Welcome to the FAFG
What, you might ask, is the FAFG? It is, of course the Future Analyst Fantasy Game. Every week G, Phil, and I make predictions on 10 college football games, starting with a commentary and ending with the final score predictions. Four games are voted into our showcase as "must-play" games, and then each of us get two personal picks for games we'd like to cover. The points are added up every week, and the points leader after week 17 is the winner. Scoring 5 points for correctly guessing the winner of the game -.3 points for each point you are off in the spread (changed on Friday from -.2) Before I changed it, we finished in this order in the Wisconsin game, which was unacceptable to me: Joe, CFN, Phil, G, Harmon. Even though Phil and G were right and Harmon wasn't, Harmon was too insanely close to come in last. I think .3 balances winning and spread pretty well. (for example, if a game's score is 34-21 and I predict 27-3, the spread was 13, whereas I predicted a 24 point spread. I would lose -2.2 points) -.1 ponits for each point you are off in the total points (in the above example, the total points were 55. I guessed 30, and was off by 25. I would lose -2.5 points.) 15 points free This scoring system is far from arbitrary. It took me about an hour to come up with something that made sense. I didn't even take a break whilst toileting. In fact, I can't think of a better pooping activity for a math major. The Schizzie If there is a debate on what makes the showcase, Sagedaddy Joe has final say, but will heavily weigh the opinions of Sagepappa G and Sageboppa Phee I will compare our guesses with CBS Sportsline's "Harmon Forecast", the "mathematical predictions to all the games" for 46 years running. Heh, we'll see, Hymen...we'll see. Every week, there will be a guest Swami to test his wits with our sages. If you have any comments, questions, predictions of your own, or a request to be a guest Swami, please leave it in the guestbook.

FAQs: (or questions I imagine being asked) You: Why do you get 15 points free? Me: So I don't have to deal with negatives, and because we'd feel better coming out of a week with 180 points than 30. You: If I am a guest, and I beat a sage, do I take their spot? If not, what punishment do they receive? Me: 40 lashes. Actually, being beaten by you is embarrasing enough to warrant no penalty. You: Did you really try to crunch numbers for the scoring whilst pooping? Me: Ask Steve. You: Why are everyone's Heisman picks so bad? Me: Because we made these picks at the beginning of the season. I bet you asked that 12 weeks from now, you cuntrag. You: How can we be sure that we won't see 10 ACC games up here every week? Me: Well, for starters, there are only 9 ACC teams. Also, Phil likes the Big 10 and I like the Big 12, so at least we'll be 3 conferences worth of diverse. I imagine we'll also get a ton of Pac 10 and SEC covered too.
