HELPFUL HINTS

This page is meant to be an extra reference for students and parents for Mrs. Benoit's math classes.
Students should refer to their agenda and to school announcements for critical dates.
There is no substitute for daily attendance and daily completion of assignments.
Have a network of several students to consult about assignments and dates.
A confirmed test date will be given to students a few days before the test.
Folder for your class on counter has handouts and quizzes/tests for absentees
Study text where excellent examples (often different from your notes from the projector screen) and explanations are to be found.
Remember that the notes on the projector screen are your class notes. It is critical that you take complete and accurate class notes. Class notes will be posted, usually the same day, at http://mrsbenoitsmathclass.wikispaces.com.
The text should be a frequently used resource.
Make arrangements for extra help with teacher.

EXTRA HELP: Find the combination the works for you!
Have questions you have tried for homework and that you want the teacher to go over in class every day.
Keep a list of questions to ask individually during the "work period" in class.
Seek help outside of class from Mrs Benoit (try 224 and 218) at lunch or after school.
Seek help from the free peer drop-in tutors in room 222 at lunch.
Arrange a personal peer tutor to meet a scheduled times. See any math teacher for details.
Arrange a personal tutor outside of school.
