Synopsis
A boy accidentally locks himself naked out of the house.
Some words about "Naked"
This film does not rely on the typical supernatural background of the other Quick Movies. The story starts in a completly normal way and by natural means becomes a tough and unpleasant, although comic, situation.
A friend of mine had told me, a long time ago, about a dream he often had in which all in a sudden he would find himself naked in the middle of the street. That was surely not a confortable situation, and he would run home, while trying to hide the critical areas with his hands. Why not exploring this idea in a movie? Of course there should be a context, a reason why someone would be naked in the middle of the street against one's own will.
The main character would be in the bathroom, preparing to take a shower. Due to a series of misfortunes, he would end up locked outside the house. Although he would always be able to manage a way to hide his situation from other people, the methods would be so poor that he would always be about to be discovered. Besides, these improvisations would keep driving him further from the house. These elements should be the basis for the comedy.
In the Quick Movie though, due to its short duration, these improvised methods happen only once (an interesting sequence with a newspaper, in which the character, in quite a natural way, completely hides his nakedness), and does not create such an expectation, nor does the boy get much further from the house.
If the film had been shot during daylight, that would increase the personal drama (and therefore the comedy of the situation), for that would imply in a bigger possibility of meeting someone else, thus making it harder for him to hide his nakedness.
It is a short film with a quick plot, but it follows a logical sequence.
The solution to the problem is a selfish one, for he simply transfers it to someone else by stealing the clothes from a drunk beggar who is asleep.
