Synopsis
A boy is killed and his body is found by an amazed twin, who finds out that his dead doppelg�nger is in fact his own mirror reflex.
Some words about "The Reflex"
The idea to this Quick Movie was triggered by the reading of "From Caligari To Hitler", a book about the German expressionist cinema. Two films based on doppelg�nger were reviewed.
In this case, the doppelg�nger would be the reflex of one of the characters that, somehow, left the virtual dimension of the mirrors coming to the real dimension.
The plot is structured in a way that the origin of the doppelg�nger is only revealed at the end, when the main character finds out that he has got no reflex at the mirror any longer - a trick acomplished by the use of strategic camera angles. The main idea is then kept to the end of the film, as a surprise. Until then, one does not really know what it is all about.
The meeting of the main character and his dead reflex is accomplished by the editing, as in Gemini.
