I graduated from M. C. Napier High School in Darfork, Kentucky which is near Hazard, Kentucky. I attended Morehead State University for a short while. I have worked various jobs. I worked in a coal mine until injured on the job.
I have been married three times and divorced three times. The last marriage was to the love of my life and we had two beautiful daughters which were the light of my life.
My world came to a crashing end in January 2001 when the nephew of two of Kentucky State Police implicated me in a drug deal. Although he testified in my trial that he had taken guns from his family and traded them to various people for Oxycontin--allegedly one of the persons being myself--I was sentenced for his crime. On April 20, 2001 I began a 31.3 year federal prison term. For the past two years much of my time has been occupied with my appeal procedure. The case will be assigned to a panel of judges on September 19, 2003.
Since April 20, 2001 I have lost my family to divorce. Lost my home to my ex-wife. And friends have faded with time.
One does not realize how drastically their lives can be changed in a mere 4 hour block of time by the corruption of police brought on by the War on Drug policies until they have personally been denied their constitutional rights and have witnessed the actions of our justice system as injustices are dealt out based on "misrepresentation" by public servants.
For this reason I pledge to tell my story and I hope that it stirs the reader to action.
