The parts list provides overviews of what a hydraulic motor consists of,
and of how a large part of the product system from extraction of raw materials
to and including manufacturing is included in the LCA. The
components used to assemble the hydraulic product are specified with item
numbers and described in table (3.2). The information includes components
weight and material contents as well as the manufacturing processes and
ancillary substances used to manufacture. For each component and process, the symbol (Ö)
is used to show whether the product systems of the material and the ancillary
substances are included in the hydraulic product system. The
parts list shown in table (3.2) is a
simplified version of the original parts list for the product: some of the small
items have been combined into groups of the same material for the PC tool
database, but nothing has been omitted from the parts list, i.e. it covers the
whole product.
The raw material weight is defined as the weight, which
the materials have when they enter the manufacturing stage of the products/part
inside and outside Sauer-Danfoss. The final weight is
defined by the weight, which the components have when they enter into the
assembling process of the product at Sauer-Danfoss.
The
processes to be included were identified using the MECO principle (Materials,
Energy, Chemicals, Others). To our knowledge, all materials and processes entering the
product were taken into account. In
