Me and Youİ
We met quite by chance
On a sunny summers day
Though our love was forbidden from the start
Our hearts refused to go astray.

Although we lived so far apart
In our minds we were always near
And our love for each other lived on and on
Throughout all those lonely years.

Then the day we both prayed for
Yes, it finally came to be
And for once we were content
Being together, just you and me.

Then on the twenty-third of May
with our vows we joined our hearts
To love and cherish each other for ever
Till death, we would not part.

But the hard times were so many
And the good times short and few
Still my love for you refused to die
But time took its toll on you.

For once, I wasn't there to hold you
To comfort you, and dry your tears
And you let die the love kept alive
for so many, many years.

The vows we made have been broken.
The dreams we shared have faded away
And for our love there's no tomorrow
Or, at least, that's what you say.

But as long as my heart keeps beating
To you I'll never be untrue
And with my last breath here on this earth
I'll still confess my love for you.

For even though, again, we're far apart
and I have caused you so many tears,
We have always been together here in my heart
and there you will remain for all my years.

And with each tomorrow, there's always hope
Although our yesterdays and today were blue
I'll keep waiting for that tomorrow
That may again find me and you.
