Synopsis
A boy enters a house, sees a ghost and gets killed in a supernatural manner while trying to scape.
Some words about "Haunted House"
This Quick Movie was improvised in one night - no screenplay, no previous draft. The seed to it was a special effect, which is the use of a mirror to create a ghost.
The plot is not ingenious, in fact there is hardly one. It's basicly a boy who enters a house, sees a ghost and gets killed in a supernatural manner while trying to scape. During the shooting, we though about giving this poor plot a stronger context by transforming the boy in a thief who would be breaking into the house. We tried some shots with this in mind, but it seemed it would not work, so we simply gave up the idea.
Although it is not a particularly creative film, with a senseless plot, it makes good use of the language, for it provides an adequate supernatural atmosphere to the movie.
Most of the film consists simply on the boy walking through the house. There is no conflict at this part of the film, but suspense is created, and it is intensified by the sound track taken from "The Empire of The Sun", from Spielberg, composed by John Willians. Also the lack of other persons interacting with the only character creates a sensation of solitude, intensified by some camera angles.
