rather you not attend school tomorrow. That way, I can sort all of this out, and you can spend a day doing nothing for a change. Eriol held up what appeared to be a remote control. Syaoran, Im sorry, but I will have to shut you down until tomorrow night. By then, I should be able to have answered any questions Sakura may have about what you told her on the phone.
Syaoran quivered, if possible, even more. He didnt want to be shut down. He wasnt sure what it was like, but he was sure it would not be good.
Sleep well, Syaoran. Eriol pointed the control at Syaoran, pressed a large, red button, and Syaoran suddenly felt as though his body had turned to lead. He couldnt move. He fell backward and his eyes shut themselves.
The last thing he remembered was a strange, robotic voice coming from his own mouth, and stating without emotion Total system shutdown; reawakening set for 36 hours. After this, everything went blank. A day passed, and the blankness that had swallowed Syaoran was lifted. The first thing he saw was his master, Eriol, looking very pleased with himself, but for what reason, Syaoran could only guess.

++++++++++
Whoa. That was creepy. Ive decided on how to end this fic, and it probably wont be too much longer. Anyway, please review, and I guess thats all. See you next chapter, Minna-San! Ja ne!
