Save yourself a bit of time and learn from my mistakes...

NT 4 Installation:

Make sure your primary partition is NOT Fat32. It took me 2 days failed installation to work it out. I had to get my old Dos 6.22 boot disk format it to Fat16.

3Com Nic - 3C509TP:

This ISA card was a real pain in the neck to install.
I got it second hand from the market, so there was no drivers. I went to the 3Com's web site and downloaded the 3C509 drivers and tired to install it. Half way through it the installation program says network card not detected and it aborts the installation. The solution was to use the drivers from Windows 98 CD.

IRQs:

Another problem with installing my NIC was not realising that I had no IRQs free. Always check your IRQ's before installing new hardware.

Network Cable:

I was having trouble pinging one of the other machines one day. The problem turned out to be a lose RJ45 cable. I think its the simple things that gives you the most trouble.
