R106. Merry and Pippin were present at Théoden’s funeral, and also Éomer’s. Did they discuss this? What changes did they find in Rohan in the many years since they had been there? Were they present as the next king of Rohan was proclaimed? Did Merry swear fealty to him, as well?

The archives in Minas Tirith seem to have been rather neglected (at least in the images in "The Fellowship of the Ring"). With Rivendell being such a place of learning, it is doubtful that the libraries there would be in the same state. Aragorn was likely raised with a great respect for the proper treatment of manuscripts, scrolls, and books. How would he have reacted seeing the state of the archives in his new city?

R108. At a very fancy banquet, the hobbits are served a dessert sprinkled with gold (or mithril) dust. What are their individual reactions to such an extravagant and unusual dish?

R109. In either Minas Tirith or Edoras, one of the hobbits finds that he is having a craving to taste lembas once again. Since Galadriel is on hand, having arrived in the South for Arwen and Aragorn's wedding, one (or more) of the other hobbits wonder if she would mind giving them the recipe... or making some herself.

R110. In either Minas Tirith or Edoras, the hobbits are introduced to spaghetti... or pizza. (They don't necessarily have to be called by those names.)

R111. While in the South, the hobbits have a friendly stone-throwing competition. Their accuracy at hitting targets astonishes the watching Men... and sets them to eagerly -- and secretly -- placing wagers for or against their chosen hobbit(s).

R112. When the hobbits return to Rivendell, Bilbo knows exactly what day it is (and that the next day will be his birthday). How does Bilbo keep track of time so precisely in Rivendell? Why is it so important to him to know what day it is? Did the other hobbits have any idea of the date?

R113. When the hobbits return to Rivendell, what is their first night back there like? Do they see or sense any change in the place? Do they feel strange or comforted to be back in their old room(s)? Do they feel much different than the hobbits who left there, nearly a year before?
