| Scrapbooks are kept to remind us Of the by-gone yesteryears. But while some memories will make us smile, Others will fill our hearts with tears. I am sending you these pictures For your scrapbook to be put away, Something to remind you of the man I was As you walk through your memories of yesterday. Pictures are good to have in case You think of someone you once knew, And your thoughts of them are crystal clear But their face keeps eluding you. And pictures are a very special thing, For in them --- time stands still. And though the person changes day-by-day, Those special pictures never will. Although these pictures are only images Of a man, whose love was kind and true, Images of a man who once had everything When his life was filled with you. I can only pray they make your scrapbook To be looked upon in later days, For like the man they are the image of Pictures can be kept, or thrown away. (October 21, 2003) |
