Alex looked at Ruby and started thinking. Alex could tell that there was something very special about Ruby. Every time Alex was near Ruby or spoke with her, he felt as though he was special as well. "What does Ruby think?" asked Alex.

"Huh?" Ruby replied. "Well, if those places are important, why don't we take control of them? Let's kick those freaks out of my home!"

At that moment, a large trout landed on Alex's head. He turned immediately to Ralda, who had her hands behind her back and a sheepish grin on her face. "What was that for?" Alex rebuked.

"Nothing! It wasn't me!" retorted Ralda. "It was Jab!"

Alex was turning to Jab just as Jab was mumbling, "tattle trout."

"Have either of you been paying attention?" asked Court Jester.

"Of course not, cheese man." Jab responded, "Me and Ralda have been playing catch!"

"With trout!" Ralda added.

"We're bored! We get the point - we need to get the evil things out of Jorica. Now when do we start kicking butt?"

"Yeah, give us something to do!"

An evil grin grew on Zero's face. "How about, I have you two go to the library and research what this place is where all the Dark Matter forces are coming from?" He said, pointing to the irregular patch at the end of the line of dark forces heading for Jorica.

"Oh, come on, that's boring, too!" Complained Jab.

"Well, it's an order, so you both must do it."

Jab and Ralda both gave looks of harsh disappointment. "Look at it this way, Jab," Alex said quickly, "You can have Mari help you do some of the research."

Jab's disappointed frown morphed into a sinister-looking smile. "MY MARMAR!" He exclaimed as he flew out the control room. Ralda trotted over to Zero and slapped him with an extra-large trout before following Jab.

Alex looked at the scan map displayed on the control room monitor. "This looks familiar. Is this a map of the world?" he asked.

"Basically," Zero explained, "It's information about the landscape of the entire planet gathered from on-board scanners and various satellites that orbit this planet. It's like a world map, but better."

"I think I understand." Alex replied. "So this line headed to an island off the coast of Kaida..."

"Kai-da?" Zero inquired.

"That is correct," replied Court Jester in amazement. "I didn't realize you had any knowledge of geography."

"A little," Alex said, "but I mostly know Kaida because it's the continent where Neoasis is. So, this strange line..."

"Is the Dark Matter army, we're pretty sure," interrupted Court Jester; "Whenever Zero moves the ship in a different direction, the armies move into its path."

"Why?"

"The Dark Matter seems to be trying to prevent us from accessing the seven energy sources..."
