Leon Combs' Poetry
Welcome to my world!

I am Ramah Leon Combs, a 45 year old prisoner of the War on Drugs housed at the Federal Correctional Institute, in Manchester, Kentucky(currently is in a transfer mode). Although I had no previous criminal record, my 31.3 year sentence began April 20, 2001. My life has drastically changed since that date. My wife has divorced me, gaining custody of our two daughters and sole ownership to everything we possessed. My major focus in life now is to seek justice by telling the story behind my conviction. My case parallels the cases in Tulia, Texas where revelations of police misconduct and corruption resulted in numerous individuals gaining freedom.

I write poetry to record my painful experience as a prisoner of the War on Drugs. (LINKS at bottom of page will take you to the various poems.) I hope you will enjoy reading it and that in some way it stirs your emotions and causes you to think about the devastation our current drug policies are having on the American way of life. Policies which result in more Americans, per capita, being jailed than any other civilized nation in the world. I urge you to become active.
