Week of: April 24, 2000

Day 8: April 24, 2000

Back in the swing, full intensity Legs & Abs.  Felt real strong today.  Could have done more weight on the leg press so will kick it up a notch on Friday's leg day.  Abs were also strong.  Was focused on the contractions at the top.  

With the kids off from school this week, I won't be able to get my early AM Cardio work done this week.  So will do the adjustment and get it done after work. 

Feeling real good after my first week.  Get lots of support from everywhere, home, work and even in the gym. 

Day 9: April 25, 2000

Got my cardio workout done right after work today, full intensity on the stationary bike.  Felt great too.  Tomorrow is upper body day.  Planning to hit'em hard with lots of intensity.

Meals were a bit off.  Only got 5 in today, but never felt hungry at all through out the day.

Day 10: April 26, 2000

Upper body feels good, got a good workout in today.  Went a bit too heavy on my Incline Presses, but the workout still felt good.  My wife is off tomorrow, so will be able to get my cardio workout in again in the AM before work.  That is good to, being it is my son's birthday.  

My meals were totally backed up today due to a meeting at work which started an hour late and I hadn't planned for that.  Did squeeze in 5 meals, so it wasn't too bad.

Day 11: April 27, 2000

Today is my son's 4th birthday.  He loves coming to the gym with me, although he didn't today.  His curiosity about the machines is strong and I am sure he can't wait to one day in the distant future to hit the weights himself.  

Got my cardio workout in this morning.  Was in the gym at about 5:45 and it felt great again.  It's definitely a good way to wake up.  Now, if I could get myself up about 20 minutes earlier on my weight days, I may be able to get my weight workout done in the mornings also.  Before this challenge is over, I will do that.

People are already telling me they are seeing changes.  That feels so good to hear.  Checked my weight and I am down to 212 lbs.  I'm down 6 lbs already.  Awesome!! 

Tomorrow is Legs and Abs again.  Gonna hit'em hard and add some extra weight on the Leg Press.  I felt I could have done more on Monday, so will add the weight tomorrow.

Day 12: April 28, 2000

Great Leg and Ab workout tonight.  Did the extra weight on the leg presses.  What a rush!  Knew I could do it.  Abs felt great too.

Meals were again backed up a bit.... I did get five meals in, seem to be having trouble getting to the sixth, but, that is still ok.... I am still, never feeling hungry, so that is a plus.

Day 13: April 29, 2000

It is beginning to look like I have to make Saturday's my "Off Day."  Second week, and was just tired in getting up in the morning to get to the gym.  We'll see how it goes next week.  In the mean time, gotta push myself to get up and get there tomorrow.

Day 14: April 30, 2000

Week two is at an end and I am feeling great.  Got up and went to the gym this morning and did my 20 minutes on the stationary bike reaching my full level 10 intensity.  This was all on an empty stomach, so after the gym, went home and had my breakfast of hard boiled egg whites and cereal with strawberries.

Have to say that it feels good not spending hours and hours in the gym, the way I used to.  I used to spend almost 2-1/2 hours in the gym doing weights and cardio.  Now I go in with a set purpose, and I don't let myself get distracted.  So that is really worth it all.

Week 3 begins tomorrow with a full all out upper body workout.... Onward!
