Synopsis
This Quick Movie is a simple comedy about a spy trying to photography some secret plans.
Some words about "Mission"
This film had its origin in a gag, the spy taking a big gun out of a small pocket, something physically absurd. There is hardly a story, improvised while shooting, and which serves to fit this gag.
The film consists basicly of one scene: a spy breaking into a house to photography some secret plans. It is a long, monotonous scene. There is no conflict until the end of the film, when an enemy spy shows up. But this conflict disappears too quickly, letting the rhythm of the film unbalanced.
There is also a short introductory scene before the title of the film appears, following the James Bond films structure.
That is not the only relation with 007 though. The sound track brings two tracks from James Bond films. The music even helps to explain the story, for everybody relates it with spionage, even before anything happens. There is also a song from the English group The Cure, ending the film with a comic touch.
Editing was essencial for the gags, but it was not really effective to the rhythm of the film, although as the story was improvised to fit a gag, and not the opposite, there was not really much too be done with the footage we got.
