Welcome To
FirstSteps2Alottafun!!!
Here you will learn basics to making stationery with the
Paintshop Pro program, and applying that stationery to scripts. There will be 10 lessons,
and 10 scripts. I am Renee, and if you are ready let's get some preparations done
before we start the lessons!!
Please Note*** Due to
a long illness, there will not be any help with these lessons. they are
clear enough to understand on their own. Please follow directions closely
and you will succeed in completing your stationery.
The graphic tutorials require that you have Paintshop Pro, you can download
an evaluation version at http://www.jasc.com/
These tutorials are done with version 6.02
The scripts require Notepad and Outlook Express version 5 or better.
Please make a folder in your computer on c: and name it
firststeps, or any name you prefer. Throughout the lessons I will be referring to
firststeps folder. You can save all instructions, and graphics, to this folder so that we
all work from the same reference point.
Please make another folder on c: and name it firststeps-scripts. This will be
where you can place instructions, the text and the html for the scripts. I prefer to
organize from the beginning.
Please make a folder in your Paintshop Pro program, and name it "psp
projects".. do not use the quotation marks. We will be saving our work as we go
along and that is the folder we will save in. If you have ever been in the middle of a
creation and the electricity went off or a error window pops up, you know what I am
referring to as far as why we are saving as we go along.
You will be learning how to put the stationery and scripts together in Notepad,
so it will be more convenient for us both if you will create a desktop shortcut to
Notepad. You can do this by going to start/programs/accessories/ and right click on
Notepad and click send to desktop as shortcut.
You can save all of these web page lessons to your computer by clicking
file/save as In the window that pops up, it will already have the lesson name in it,
and to save it as a Web Page Only *.htm *.html (open
the drop down window to choose this feature). You can save it to your firststeps folder and then
it will be there for you to view anytime you need it. Just double-click on the HTML file
and it will open. Sometimes I have found that easier to do because I can have my Paintshop
Pro open also and just switch back and forth between windows.
If you need help in anything at all please email me, I will guide you through
step by step. Please email me if you need help Now if you are ready, let's go to Lesson One!
Please Note***These
pages will be graphic intense, they will take a while to fully download. Use your
refresh button to reload the page to check for updates on that page. ...Renee
