Well it all started back in late January 1988 in a
little pet store in Chandler, Arizona. I was part of
a little of 4 kittens. Along came this college guy
who was interested in a cat. He and his girlfriend at
the time came across me and my 3 siblings. I think he
choose me because I had this stripe down my nose which
he thought was cute.

It was just the two of us --- Jimmy and me for a long,
long time. I didn't mind for the most part in fact I
loved being an only child. It meant that I got all of
my dad's attention. I got to sit on his lap
without being bothered while he ate ice cream (I love
vanilla ice cream! Dad always gives me the last taste
left in the bowl), I got also half the bed at night
--- it was great!

Then ten years ago my dad met my mom. I didn't like
her at first --- she was competition, after all. But
she credits me with her giving my dad a second look.
Mom's reasoning was that guy who would buy a cat on
a whim and still have her so many years didn't have
commitment issues! Although she was competition, Mom
turned out to be ok. I'm much warmer at night. This
is because I sleep between my parents touching both of

them.

Now I have canine and human sisters. My human sister
is 2 years old. Although I don't normally like kids,
she's very amusing and she likes to hug me. She finds
me fascinating, which I must say is good for an old
cat's ego, and follows me around a lot. One of my
favorite things about her though is that she smells a
lot like my parents.

My canine sister is 5 and well, I have issues with
her! First of all, she doesn't like to share. I
licked a dog bone she left lying around
once and you would have thought the world had come to
an end!!! She also doesn't want me anywhere near her
dog bed, she eats the food left for
me in my bowl and sometimes chases me around the house
like I'm some little toy. It's a lot for one little
cat to take. She stresses me out
and I must confess, I've released that stress on my
parents bed from time-to-time. Why not? It's their
fault she's here after all!

Despite her though, I live a good life. I spend my
days in a sheepskin lined basket basking in the sunny
bay window of my dad's home office. Next to my basket
is my favorite cat grass to snack on. Occasionally,
Dad will let me provide input on one of his conference
calls. Personally, I think his business has benefited
a lot from my wisdom. When I need a change of
scenery, I amble across the hall and jump up onto my
perch in my parents bedroom window to watch the cars
drive by the front of the house. Ahhh...cat TV, as
Dad calls it. I may not be the only child of a
bachelor anymore but being part of a family isn't too
shabby!
