| In a harbor in New York City The Statue of Liberty stands Holding her torch to show the gateway To a 'once' proud and glorious land. Here, also, in the Halls of Justice Another grand lady stands in wait Her eyes hidden to conceal the truth That you will learn of -- far too late. For like the women of Siren Island That laid so many poor souls to rest The things these ladies offer you Are only false promises -- at best. For the things these ladies represent Are broken dreams -- that couldn't last Now freedom, equal rights, and justice Are long forgotten -- and in the past. They beacon you to a land -- of 'chosen people' Chosen for their money, power and greed And it's to them they sell their services But for the poor -- they have no need. Like so many other 'beautiful women' Who left men heartbroken and in defeat These ladies conceive mischief and bring forth evil And their hearts prepares deceit. So take time to know these ladies Learn the dark secrets that they hold Before you place your trust in them And in their hands -- you lay your soul. |
