[Note: This episode takes place at the same time as "Absolute Zero: Dark Diversions." You may notice some things very similar about the two stories, especially in the first chapter. Parts of each story will be identical, while other parts are slightly different perspectives of the same events, so try not to get confused. Enjoy the story]

Alex lay on his bed quite comfortably, exhausted by the battle that had just passed. He had never thought that the darkness that overcast the land - the Dark Matter - would amass an army of fiendish and deformed furries to enforce its will. Alex and the rest of the team known as Absolute Zero were caught off guard by these actions. Everyone feared that this could mean only one thing: the Dark Matter had mobilized in order to attempt to eliminate Absolute Zero. The team had been recognized as a threat, and once Neopolis moved, Zero would report radar scans indicating legions of the Dark Matter heading for regions of the world that would block the team's path. Obviously, this was being done on purpose, to stop Absolute Zero from achieving its goal of destroying the Dark Matter.

"Oh yay! They're assembling in one place so we can kick all of their butts at once!" Exclaimed Jab as he flexed his muscles and cracked his knuckles.

"Unfortunately, that is not likely how it will happen," resented Zero, the ship's captain. "This pattern is deliberate - they're probably planning to over power us with an ambush of sorts."

"Zero, what are we going to do? They're heading to my home of Jorica!" Ruby argued as she bared her teeth. "I'll rip them all to shreds myself if they do anything to the animals there!"

"In Jorica..." Court Jester mumbled. "Hmm."

Whatever Court Jester was mumbling was apparently louder than he had hoped, although not as clear as everyone else in the room - Jab, Ruby, Zero, and Ralda - would have liked.

"Do you know something we don't, oh cheesy one?" inquired Jab.

"Well..."

"Tell us, or I'll trout-slap you silly!" threatened Ralda as she began wielding one of her many large, dead fish.

"Well, I don't know exactly what's going on, but I have a hypothesis." Court Jester said nervously.

"Yeah..." Ralda prompted, trout still in hand.

Court Jester cleared his throat. Everyone in the room still had their attention directed at him. "Have you all heard of elements and magic energy before now?"

"I remember!" interrupted Ruby, "You told me about that stuff the day I met you! Didn't you say magic energy and psychic energy and all sorts of energy are the same?"

Court Jester stared at Ruby, wide-eyed with amazement. "You ... remembered?" I though you slept through the whole thing!"

"Well, I'm the master!" Ruby responded.
