Becoming A Fan

Are you just now becoming a fan? Not yet a fan and need some pointers before you read the books? Read the books and still confused? Not a problem at PhoenixNet! I've created this page to help you out!

What is Hogwarts?
If you know anything about Harry Potter, you've heard the word "Hogwarts" about 5,000+ times- no lie! But what is this Hogwarts? Well, I'll tell you! The full name is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For more details, view the encyclopedia entry on Hogwarts

Who is Voldemort?
You probably also heard about Lord Voldemort. I think the better question is "What is Voldemort?" as he's not exactly alive... he just exists! Voldemort is the Dark Lord that killed Harry's parents

Do I have to have a background knowledge of anything before I read Harry Potter?
No, not at all! There is a bit of Latin and French in the words, but they're only derivatives, so you need not worry about speaking a foriegn language (unless of course you plan on reading the books in a foriegn language!). Also, a lot of the creatures originated in Greek mythology and such, however you also do NOT need to know a thing before Harry Potter.

How old should I be before reading Harry Potter?
Harry Potter is for ALL ages! Please click the link on the sidebar under 'The Adults' that says "It's For All Ages!". (The books are fine for all children, however those under 7 might find them a bit scary and there is very mild swearing!)

Will I like the Harry Potter books?
Do dogs bark?

Any more questions? Go to the "Contact Me" page and send me an email!
