Draft Environmental Impact Statement
Shorts School Road Am Antenna Structures 73

Temporary disturbance during construction would be limited by careful planning and
scheduling of construction activities.

Traffic safety signs and flaggers, as necessary, would be used to inform and manage
motorists about construction activities along Shorts School Road.

Use mulch and sediment barriers to prevent sediment from eroding and leaving the site.

When clearing and grading cannot be avoided, use mechanical barriers to erosion,
including slash windrows, straw-bale dams, and erosion-control fabric where appropriate.

Comply with applicable requirements related to construction within a floodplain.

Require contractors to minimize construction noise and vibration impacts by shielding of
noise equipment.

Require mufflers be used on all internal combustion engine-driven equipment

3.2.6 Significant Unavoidable Adverse Impacts

Some short-term construction impacts would unavoidably occur such as interference with
cultivation activities, traffic delays, and nuisance impacts associated with being in close
proximity to construction activity. These are short-term impacts, which would cease once
construction is completed. The proposed action would not change existing land uses or
shorelines on a long term basis. Ninety nine percent of the site would continue to be used as
agricultural land.
