Dr. Frank Tovey - Members of the staff who know and remember Dr. Frank Tovey will be glad to know that he is recovering after his triple bypass surgery at his home in Basingstoke. He is back to his old self arranging for various visitors to HMH and inquiring about the Hospital. DIPLOMA OF NATIONAL BOARD EXAMINATIONS: From January 2001 HMH has been recognised for the training of doctors for the 3 year post graduate Diploma of the National Board in the following specialties:
LAPAROSCOPIC NEPHRECTOMY: The first Laparoscopic Nephrectomy in Mysore was performed by our team of House surgeons. EPWORTH HOSPITAL, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: Following the visit of the Director and Dr. Mrs. Paul to the Epworth Hospital, in Melbourne, Australia a link up has been established with the hospital for used equipment. The first consignment of disposables mainly for operating room and intensive care units have arrived and are proving to be very useful. STAFF: Dr. Savitha joined as Registrar in Medicine. Obituary: Mr. S. P. Kumar on 30.1.2001 who had retired as Chief Accounts Officer. VISITORS: Mr. Venugopal and Mr. Rabindra from Evangelical Hospital Khariar were trainees in our clinical pathology and biochemistry laboratories. Raphael Radoux - musician from Belguim - performed for the ChildrensWard and campus Kids on 3-2-01 between 5 - 6 pm. Christina Baldwin - student from the UK did a project of the Childhood Disability Clinic for three months (October - December 2000). She also worked with the Physiotherapy department. Anna Heald and Elizabeth Roche - Final year Medical students from the UK did their Elective studies at HMH Diane Rose a Nurse from Oxford visited the NICU / Children's Ward. NEW SERVICES:
