Day 64: June 19, 2000

I can see my body again!!  Well, all except the back, which I am trying to get my wife to help me with.  Hopefully she will do it tonight.  Now, I need some color, because, except for my face and arms, I am fairly pale.  You will all see in the pictures I will take and post later this week.

Had an full blown Leg workout tonight.  Keep bumping up the weight on my Leg Presses.  Each workout, I add an extra ten pounds.  It sure feels great when I move that weight.  Hamstrings were also strong today, curling up 100 lbs.  Like I said, I love training legs and tonight was another great workout.  Also picked up the new copy of Muscle Media.  Will begin reading it tomorrow on the bike.

Day 65: June 20, 2000

Was on the bike early this morning getting another great cardio workout and I was reading the new Muscle Media magazine.  While looking it over, especially the cover photo, I have thought of another new goal...... "Within the next year, I will be in Muscle Media Magazine."   I feel this will be a great goal to achieve.  

I have also been thinking of something else.  When I last trained and got to the shape I was in, I had wanted to compete in a bodybuilding show.  I think now is the time to set a goal to also compete on stage in a bodybuilding show.  This I will accomplish also within the next year.  So there you have it, two new long term goals.  Onward.....

Day 66: June 21, 2000

My son had his Step Up from Pre-K today (Even though he will be back in Pre-K next year).  Was a wonderful little ceremony.  Definitely makes a dad feel proud.

Today was Upper Body day and was feeling strong.  Back on the dumbbells for chest and reached a personal best of 70 lbs. for five all out reps.  It felt real good.  Also back to the Side Laterals and Front Raises for shoulders.  Arms were also strong today.  Really got a great pump.

Finally got my copy of "Body of Work" and need to watch it soon.  Gotta get some time to see it.......

Day 67: June 22, 2000

Cardio, Cardio, and more Cardio!!!  Once again, got myself up early in the morning..... Hit the gym and got my cardio wake-up call and it got me set for the day.  

After work today, had to do some babysitting, so got to watch "Body of Work."  What an inspiring video this is.  This along with the "Success Stories" video are two must see videos for anyone who is looking for inspiration to make the change, to take the challenge.  I also had my daughter take the progress pictures, even though I still have the hair on my back.  Will have them posted here at the end of the week.......

Day 68: June 23, 2000

Legs and Abs again today.  Today was not as intense as it was on Monday, but I did get a good burn in my legs.  I need to step it up again next week, although as I did on Monday, I did add another ten lbs. on the Leg Presses.  I am inching the weight up and up and I feel great about it.

Day 69: June 24, 2000

Ronnie Coleman (Mr. Olympia) and MeWent to the Bev Francis Atlantic States Bodybuilding Championships tonight.  Got to meet Ronnie Coleman, the current Mr. Olympia.  He is freaky huge.  Now, I have met some pro bodybuilders in the past but, I mean, his arms are the size of my legs and I could probably stand behind him, and you wouldn't see me.  Gotta tell you, after watching this show, I am definitely psyched to compete in a show next year.  I saw some guys on stage in the Masters Division and I said for sure, "I can get to that condition, that can be me up there!"

Day 70: June 25, 2000

Week 10 progress pictures.  Click here for a quick trip back to Week 5 or my Goals page to see my previous pictures.  Still have the hair on my back, but had to get the pictures done anyway.  I also added an extra picture showing my quads (I know, it's dark).  And as I said at the beginning of the week, I need to get tanned and add some color.
