Summer time and the weather was not fine
It was hot April day when we trek punters decided to have another trek. We wanted an easy one and so Gorakhgad was decided upon. This we were three punters Macchu,Raimi and me (I can bet that this team has one of the most enthu trekker our campus ever had this far). Me and raimi sat off to Kalyan in the evening while macchu joined us in Thane. Over the top. We reached Murbad at 11:30 late night. Luckily we got the last bus to Dehri. The bus was crammed like hell, so we had to sit on the roof top. Boooyyyyy that was 2 sxy...... We were like riding a wild stallion in the jungle with darkness all around us. We enjoyed that bus trip 2 much.
Nite trek
We got off two stop after Dehri. There a man asked us to make entry in a register and welcome us with drinking water. The way to the fort started from behind a temple which is few steps away from the bus stop. Not much time was passed by when we had our first camp in the jungle. We ate there and took much rest. We were not in much mood to cover the whole jungle part in the night but had to start again when we saw another big group approaching us. We finally stopped at a point where the actual rock cliff starts. We stayed there till dawn. Trek till now was too smooth. With first light we started the final climb. The fort is a relatively small rock cliff but standing pretty much straight. The whole climb is on rock carved steps which goes bit tricky and risky at some points. We were at the top in one hour. From the top we saw huge Damdamia range hugging Gorakhgad. The top is small flat roof with steep falls everywhere. There is also a small temple where we offer our thanks and prayers to Baba Gorakhnath. We started down at 9 am and were at the bus stop in about 2 hours. We were back at the campus by 4:30 pm. Summing up, this trek was worth and quite thrilling. A must recommended for those who wants thrill wihtout much exhasution.
