ROTK PLOT BUNNIES (5) R61. Frodo could barely sleep in the Elves' flet in Lothlòrien, and finds the heights of Minas Tirith to be petrifying -- until Pippin tells him the secret of how he was able to find peaceful rest so high above the ground. R62. Pippin knows that someday he will be Thain -- the first one answerable to a king -- and asks Faramir to talk to him about what it means to be Steward of a people. R63. Merry and Pippin are a bit disappointed that they never got to see the legendary 'Gollum' -- and are confused by the fact that Frodo and Sam describe him so differently. R64. Newly orphaned, Faramir finds comfort in a conversation with Aragorn, Frodo, and Éomer (or any one of them) -- about losing one's parents, and learning to go on. R65. In Minas Tirith, Frodo and Sam sneak away to explore the levels of the city on their own -- and get lost. There's nothing to do but find a tavern -- where the delighted Men honor the Ringbearers by buying them drink after drink before Gandalf tracks them down... and joins them. R66. Before they part, Galadriel gives Arwen a gift -- something that Celebrian had meant to give her daughter when she married. R67. Donated bunny
from Qinfinity: R68. Sometime after awakening, Frodo asks Aragorn to explain how it was that he and Sam slept for two weeks -- and why Aragorn chose to do it. R69. In Minas Tirith, Frodo catches a small cold or chill. After looking after Mr. Frodo for so long on his own, Sam finds himself resentful -- and upset -- when Aragorn wants to treat his master and doesn't seem to trust him to do it himself. It's up to Aragorn (or Frodo) to figure this out -- and see to it that Sam knows that he's still needed. R70. While at Cormallen, Frodo and Sam visit some of the wounded Men. What are these visits like? Are the Men awestruck, amused, entertained, grateful, curious? R71. The only way back across the River to Minas Tirith from Cormallen is by ferry or boat -- and a boat is one of the things Sam had hoped he'd never see again. R72. Pippin decides that Gandalf the White looks odd without a hat -- and finds him a new one. R73. At Aragorn's wedding, Frodo feels Bilbo's absence keenly. Gimli cheers up his friend by relating stories that his father Gloïn had told him about "the burglar". R74. What is Éowyn's
first impression of Arwen, the woman who had captured Aragorn's heart?. R75. The hobbits discuss the strange idea that a rhyme about oliphaunts was being recited by children in the Shire. Where and how had hobbits ever heard about the massive beasts? *
